Chapter 62
Jeonghyeok pulled Yuwon’s hand and placed it on his chest. He didn’t simply place it thereāhe rubbed it blatantly over the surface. Yuwon was forced to feel the firm sensation of solid muscle transmitted through his palm.
“Stop… please stop.”
Even when he tried to twist his wrist free, he couldn’t overcome Jeonghyeok’s strong grip. When he lifted his head, the intense gaze poured down on him, making his mouth go completely dry. Though it was clearly him touching Jeonghyeok’s body, he even had the illusion that Jeonghyeok was kneading him from head to toe instead.
“Are you going to keep staying like this? That’s fine by me.”
The captured hand gradually moved lower. Where it was headed was obvious as day.
His hesitation didn’t last long. After confirming no one was around, Yuwon quickly leaned his face forward. His pursed lips pressed briefly against Jeonghyeok’s lips. A cute smacking sound echoed through the quiet car interior. It was a childish kiss like playing house.
Yuwon shook his tightly held hand, sending a look that asked to be released now. But Jeonghyeok didn’t seem to have any intention of moving. Instead, he had a dissatisfied expression as if asking what kind of nonsense this was.
“I said kiss, not a peck.”
“H-how can I do that here and now!”
Yuwon shouted at the shameless demand.
No matter how darkly tinted the car windows were, this was the place where he had grown up. To openly kiss in a place where the Director, teachers, and even Minhyeon came and wentāno matter how he thought about it, it was too much.
“It’s not like I asked you to bring me here. You gave me a ride on your own!”
“Either way, you got here quickly.”
“Ha, really.”
There was no unreasonableness like this. To provide unwanted kindness and then demand payment for itāwasn’t this exactly the methods of con artists?
But he couldn’t keep arguing. If this continued, he’d be late for his appointment. More than anything, he was worried someone might come out looking for the owner of this unidentified car parked in this small parking lot. If he ran into the Director, he was already feeling hopeless about how to explain this situation.
Yuwon looked around once more. Whether it was unfortunate or fortunate, no one was there.
Let’s finish this quickly and go. Muttering to himself, Yuwon exhaled a trembling breath. He lowered his head toward Jeonghyeok, who sat upright as if challenging him to try it. He closed his trembling eyes tightly while gently taking in the lower lip that came softly against his.
Just when he was at a loss for what to do next, he heard a soft snickering sound. Before he could wonder if it was mockery and open his eyes, a large hand gently cupped his cheek. The moment Yuwon began to struggle after having his control stolen away, a thick tongue didn’t miss the opportunity and slipped through the gap between his parted lips.
The warm flesh moved like a snake inside the small mouth. It teasingly licked the tender mucous membrane and thoroughly sucked up even the saliva pooled in the hollow beneath his tongue.
“Mmh, nng…”
Each time he barely managed to breathe through his nose, thin nasal sounds escaped. The sound of himself echoing in the quiet car interior was embarrassing, but it wasn’t something he could suppress by trying.
Yuwon didn’t know what to do and grabbed onto Jeonghyeok’s shirt. He pulled at it desperately, then at some point his fingers would lose strength and he’d let go, repeating this cycle. The more he did this, the more Jeonghyeok pulled Yuwon’s face closer to himself.
If he could follow his heart, he wanted to lay Yuwon down in the back seat right now. Even after causing such chaos for half a day yesterday, his disgusting desire showed no signs of diminishing. No, would the day when it diminished ever come? While pondering this futile question, he penetrated deeper into the soft mouth.
After kissing passionately for a long while, Jeonghyeok finally pulled back his body at Yuwon’s hand gestures hitting his shoulder. The last few short kisses were filled with regret.
Looking at Yuwon, who was dazed like someone who had been drained of all energy, Jeonghyeok whispered low.
“Only come here until the end of this month.”
“…”
“Hm? Yuwon.”
The voice urging a response tickled his ear. Yuwon hunched his shoulders and lowered his gaze.
How long to continue volunteer work wasn’t something he could decide on his ownāit was something he needed to discuss with Minhyeon. He had already grown attached to the sprout-like children, and it was better to get some fresh air outside for even a few hours than to be cooped up at home.
However, the moment he met Jeonghyeok’s eyes, all of that became meaningless.
“…I understand.”
In the end, this was the only answer he could give. At some point, he had become unable to go against Jeonghyeok’s words. He clearly knew he should be able to say no when something was wrong, but somehow it was becoming increasingly difficult to refuse him.
