I Possessed a Promiscuous Guide 72

Kang Min and Yu Je-hyun were supposed to be on their way here, using the tracker inside his body as a beacon. The leader of Black was a brutal bastard.

If he found out he’d been deceived, he might take it out on Lee Haru. That was the one thing that had to be stopped, no matter what.

Just as all hope was slipping away, the voice he’d longed to hear, even in his dreams, came from beyond the door.

“Guide Ji Yeon-woo?”

“Haru hyung!”

Tear-filled eyes flew open wide. Ji Yeon-woo grabbed the doorknob and shook it violently. He pulled so hard the skin on his palm nearly tore, but the door wouldn’t budge. Just as his anxiety hit its peak, the knob finally turned. It wasn’t a door that could be opened from the inside to begin with. The one who opened it was Lee Haru.

The moment he saw that dazed face staring back at him, Ji Yeon-woo threw himself into his arms. He buried his face into the shoulder that was just slightly smaller than his own and clung to him with all his strength.

That slender frame yielded without resistance. The sweet scent blurred his vision. As he closed his eyes, thick tears streamed down his cheeks.

“I’ve been doing okay. You must have worried a lot about me.”

Lee Haru was flustered by Ji Yeon-woo’s sudden appearance, but he focused on calming him down first—he was crying so bitterly. Saying he’d been “doing okay” wasn’t exactly accurate. But Haru could tell just from that simple statement how much emotional turmoil Ji Yeon-woo had endured.

They hadn’t known each other for long, but Lee Haru could see that Ji Yeon-woo had a soft heart. Despite all the hardship he must’ve gone through under Black, despite the fact that Haru had done nothing particularly kind, he’d expressed gratitude to him multiple times.

Even though, deep down, Haru had planned to use him from the start.

When he gently stroked Ji Yeon-woo’s hair, the grip clinging to him only grew stronger. He was surprised by how firm the arms wrapped around his waist felt.

By the time Ji Yeon-woo’s lips were soaked with tears, he finally opened them, trembling.

“Everyone kept saying you must be dead… but I didn’t believe them. I just knew—you’d still be alive.”

There weren’t many who truly believed Lee Haru had survived. When Kang Min had entrusted Ji Yeon-woo to the Association President, he overheard some of the Espers assigned to guard him talking. They’d been whispering to each other, but Ji Yeon-woo had grown used to being alert to others and had sharp hearing.

“Shouldn’t we assume Guide Lee Haru’s dead by now? They said he got sucked into the Gate. No way a Guide survives there. Unless it was, like, a D-rank dungeon or something.”

“Right? Might as well call him dead. I bet barely anyone even shows up to his funeral. That place is probably going to be empty.”

To Ji Yeon-woo, Lee Haru was his savior. He couldn’t stand how carelessly they spoke of someone so precious. When he glared at them through tear-filled eyes, they seemed to sense it and awkwardly cleared their throats, straightening their postures.

The fact that Lee Haru had been kidnapped was top secret. Just hearing them talk about it meant they were fairly high up. From what Ji Yeon-woo had seen, they were clearly the Association President’s right-hand men. Their dismissive attitude toward Haru’s survival was largely influenced by the President.

“We’ve already lost one S-rank Guide. That means expectations for you are going to be even higher now.”

Ji Yeon-woo hadn’t had many one-on-one moments with the Association President. But whenever he did, the man would tap his arm and talk about what lay ahead. It was clear he’d already written off Lee Haru as dead. And every time, Ji Yeon-woo had to fight hard to suppress the fury boiling inside.

They were all wrong. Lee Haru was alive—just as he’d hoped. And now, those warm hands that reached out to comfort him… felt so good.

He had always been kind. And I, defenseless against kindness, couldn’t help but fall for him completely.

“At this rate, you’re going to end up dehydrated. You’ve got to stop crying.”

At the voice filled with concern, Ji Yeon-woo worked to steady his heaving chest. When he finally lifted his head, he saw Haru’s shoulder drenched in his tears.

“…I’m sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing for crying over me? If anything, I should be the one thanking you.”

Lee Haru gently brushed away the tears still clinging to the corners of Ji Yeon-woo’s eyes with his thumb. Just as he’d feared, the rims of his eyes were completely red.

As soon as he wiped the tears away, fresh droplets welled up again. He raised his sleeve and softly dabbed the area around his swollen eyes.

“But… how did you end up here? Don’t tell me…”

He almost asked if Hong Seong-jun had kidnapped him—but held his tongue. He knew the truth about Hong Seong-jun, but Ji Yeon-woo didn’t. Not yet. He wasn’t sure whether it was the right time to be honest. Besides, he still had to pretend to like Hong Seong-jun.

What if telling him the truth only made Ji Yeon-woo more confused?

He wasn’t even sure if Hong Seong-jun had abducted him while showing his real face.

“Are we really the only two here right now?”

