#109
Taemin was walking through a forest in full bloom.
He was sure he had come to the hospital because of a headache, but suddenly he wondered why he was walking in such a place. With each step, the sweet fragrance surrounding him grew stronger, almost making his nose tingle. But it was nothing compared to Idam’s scent.
Eventually, a cocoon that looked like a flower bud appeared before Taemin’s eyes. It was smaller than him but still quite large. Intrigued, Taemin stroked the cocoon. At that moment, a wind blew. Flower petals scattered like snow, and the cocoon split open like a blooming flower, revealing a snow-white fairy emerging.
Orange-brown hair, skin as white and soft as snow, the delicate naked body seemed like the most beautiful curves in the world. The transparent wings on its back also felt mysteriously inhuman. But Taemin could clearly recognize who this fairy was.
‘Idam….’
As he uttered the name, the fairy fluttered its wings as if escaping and flew into the sky.
‘Don’t go.’
Anxious, Taemin followed to catch the fairy. He ran and ran. Desperate, Taemin reached out his hand.
‘I love you.’
‘……’
‘Idam, I love you. I like you. I like you so much.’
Taemin called out at the top of his lungs, but Idam flew away without looking back. Overcome with frustration, Taemin collapsed on the spot. Then, a small shadow fell beside him, and something toddled over. It grasped Taemin’s index finger.
‘Da… da…’
‘What… is this.’
Startled by the warm touch, Taemin looked down. He saw a small baby. It had orange hair like Idam’s and large blue eyes. Its face and body were round. The fluttering wings on its back were the same as Idam’s, who had flown away.
Usually, Taemin found babies troublesome and uninteresting, but strangely, he didn’t feel uncomfortable. Rather, it was the opposite. Taemin was about to extend both arms to hold the baby, as if drawn by a magnet. The innocent-looking baby suddenly made a sharp expression. And it kicked towards Taemin’s face.
‘Ugh.’
Taemin froze, unable to resist the hit. He couldn’t understand how this tiny thing could be so strong. But oddly, he didn’t dislike it. Perhaps he felt this way because the face resembled Idam’s.
Just then, he felt a soft presence and a sweet scent behind him. Taemin turned around. Idam, whom he thought had disappeared, was there.
‘Huh?’
But this fairy started to cry. It was strange. Usually, when Taemin saw Idam’s crying face, he felt incredibly aroused, but now it felt like a knife was stabbing his chest. Taemin cautiously spoke to Idam.
‘Why are you crying?’
‘Because you don’t remember what you said to me that night.’
It seemed to be referring to the moment when the rut cycle had come.
‘No, I remember. I’ll tell you.’
In truth, he was still clueless, but he had a sense of what mischief he had done. However, the fairy retreated with a face full of doubt.
‘I know you’re lying.’
‘No, actually, I… you…’
Just as Taemin was about to say the crucial words, that damn wind blew once more, and in the blink of an eye, the fairy disappeared. The baby who had been kicking him with short legs was also gone.
‘Where… where did you go?’
Perplexed, Taemin looked around for Idam. But Idam was nowhere to be seen.
He needed to wipe away those tears… to comfort him…
The flame in his chest grew stronger due to the longing.
* * *
“Idam… Idam… my omega…”
Taemin trembled with his eyes closed. He reached out his hand desperately. But his long fingers only grasped at empty air. Slowly, his eyes opened. The forest had vanid, and a silent ceiling greeted him.
“Haa…”
Only then did Taemin look around with a complicated expression. He saw the interior of a VIP hospital room.
Yesterday, complaining of a headache, Taemin had gone to the neurosurgery department and undergone several tests. Normally, results would take a week, but in typical Baekwol Corporation fashion, they were able to check quickly. Surprisingly, it wasn’t a serious injury; as Im Hoyoung had diagnosed, it was just a scalp abrasion.
However, Taemin had no energy to move. The sense of loss from losing Idam was greater than he had imagined. So Secretary Kang thought it would be best for Taemin to rest in the hospital for the day, and Taemin agreed to arrange a room. Taemin had tossed and turned all night, finally falling asleep around dawn.
And he had had this strange dream. What was that small baby that kicked his face? Above all…
‘Because you don’t remember.’
Idam’s voice, filled with sorrow, came to mind. A deep sense of guilt seemed to creep up and constrict him. As he touched his head, tightly wrapped in bandages due to the discomfort…
Knock knock.
“CEO, are you awake?”
Secretary Kang’s voice rang out along with the knocking sound. Taemin found it bothersome to deal with him, but thinking he might hear news about Idam, he told him to come in. Secretary Kang entered the hospital room, looking cautious.
“Did you get some sleep?”
“I did sleep.”
Taemin touched his head as he raised his upper body. Secretary Kang looked at him with pity. But strangely, even though he was weakened, his unique dignity was still alive, which felt odd.
“How’s your head? Does it hurt?”
“It’s fine.”
“How about your stomach?”
“It’s fine.”
“I’ll have them bring up a meal soon.”
“No, it’s okay. I don’t have the strength to eat.”
Taemin’s voice was full of fatigue as he refused.
“But you should eat something.”
“More importantly, have you found Yeo Idam?”
For Taemin, Idam’s whereabouts were more important than anything going into his mouth right now. Secretary Kang cleared his throat once before continuing.
“I received a somewhat surprising report.”
“What is it?”
“We’re currently monitoring Rickdi, and in the process, we discovered Yeo Idam.”
“Shit, were they together?”
Taemin asked with highly sensitive eyes.
“No, that’s not it. It seems Rickdi is unilaterally following Yeo Idam.”
“Why is that bastard acting up again?”