Having barely escaped from Jeonghyeok, Yuwon pressed his reddened cheeks firmly with his palms. The heat that wrapped around his entire body didn’t fade easily, which was bewildering.
“Contact me when you’re done.”
He was always contacting him anyway. When he arrived home, he would dutifully send a message saying “I arrived home.”
When he nodded obediently, Jeonghyeok gently rubbed his swollen lips. It was a soothing touch as if apologizing for making them this way.
“I’ll go now.”
“Alright.”
After getting out of the car, Yuwon gave a nod to Jeonghyeok, who watched him until the end, then closed the passenger door. Just as he was about to take a step while composing his still finely trembling heart, he heard a familiar voice from behind.
“Hyung?”
Yuwon turned around in surprise. Minhyeon, who had just passed through the orphanage entrance, was standing there with wide eyes.
“What? Did you come by car?”
“Uh, um…”
He considered making up an excuse saying no, but Yuwon just nodded his head in the end. At this distance, he probably would have seen him getting out of the car. His mind became complicated with the thought that what he had been worried about had finally happened.
“Hey, we’ll be late. Let’s hurry inside.”
Yuwon pushed the back of Minhyeon, who was looking at the car with eyes full of curiosity. Fortunately, Minhyeon obediently moved along as Yuwon led him.
“Isn’t that a really expensive car?”
“I don’t know. I’m not interested in cars.”
“Even if you’re not interested, you should know that one. Hyung, you’re really too much.”
The two entered the villa entrance while having trivial conversation. Unlike Minhyeon, who was giggling and teasing, Yuwon’s attention was completely focused on what was behind him. By now, he should have heard the sound of the car starting, but it was strangely quiet.
Why isn’t he leaving? He wanted to turn around and check, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. While holding back his head that wanted to turn around, he barely managed to respond to what Minhyeon was saying beside him as they climbed the stairs.
When Yuwon reached the room on the third floor, he briefly calmed the children who were following him around and stealthily headed to the window.
Could he still be there? While hiding his inexplicably fluttering heart, when he drew back the curtain, Jeonghyeok’s car was no longer in that spot.
***
As soon as he left the narrow alley and reached the main road, Jeonghyeok set the destination on his navigation system. Soon a kind voice could be heard telling him to turn left in 300 meters.
With an expressionless face, Jeonghyeok changed lanes and gently pressed the accelerator. Though he was trying to act like nothing was wrong, cold bitter laughter kept bursting from his already twisted insides.
Kim Minhyeon in person looked exactly like the youth of that age group he had seen in the photo. His transparent eyes, which knew how to hide nothing and didn’t even think of hiding anything, were particularly telling.
Jealousy and wariness. Those two emotions were clearly contained in his light brown gaze. He glared at the unidentified person in the driver’s seat as if they were his mortal enemy.
But when facing Yuwon, he smiled brightly as if asking when he had ever been otherwise. With a somewhat excited face, he struck up conversation and subtly closed the distance. Even without thinking too deeply, it was clear what kind of existence Kim Yuwon was to Kim Minhyeon.
Right, I thought it was strange from the beginning. Jeonghyeok let out a bitter laugh and turned the steering wheel. The fierce anger instead cooled his head.
Just as he was biting his jaw with cold eyes, Taeju called. Jeonghyeok pressed the Bluetooth button on the steering wheel.
“Boss, it’s me.”
“Speak.”
“I’ve been to both places you mentioned. The handover procedures went better than expected, so it looks like everything will be wrapped up within this month without any problems.”
Lately, he had been entrusting all the uncomplicated work to Taeju. It was a way of gradually organizing his position. Though Taeju complained about having too much work, he handled everything without a single small mistake. Since he carried out the entrusted work reliably, there wasn’t much to worry about.
Jeonghyeok briefly said he had done well. Just as he was about to end the call, he heard Taeju’s cautious voice.
“Um, but… aren’t you coming to work at all today?”
“Yeah, I’m not. You can leave right after you finish your work too.”
“Understood.”
Even while listening to the voice filled with disappointment, Jeonghyeok ended the call without delay. Though he felt a little sorry for Taeju, his head was so completely filled with Kim Yuwon that he didn’t even care about a subordinate he’d worked with for ten years. If someone looked into his mind, they would curse him for being truly disgusting.
When he rolled down the window halfway, a cool breeze brushed against his skin. The car that had crossed Seongsu Bridge was now entering Olympic-daero.
