Side Story 16
Eunsol smiled brightly, unaware of what Hyun-oh was thinking. Just hearing that he would call a lawyer made Eunsol feel like he owned the world.
It was just one person smiling. Yet when Eunsol smiled, Hyun-oh felt as if everything around him had become brighter.
“…I want to have a wedding ceremony too.”
Eunsol shyly met Hyun-oh’s gaze and belatedly answered his proposal.
The conversation was flowing differently from ordinary couples, but that’s why this moment was all the more precious to Eunsol.
Now, it felt like he had truly become a spouse united with Hyun-oh through love. Eunsol closed his eyes first and approached Hyun-oh.
As he carefully kissed him, a soft sensation immediately covered both his upper and lower lips.
Matching the gentle feeling, the fragrance of lily of the valley permeated through Hyun-oh’s lips with Eunsol’s delicate breath.
It was like a kiss filled with flower petals.
* * *
“You’re really so beautiful, our new bride.”
“…Thank you.”
Eunsol hid his flushed cheeks behind the bouquet. The fragrant flower scent seeped into his nostrils, soothing his racing heartbeat.
Kang Ye-ryeong looked at Eunsol with a satisfied smile. They should have held the wedding ceremony earlier. But with Eunsol’s pregnancy and Raon’s birth, attention had been focused in that direction.
Fortunately, Hyun-oh, who had become like a new person, mentioned the wedding ceremony to Kang Ye-ryeong first.
From that moment, Kang Ye-ryeong busied herself to provide a grand wedding ceremony, including feelings of regret for what she hadn’t been able to do before.
A professional team including a veteran wedding planner was assembled, but final decisions were made through Kang Ye-ryeong’s approval.
Since Eunsol virtually had no family of his own, Kang Ye-ryeong essentially played the role of both parents for the couple.
As a result, the waiting room where Eunsol now sat was beautifully decorated primarily with lily of the valley.
These flowers typically bloom in May and June, so a considerable amount of money was spent to obtain fresh flowers.
This was because Hyun-oh wanted to hold the wedding ceremony on their wedding anniversary. Through the window behind Eunsol, pure white snowflakes were falling generously.
It looked like a scene from a fairy tale.
“Are you capturing this well? Don’t waste a single shot.”
“Of course, ma’am.”
Kang Ye-ryeong approached the camera operators who were diligently pressing their shutters and checked the images appearing through their lenses.
Currently, there were three camera operators in the waiting room. One was continuously recording video, and two were busily moving around to capture the best photos.
The clicking sounds continued without pause. Being surrounded by so many cameras for the first time in his life, Eunsol’s shoulders stiffened.
“Are you very nervous?”
“A little.”
Ryu Jeong-woo, seated beside Eunsol, affectionately patted his shoulder. Though he had attended many weddings, today’s ceremony had a particularly special aspect to it.
“When you walk down the flower path later, just look at Hyun-oh. There are a lot of guests. And there will be even more cameras.”
There were only three cameras in the waiting room, but including those outside, there were ten in total.
The remaining seven were currently roaming throughout the venue with the sole intention of capturing everything that happened today.
It was an environment that would make anyone nervous unless they had nerves of steel. Eunsol swallowed dryly and nodded slightly.
“Please have some water.”
The wedding planner approached and handed Eunsol a water bottle with a straw. Then, she carefully examined whether any part of Eunsol’s makeup had smudged.
“Thank you.”
Having been thirsty, Eunsol took a sip of water and caught his breath. The one fortunate thing was that the waiting room was quiet because Eunsol didn’t have many people he could call friends.
Before entering the waiting room, Eunsol had seen Hyun-oh surrounded by numerous guests.
Though he felt fortunate, Eunsol fidgeted with his fingers. Kang Ye-ryeong had prepared such a nice waiting room, but Ryu Jeong-woo was the only visitor there.
Just as Eunsol’s eyes glanced toward the bag containing his phone, there was a knock at the door, and a group of people entered. All of their eyes widened in unison.
They all had fluffy down on their faces, looking so young that they seemed barely twenty years old.
“Ah, hello.”
“Wow… This is the first time I’ve seen such a luxurious space.”
“Oh? It’s Eunsol Hyung.”
The gazes of the three people, after surveying the waiting room, turned toward Eunsol.