Taemin frowned, feeling uneasy. Secretary Kang seemed to share the same sentiment but continued his official report.
“And it seems Yeo Idam went to the hospital.”
“What hospital? Did the foot injury get worse?”
Taemin, making his own assumptions, showed all sorts of fatherly concerns, saying Idam should be treated by a more competent doctor, that the wound shouldn’t get worse, that he should be prevented from walking altogether.
“It’s not that, he went to the obstetrics and gynecology department.”
“Obstetrics and gynecology?”
Taemin seemed taken aback and couldn’t continue speaking for a moment. But soon, as if guessing something, strength returned to his eyes.
“Where is that hospital? Let’s go right now.”
“What? Right now?”
“Yes.”
Taemin hurriedly got out of bed.
“If I catch him this time, I’ll never let go.”
A storm brewed in his eyes.
* * *
Idam, who had just left the obstetrics and gynecology department, got on the elevator with a blank expression. He recalled the conversation he had with the female doctor just moments ago.
‘I… I’m pregnant… I can’t believe it. Am I not an extreme recessive omega?’
Remembering all the hardships he had endured due to his trait since manifesting, he asked again, unable to believe the doctor’s words. The female doctor seemed to share Idam’s thoughts and looked at the test results once more.
‘Well, Mr. Yeo Idam, your trait is indeed an extreme recessive omega. As you know, extreme recessive omegas are infertile. They have a uterus, but its function is dormant. However, your uterus is as healthy and strong as that of a dominant omega. It’s as if it has been given life.’
‘What? My uterus is strong?’
‘Yes, both pregnancy and childbirth are possible without any issues. As a result, the baby has settled in stably. This is my first time seeing such a case, so it’s fascinating. Did you have intercourse during your heat?’
‘Yes. He was in his rut cycle.’
‘I see… I’m asking to calculate the gestational age, but when was that approximately?’
Idam recalled the date of his birthday, which was also when Taemin’s rut cycle had begun, and answered. The female doctor tilted her head, seeming even more puzzled.
‘My goodness… If that’s the case, the pregnancy is quite early.’
‘Early?’
‘Yes. Omegas have been highly fertile since ancient times. Unlike betas, implantation occurs two days after fertilization, and pregnancy tends to happen quickly, but in your case, it’s remarkably early. What’s the trait of your alpha partner?’
‘He’s an extreme dominant alpha.’
‘Wow. That’s an exceptional trait. I wonder if that influence made the pregnancy succeed even faster. To determine the exact cause, we’d need to examine that alpha as well. Would it be possible for him to visit?’
‘Ah… That… might be difficult.’
Idam answered glumly. The female doctor, seeming to sense something, remained silent for a moment before continuing.
‘Then there’s no need for him to visit. We can find out the cause through other methods.’
‘I see…’
‘Currently, the gestational sac is too small to be seen on an abdominal ultrasound. You should come back in about two weeks. We’ll be able to give you an estimated due date then, depending on the situation.’
‘Alright, I understand.’
‘Also, your pheromone levels might suddenly rise, leading to situations where you can’t control them. But don’t panic if that happens.’
‘Oh, doctor, I’m not producing any pheromones at all right now?’
‘Yes. When we checked your pheromone levels earlier, they weren’t measurable at all.’
‘Why is this happening to me?’
‘It’s one of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy. Some people experience this, so there’s no need to worry too much.’
‘Ah… I see.’
Suddenly, Idam remembered that when he was in Jihwado, Sujeong’s sister also had trouble with not producing pheromones in early pregnancy. Only then did Idam feel relieved.
The female doctor provided detailed instructions on what to be careful about during early pregnancy and what was needed, along with a booklet summarizing this information. also gave him a pregnancy confirmation certificate and a printout with the date of his next appointment. Usually, this information would be sent via text message, but Idam had made an excuse that his phone was broken.
Idam felt strange as he faced a miracle he thought would never happen in his lifetime.
If Taemin felt the same way as him, he would be overjoyed, but it was sad that this couldn’t be the reality.
While Idam was momentarily depressed, the elevator arrived at the first floor. He left the building and headed towards Hayun’s house.
Meanwhile, a black sedan pulled up in front of the obstetrics and gynecology department. The door opened, and Secretary Kang and Taemin got out.
* * *
“Welcome…”
The nurse couldn’t finish her greeting. A man who looked like a gangster to anyone’s eyes, and another man with noble features but a sharp gaze, had barged in. Neither of them looked like an omega.
“How can I help you?”
“Is there an omega named Yeo Idam here?”
Taemin hurriedly threw out the question.
“Pardon? That person received treatment and left just a moment ago.”
“Then, who’s the doctor who treated Yeo Idam?”
Taemin’s expression grew even rougher. The frightened nurse pointed to the consultation room door. Taemin immediately opened the door as if he was going to tear it off. The female doctor, who had been looking at the monitor, became wide-eyed like a startled rabbit at Taemin’s sudden appearance.
“Who… who are you?”
“Why did Yeo Idam come here?”
“Pardon? I can’t disclose personal information carelessly.”
“Fuck! Answer me while I’m asking nicely!”
Taemin grabbed the monitor the female doctor had been looking at and threw it. His behavior was beyond rude. Sensing that this could lead to serious trouble, the female doctor spoke with a terrified face.
“Pre… pregnancy… 2 weeks…”
“Pregnancy? You’re saying Yeo Idam is pregnant? Is that really true?”
Taemin’s eyes shook even more.
“Ye… yes…”
The female doctor nodded, trembling.
“Hahaha!”
At the same time, Taemin grabbed his forehead and started laughing like a madman.
Taemin is a madman 🤣🤣 Now our bby Idam is preggy and still playing the cat and mouse game.
