Chapter 186
Eunseong pleaded that he would leave after, that he couldn’t go like this, his face pale as he gripped the steering wheel with trembling hands.
After staring at each other for a long time, Eunseong got out of the car, lamenting there was no more time to delay. Director Nam watched Eunseong, who was still clutching the driver’s door.
“I have to go. If they find out I’m gone… they’ll kill ahjussi. No one can stop them except me.”
Though they wouldn’t harm him as the only bloodline and breeder, Yoo Siwoon had killed some of the enforcers and tried to eradicate all of their beliefs and foundations. Eunseong couldn’t help but imagine the worst-case scenario of what these fanatical believers might do, enraged at Yoo Siwoon who had tried to completely destroy their main church.

“…Promise me you won’t do anything dangerous.”
“I won’t. They can’t touch me.”
“Also promise that you’ll leave once you confirm whether the CEO is alive or dead.”
“…I promise.”
Director Nam vaguely knew this was the last chance, and that Yoo Siwoon would never let Eunseong go again.
He got into the car. Eunseong also got in beside him. Director Nam quickly stepped on the accelerator and drove out of the parking lot in the heavily damaged car.
As Director Nam had anticipated, the first barrier on the way to Yoo Siwoon’s residence, the gate, was broken. Lee Joon-seung was also on his way with armed police officers. A van with both doors wide open was haphazardly blocking the entrance to his residence.
As soon as the car stopped, Eunseong jumped out first.
“No! Wait a moment!”
It was obvious that Eunseong was more important to them than Yoo Siwoon, and they would try to secure him by any means.
Before Director Nam could stop him, Eunseong ran inside. Director Nam followed him, cursing under his breath. There was a gun in Yoo Siwoon’s study safe, and if Lee Joon-seung was delayed, he needed to secure it first.
The living room, which was always neat and clean, was in complete disarray. Everything was toppled, collapsed, and scattered on the floor as if someone had been searching for something.
It was a scene where something had already happened and more. Roughly wiping his eyes with the back of his hand to stop tears from flowing, Eunseong frantically searched for Yoo Siwoon. Passing through the messy living room, Eunseong entered the wide-open study and stopped in shock.
“Ah…!”
Yoo Siwoon was lying on the floor of the study. His white shirt and suit pants were soaked with blood, and with a pale face, he seemed to be observing his own red-soaked appearance. His flickering eyes blinked slowly.
An enforcer with a pale face was standing in front of him, holding a knife and trembling in shock as he watched Yoo Siwoon dying.
“Where is it? Where, where is it? Where is it!”
“We must find it quickly. Quickly, qu-quickly find only that, quickly.”
“It’s not here. It’s not here. It’s not here. It’s gone, it’s all gone. Ahhh! This isn’t what we did! This isn’t what we did!”
Leaving Yoo Siwoon collapsed on the floor, the enforcers were frantically searching his study. One enforcer screamed and tore at his own hair.
“…Ahjussi.”
When Eunseong called Yoo Siwoon with a soft voice, the eyes of both the enforcers who were rummaging through the study and Yoo Siwoon lying on the floor moved to the same place simultaneously.

Yoo Siwoon discovered Eunseong and could only move his blue lips without making a sound. Even as this happened, his shirt became soaked in more red.
“Lord Eunseong! It’s Lord Eunseong! The Great Crevice has returned! Lord Eunseong, waaah, Lord Eunseong.”
“We must take Lord Eunseong away! We must separate him from that man!”
The enforcers who had stabbed Yoo Siwoon and were desperately searching the study for something shouted with their respective cries upon discovering Eunseong.