It couldn’t be helped—dressed in a pure white suit, Eunsol contained the most enchanting light in this room.
“Wow, Eunsol Oppa. You’re really beautiful…”
Kim Ji-hye opened her mouth and exhaled in admiration.
Even when seeing Eunsol normally, there were times when one wondered how a person could be like a single flower, but today Eunsol truly seemed like the personification of a flower.
Even surrounded by flowers, once one recognized Eunsol, one’s gaze was drawn only to him.
“You idiot. You should say he looks handsome.”
The short-haired girl next to Kim Ji-hye tapped her arm.
“Oppa, you look so handsome.”
“That’s right. Hyung, you look amazing.”
As Yujin and Kang Hyuk-jin added their comments, the blush on Eunsol’s cheeks deepened.
“Welcome.”
Excluding Ryu Jeong-woo, the three people who had just entered the waiting room were all of Eunsol’s guests. They were friends from the academy Eunsol attended, all twenty years old.
Though there were many people at the academy, these three had become close through a study group.
Everyone vaguely sensed that Eunsol was quite well-off, but they never dreamed that his spouse would be the Chairman of the TH Group.
It was understandable now why Eunsol had difficulty making friends at the academy.
With such a background, one would inevitably need to be cautious.
“Would you all like to come over here and take pictures?”
Ryu Jeong-woo rose naturally from his seat. The three, who had been unintentionally intimidated by the overwhelming scale of the waiting room, approached Eunsol’s side awkwardly.
The planner came over and put flower bracelets made of fresh flowers on the three’s wrists.
“I’ve never done this before.”
“Neither have we.”
Kang Hyuk-jin’s earlobes turned red as he fiddled with the flower bracelet.
Except for princess games forced upon him by his sister when he was very young, it was the first time he had worn such an accessory, and it felt as if goosebumps were rising on his wrist.
Being only twenty, today was also the first time they had attended a wedding that wasn’t for a relative.
“They’re all cute.”
Kang Ye-ryeong watched with a warm smile as Eunsol took pictures with his acquaintances.
When she heard through Kim Myungjun that Eunsol had made friends, her worries had been immense.
Ryu Jeong-woo had been verified as trustworthy through observation, but not the academy people.
She had been on high alert, wondering if they might be approaching Eunsol because they knew about his background.
She had considered investigating them behind Eunsol’s back several times but refrained, thinking it would be disrespectful to Eunsol.
But today, seeing Eunsol’s acquaintances in person, they all had clear eyes. Their good character was clearly evident.
“They all seem nice, don’t they? Eunsol has an eye for people.”
Ryu Jeong-woo, who had approached Kang Ye-ryeong, spoke first as if he had read her thoughts.
“Indeed. Now I can finally relax.”
After taking several pictures, Eunsol’s friends seemed to have eased their tension, giggling and taking selfies with their phones.
Seeing Eunsol smile happily among his peers, a warm breeze blew through Kang Ye-ryeong’s heart as well.
“Eunsol.”
The cheerful laughter ceased when a tall figure entered the waiting room.
Dressed in a black-toned suit, Hyun-oh walked straight toward Eunsol as if no one else was visible to him.
“…His presence is no joke.”
Though the three were betas, even to their eyes, Hyun-oh had an unapproachable aura. Kang Hyuk-jin discreetly lifted his buttocks from the sofa.
The other two also stood up, observing the situation.
“Hello. I’m Han Hyun-oh, Eunsol’s husband.”
Only after checking Eunsol’s complexion did Hyun-oh greet the frozen group. Just as Kang Ye-ryeong had been curious about Eunsol’s friends, so was Hyun-oh.
Sometimes he even went to the academy to pick up Eunsol directly. He felt instinctive vigilance toward the new people around Eunsol.
This was the first time he had met them face-to-face to exchange greetings like today. Hyun-oh’s eyes quickly scanned the three.
“Ah, hello.”
“We’ve heard a lot about you from Eunsol Oppa…”
“…Me too.”
They resembled three baby rabbits placed before a predator. Kang Ye-ryeong clicked her tongue and signaled to the planner.
Hyun-oh had entered the waiting room because the ceremony was about to begin.
“We’ll prepare for your entrance now.”
The quick-witted planner approached Eunsol and Hyun-oh to inform them of the next step.