Ji Yeon-woo scanned the surroundings on his own terms. They couldn’t let the leader of Black find out about the plan he had made with Kang Min and Yu Je-hyun.

“I thought I was alone. I was in the living room, on the sofa.”

After a brief encounter with Yu Je-hyun, Lee Haru had stopped sleeping in the bedroom and had started using the living room sofa as a bed.
That’s where he had been when he met Yu Je-hyun—so he had stayed there, just in case.

He dozed off there again today. Then, suddenly, he heard the sound—and was completely startled.

At first, he thought he was dreaming. After all, it made no sense that Hong Seong-jun would be locked up in a room, banging on the door.

But then he recognized the voice—it was familiar. And it was calling his name.

“Still, just in case… is it okay if I take a quick look around?”

“Of course.”

Ji Yeon-woo took Lee Haru’s hand. Haru also gave a light squeeze in return and began showing him around the house.

“Other than the fact that I can’t go outside, it’s pretty much like a regular house.”

Lee Haru had been confined here long enough for the place to start feeling familiar. His skin, untouched by sunlight for so long, was not just pale—it was nearly translucent.

Just as Haru had said, once Ji Yeon-woo confirmed that the large space held only the two of them, he finally stopped walking.

“There’s something I need to tell you. But…”

Even after confirming they were alone, Ji Yeon-woo still looked uneasy. If there were any listening devices, their entire plan would fall apart.

“You’re worried someone might be listening, right? Then let’s do this.”

Speaking in a whisper, Lee Haru gently lifted Ji Yeon-woo’s left hand. Grinning wide, he used his index finger like a pen to trace a single character onto his palm.

“Guess what I just wrote?”

“Uh… ‘Hi’…?”

“Correct. If you want to say something, write it on my palm. Take your time.”

It was a clever idea. Ji Yeon-woo wiped the sweat from his hand on his pants before taking Haru’s hand and turning his palm upward.

Lee Haru read each letter carefully as Ji Yeon-woo slowly traced them out with his finger.

[Espers Kang Min and Yu Je-hyun will come rescue us soon. There’s a tracker inside my body.]

Haru’s eyes widened. His large pupils darted between Ji Yeon-woo’s face and his stomach.

“…No way.”

Only then did Haru realize that Ji Yeon-woo had let himself be captured on purpose. He had made himself bait so they could come rescue Haru.

Lee Haru pulled Ji Yeon-woo into a tight hug. This time, Ji Yeon-woo was the one being embraced, and his eyes shook violently, like an earthquake had hit.

“Thank you. You must’ve been really scared.”

Given how long Ji Yeon-woo had been held by Black, getting kidnapped again must have been terrifying. And while the plan was certainly bold, there was always the risk—what if they found the tracker right away?

“…I just wanted to do something. You were always the one helping me.”

How could someone be this kind? To be honest, Haru hadn’t really done anything specifically for Ji Yeon-woo.

The reason all the characters—especially the semes—had come to rescue him was because Ji Yeon-woo was the main bottom of the novel. Yet Ji Yeon-woo seemed to believe that Haru was the reason he’d been rescued from Black.

Maybe now I really won’t die so easily.

First, the main bottom Ji Yeon-woo clearly had strong feelings for him. And as for Yu Je-hyun… well, they had kissed.

Maybe to someone like Yu Je-hyun, a kiss was no different than holding hands. But to Haru, it was a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Besides, that abnormally gaunt face of Yu Je-hyun’s was still burned vividly into Haru’s mind.

He hadn’t exactly confessed, “I like you.” But even without any dating experience, Haru could feel the desire in the way Yu Je-hyun had looked at him. The breathless way their tongues had collided still lingered vividly, making the back of his neck flush red.

And then what—he’s going to turn around and say he likes Ji Yeon-woo?

He won’t let that slide. He might actually go full-on villain and snap.

But still… I don’t think I could ever really hate Ji Yeon-woo.

I Possessed a Promiscuous Guide

Status: Completed Author: Released: Free chapters released every Tuesday
After a sudden accident, I woke up inside a BL novel. Not just any character either—but the notoriously promiscuous guide infamous for sleeping around. And in the body of Lee Haru, a man burdened with nothing but painful memories. “A possession without hardship isn’t a real possession.” Hardly anyone gets to enjoy a blissful life right after transmigrating. Main characters are meant to suffer, after all—it’s all part of their growth arc. After steeling himself to survive no matter what, he was sent out as a dedicated guide. And that’s when he came face-to-face with three Espers, exuding a chill so cold it could kill. “Ah, fuck. We’re stuck getting guided by that asshole for a while? Are you all out of your damn minds?” Predictably, not a warm welcome. Still, presentation is everything. “Thank you for the warm welcome!” At the booming greeting, all three of their faces crumpled. Maybe he overdid it. His survival instincts were already blaring red alerts. Can he really make it through a daily life surrounded by Espers who all seem to hate him?