The enforcer holding the blood-soaked knife saw Eunseong and held out the knife and his blood-stained hands to Eunseong, as if asking him to take them away.
Eunseong grabbed a vase on the desk as the enforcers approached him. He smashed it unhesitatingly against the edge. The broken glass glinted sharply. He aimed the broken end of the vase at his own neck. The tip of the glass pressed against his neckline as if he would stab it immediately.
“Put it down, ri-right now. If you touch ahjussi… I’ll die too. You… you killed The Great Crevice. You did! You killed the god who came through the byway!”
Eunseong threatened them with his own life, shouting sharply.
“N-no! No! No! That’s not it! It wasn’t us! It wasn’t our doing!”
“Yoo Siwoon threatened to burn the scriptures, so we only came for that! We only need that! We only need Lord Eunseong and the scriptures! We just need to find that! Come with us! This man is done for! He is no longer your breeder! He’s an unbeliever trying to exterminate us!”
“Put that down, I said put it down!”
Eunseong shouted at the enforcer holding the blood-soaked knife. His hand holding the broken glass aimed at his own neck was trembling helplessly.
Eunseong moved gradually towards Yoo Siwoon, holding the glass close as if to stab his own neck. The enforcers repeatedly pleaded for him to put it down, praying in words that were difficult to understand and insisting it wasn’t their doing.
Eunseong finally reached Yoo Siwoon’s side as he looked up at him blankly.
Eunseong slowly knelt beside him. Still aiming the broken vase at his own neck and threatening the enforcers, he examined Yoo Siwoon’s condition. Eunseong’s eyes soon began to tremble.
“…You came back.”

“I believed… you would come back. I knew… you would return.”
Yoo Siwoon’s lips had turned blue. His complexion, pale without a trace of blood, smiled faintly as he looked at Eunseong. Even in this state, just the fact that Eunseong had returned made him smile as if all his lifetime wishes had been fulfilled.
“Director… called the police, so they’ll be here soon.”
Unable to put down the broken vase because he needed to keep watch on the enforcers, and unable to support Yoo Siwoon either.
Tears fell heavily down Eunseong’s cheeks. He hurriedly rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand. Yoo Siwoon was already faint and difficult to see, and now tears were obscuring his vision, making him even more indistinct. It was Director Nam and Lee Joon-seung. Several armed police officers broke through the window and captured the enforcers.

“Don’t move! You bastards! Ah, these lunatic bastards!”
The police and Lee Joon-seung rushed in, quickly disarmed the knife-wielding enforcer, twisted his arms behind his back, and handcuffed him. The rest of the enforcers were also captured without much resistance.
“CEO! Are you alright?”
Director Nam discovered Yoo Siwoon and rushed over. Eunseong released his protective embrace. Yoo Siwoon’s blood-soaked figure was revealed beneath Eunseong.

“Ahjussi…”

Yoo Siwoon’s blood-soaked hand grabbed Eunseong’s arm. Something sticky and wet gripped Eunseong as he tried to maintain consciousness.

A shout was heard along with the dull sound of something being struck. The commotion subsided as the enforcers were dragged away by the police.
Director Nam removed his jacket with trembling hands. He calmly pressed down on the area below Yoo Siwoon’s stomach where blood was flowing.
“Ugh…”
Yoo Siwoon grimaced and gritted his teeth. The line of his jaw stood out clearly as he suppressed a groan. The chewing muscles below his jawbone contracted tightly and trembled.
When his stomach was pressed, blood also flowed from his thigh. The fabric of his thigh, which had suddenly swelled with blood like a burst of water, clung to his leg. The blood that had soaked through flowed onto the floor. Director Nam ran to the bathroom and came back with several towels.
“I’ve called for help, so an ambulance will arrive soon. Just hold on a little longer. Just a little, just a little more.”
“…Yes. I must hold on. I must live. I… will live.”
Yoo Siwoon looked at Eunseong as he spoke with a faint voice, as if he might lose his breath at any moment. Eunseong was holding him and crying.
“…I knew you would come back, knew you would come back.”
“Stop talking. Don’t speak.”
It felt as if life was draining away with each word Yoo Siwoon spoke. Like a flickering candle with little breath left, wavering precariously in the wind, Eunseong sobbed as he held onto him.
“Yes… I knew, you would come back.”
Leaning against Eunseong who was embracing him, Yoo Siwoon murmured contentedly and closed his flickering eyes. His forehead fell with a thud onto Eunseong’s shoulder as he lost consciousness.
