Survive With the Max Level Guide – Chapter 32

What did Guiding feel like again?

Joo Cheong-gyeong quietly tried to remember.

The last time he’d received Guiding was back when he was still under Jang Hee-gang. Even now, he had Guides stationed at his base for the Espers in his organization—but he himself had never bothered to use them.

The feeble energy of low-grade Guides, brushing against his wavelength as if timidly trying to read it, had been utterly unpleasant. And in the end, it hadn’t helped in the slightest. So why keep clinging to something so useless?

But now… now was different.

“Hngh…!”

Every nerve in his body was locked onto the man in front of him. He didn’t know exactly when it had started, but at some point, he’d become desperate—aching to devour the Guide standing before him. His dry body recoiled slightly from the way he instinctively mouthed and invaded him, as if trying to consume him completely. Unhappy with the retreat, he pulled him in tighter—and Cha Eun-soo’s face went pale.

His throat let out a trembling moan, unmistakably a reaction of pain.

…Ah, shit.

His reason returned to him. Barely. Like a candle flickering in the wind, ready to go out at any second—but it came back, nonetheless.

He’d forgotten that a Guide’s body was no different from an ordinary human’s. And as it was, the man had already looked like he was struggling—probably because of his wavelength.

He didn’t break anything, did he?

A surge of anger—beyond mere frustration—welled up in Joo Cheong-gyeong as he pulled his lips away. His grip loosened, but he didn’t let the man go.

“Cough, cough…”

He looked down at him with glossy, feverish eyes as Cha Eun-soo struggled to catch his breath, coughing in between gasps.

He’d suspected the man was a high-grade Guide, but…not like this. He surpassed expectations—no, he felt miraculous.

So this is what it’s like.

Guiding.

A sensation more euphoric than anything he’d ever known, something that touched a switch inside him he hadn’t even realized existed. This was dangerous.

Right here, right now, he wanted to tear off Cha Eun-soo’s clothes and shove his cock deep into that delicate body. His brain issued only one command. What even was this feeling? It wasn’t enough to call it arousal.

“Hah…”

A quiet laugh slipped out. He could hear the tremble in his own voice, overwhelmed by emotion.

He was furious—furious that he’d only just now met someone like this. And yet, he was grateful too. Grateful that this Guide had finally appeared.

He adored him. He wanted to punish him. No… he wanted to cherish him. He wanted to lick up the eyes that stared at him in fear as the boy struggled to catch his breath.

Joo Cheong-gyeong was fully aware of how completely drunk on euphoria he was.

“It’s getting hard to hold back.”

“Shall we go, then?”

Before he did something to him right here.

Smiling, he traced the edge of the youth’s reddened eyes with his thumb. Shame and fear welled up once again in Cha Eun-soo’s gaze. The way his eyes brimmed with unshed, crystal-clear tears only deepened his desire.

He scooped up the young man’s light body. Cha Eun-soo flinched and grabbed a fistful of his shirt at the chest. He wanted to bite down on those trembling fingertips, chew them softly—but he decided to hold off. For now.

As he started walking toward the car, Cha Eun-soo turned his head. His tear-soaked gaze drifted to Shim Tae-seong, lying bloodied and collapsed on the ground.

***

It was the first time in his life he’d witnessed a battle between Espers, and it was nothing short of surreal. Just like the time he’d experienced Shim Tae-seong’s powers firsthand, it served as a stark reminder of the world he now lived in.

Shim Tae-seong had used his ability to appear from all angles in a relentless flurry of attacks—while Joo Cheong-gyeong responded with uncanny precision, as if he could see into the future.

His naked eyes couldn’t keep up with their movements. He couldn’t even tell who was hitting or being hit in real time. It was only as the fight dragged on, when Shim Tae-seong’s body began to stain red, that he realized who was losing ground.

And when Shim Tae-seong finally lost consciousness and was caught by Joo Cheong-gyeong, he’d already been halfway out of his mind. He never imagined Shim Tae-seong—clearly in good shape after receiving Guiding—would be overpowered by Joo Cheong-gyeong, whose condition was a total wreck.

Of course, he had known that Joo Cheong-gyeong would show up here. He had expected to be taken.

…Because the Third Eye had shown him everything.

To say the current situation was insane would be an understatement.

Hyung and Joo Cheong-gyeong were working together to take someone down, and that someone was Jang Hee-gang.

Jang Hee-gang was not only one of his key targets, but also the leader of the country’s largest terror organization.

And the man who killed his father.

Both Jang Hee-gang and Joo Cheong-gyeong were terrorists, but the reason his hyung had allied with Joo Cheong-gyeong was simple: the man had valuable intel on a long-pursued enemy.

Naturally, both sides had intended to betray each other from the start.

His hyung had secretly planned to wipe out Joo Cheong-gyeong’s organization, contrary to the strategy they’d agreed on…

And Joo Cheong-gyeong?

He’d planned to snatch him up—just like now.

And he himself?

He was going to use this opportunity to wrap Joo Cheong-gyeong around his finger, one way or another.

Honestly, it wouldn’t even be that difficult. All he had to do was go along with him obediently, get close to him physically—and before long, their hearts would follow.

Thinking back to how Hyung and Shim Tae-seong had acted during the early stages of Guiding…

No—even just looking at Joo Cheong-gyeong now, sitting with Cha Eun-soo perched on his thigh in the backseat of the car, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say he’d already crossed the line.

The way he had nearly crushed Cha Eun-soo’s body while kissing him earlier had been terrifying—but even that only meant his emotions were intensely involved. That, in itself, was a green light.

Joo Cheong-gyeong looked down at him with eyes practically dripping honey.

The way that madman stared—tense, yes… but also undeniably thrilling.

“We’ve arrived.”

The car stopped in a secluded area. The entrance to the building exuded a clean yet ominous atmosphere, with Espers stationed at the front standing guard.

Cha Eun-soo attempted to move as if to walk on his own, but it was a pointless gesture. When the subordinate in the passenger seat stepped out and opened the rear door, Joo Cheong-gyeong exited with Cha Eun-soo still held gently in his arms.

They passed by subordinates who bowed in disciplined silence before entering the building. The interior was dim and desolate, the kind of hollow atmosphere one wouldn’t expect from a place so obviously occupied. Joo Cheong-gyeong made his way up the spiral staircase situated inside.

The floor appeared unused—there wasn’t a single person in sight. At the far end of the hallway, they entered a room.

“This is my bedroom,” Joo Cheong-gyeong said, as if giving a guest a house tour.

The window looked out on a barren landscape, not even a single tree in view. The monochrome walls and flooring seemed to sap warmth from the space, giving it a desolate, inhospitable mood. Yet all the furniture was clearly high-end. The bed and the sofa stood out the most.

And Cha Eun-soo understood why.

Joo Cheong-gyeong’s wavelength was so unstable that anything brushing against his skin could be perceived as pain. Compared to Hyung or Shim Tae-seong in the past, his condition was far worse. Of course he would pay this much attention to anything that touched his full body.

That bed—Cha Eun-soo recognized it.

His eyes landed on the outfit spread out across it.

A dress…?

“Ah.”

Following his gaze, Joo Cheong-gyeong let out a soft chuckle and curled his lips upward.

“Hmm… Looks like someone who knows my taste very well prepared that for you.”

His nearly black eyes—tinged red—slid slowly between Cha Eun-soo and the dress, thick with heat and anticipation. It was clear now: the calm demeanor he’d been putting on was barely holding. His rationality was fraying.

The fact that he’d held back this long was impressive. Shim Tae-seong had shown strong self-control too, but when they’d first met, the most he’d done was hold Cha Eun-soo’s hand. To stop midway through a kiss like earlier—that required even more restraint.

The word taste triggered a clear recollection in Cha Eun-soo’s mind: Joo Cheong-gyeong’s preferred sex keywords.

Dding!

[Esper’s Preferred Sex KeywordsJoo Cheong-gyeong: cross-dressing, mirrors, dirty talkShared keyword: more than five hours]

Right… cross-dressing. That was one of them.

Judging from the way he was looking at me, it was pretty clear he intended to have me wear it.

…Fucking pervert.

“Shall we wash up first?”

Joo Cheong-gyeong looked over both himself and me as he spoke. While he had ultimately won the fight, it hadn’t been a one-sided victory. His body was covered in various cuts, sweat, and bloodstains, and I—well, I’d been clinging to a wounded Shim Tae-seong and sobbing all over him, so I was a mess too.

The image of Shim Tae-seong in his wrecked state flashed before my eyes. Since the system wasn’t sending out any alerts, he probably wasn’t dead or rampaging… Still, I needed to use the Third Eye when the time was right and check for myself. Only then would I feel at ease.

Joo Cheong-gyeong started striding confidently toward the bathroom. I quickly twisted my upper body, pretending to be startled.

“P-put me down. I can— I can wash on my own. Or, um, maybe you could go first and then—”

“…Excuse me?”

He stopped in his tracks, brows knitting together.

“That’s not really an option.”

“…!”

“Do I… look fine to you just because I’ve been keeping it together?”

His expression turned unreadable, voice flat and cold as a weight settled on me. Just for a moment, I couldn’t breathe—like something had clamped down on my lungs.

It wasn’t killing intent. But it was a kind of pressure I’d never once felt from either Hyung or Shim Tae-seong.

Our eyes met.

Joo Cheong-gyeong lowered his head. His wavy black hair slipped forward, framing that sinfully fox like face of his.

“I’d really prefer if you’d just go along with me.”

His breath was uneven.

“I’m doing my best not to be a complete bastard right now.”

They’re all exactly my type. *** Leaning both hands on the desk, I tilted toward my brother. “They say… espers feel the best when they’re being guided.” Our eyes met, barely a breath’s distance apart. Our exhales tangled in the space between us. A flicker of flame sparked in his obsidian eyes.
