Chapter 6
As his vision darkened, his other senses became more acute. Feeling strange under the gaze upon him, he closed his eyes. But even with his eyes closed, the gaze touching his face was as vivid as if he could grasp it with his hand.
The videos that Manager Do had shown him swirled chaotically in his mind. He could feel Hyun-oh’s breath on his face, gently brushing like a spring breeze.
Eunsol held his breath, waiting for Hyun-oh to touch his body. Even though he had learned from the videos, he couldn’t muster the courage to reach out to Hyun-oh first.
All he could do was obediently stiffen his body; it was the best he could manage.
He couldn’t tell how much time had passed. The bedroom, with just the two of them, was silent. So silent that even the smallest breaths accumulated and filled his ears.
When Eunsol finally opened his eyes, which he had tightly closed, Hyun-oh was still quietly looking down at him from the same place as before he closed his eyes.
With the light behind him, his light-colored eyes looked like the night sky where even the moonlight had disappeared.
“Looking closely…”
It was much later when Hyun-oh, who had been looking at Eunsol as if time had stopped, spoke.
“…you look even younger.”
Before Eunsol could think about what Hyun-oh meant, the shadow that had been cast over his body vanished.
With those words, Hyun-oh took his place beside Eunsol and lay down.
Eunsol just lay on the bed in his disheveled clothes, blankly staring at the ceiling.
No matter what Hyun-oh’s intentions were with his words, Eunsol felt like an invisible line had been drawn between them.
Eunsol hesitantly got up and sat down. The towel that had been covering his body completely fell away, exposing his upper body.
But he didn’t think to cover his body as he had before. Because the man who was in the room with Eunsol had already firmly closed his eyes.
Even in the tension, Eunsol’s body reacted to Hyun-oh’s pheromones. It was a separate reaction from the fact that Hyun-oh was still difficult and frightening. He wasn’t unaware of how idealistic the thought was that love was necessary to match below.
Hyun-oh didn’t love Eunsol either, so he really wasn’t sexually attracted to him. The time he had hurriedly tried to fix his appearance before Hyun-oh came out had been in vain.
‘Am I… not attractive?’
Eunsol was only twenty years old. While it was true that Omegas tended to marry early, even considering that, it was a fact that Eunsol had married at a young age.
Moreover, if it hadn’t been for Hyun-oh, he would have married a man who was like a grandfather to him, old enough to be his grandfather.
That man liked Eunsol’s young age. The voice of his brother, who had constantly said that he could occupy the seat next to the chairman because of his young age, still echoed clearly in his ears.
‘But why…’
He felt heavy-hearted, unable to understand why this man talked as if Eunsol’s young age was a hindrance.
Eunsol wanted to know more about Hyun-oh. Not just the physical relationship as a couple, but his favorite foods, songs, and other preferences.
Even if it was a relationship formed by contract, was it too greedy to hope that the relationship would progress now that they were married?
Lying in the same bed, he felt Hyun-oh’s pheromones more strongly than ever. It wasn’t that he intentionally released his pheromones. His naturally emitted pheromones were just that strong.
The only Alpha pheromones Eunsol had properly experienced in his life were from his father.
Every time, he felt so nauseous that he wanted to vomit immediately.
But with Hyun-oh’s pheromones, the more he experienced them, the more he wanted to inhale them deeply.
To the point where he unconsciously thought that the pine scent permeating the room should also seep into his body.
His depressed gaze lingered on Hyun-oh’s face for a long time. Eunsol only quietly moved to curl up on one side of the bed after his heated body cooled down.
He had a small desire. Without turning his back on Hyun-oh, he kept looking at him, putting his face on his hands clasped together.
The straight yet smooth nose bridge and lips of a pleasing thickness. Clean skin without a single pore visible and clear eyes with a light shadow under them.
Eunsol examined Hyun-oh’s face in detail. Then, at some point, he realized that his pheromones were blending with the cool pine scent.
Mixing the pheromones of an Alpha and an Omega was as intimate an act as sharing each other’s breath.
‘I’ll only be greedy for this.’
Eunsol should have been grateful that Hyun-oh came to find him alone in the room and reached out to him. Since Hyun-oh had drawn a line, Eunsol couldn’t cross that line, ignoring his heart.
But… he wanted to believe that what was happening now was a natural occurrence because they were sleeping in the same room.
After all, he was an Omega who found it difficult to control his pheromones. Even if Hyun-oh opened his eyes and realized that his pheromones were filling the room, wouldn’t he understand?
Eunsol’s world had been only his family before he met Hyun-oh. He wanted to fully accept Hyun-oh, who had taken a big step into his very small world, because the person he could lean on now was no longer his family but him.
Eunsol slowly closed his eyes and gradually relaxed the tension in his body and mind. The soft and sweet Omega pheromones, carrying a faint scent, began to color the large bedroom as they brushed against Hyun-oh’s body.
* * *
“What is all this…?”
“These are clothes and simple accessories sent by the Director. I also received instructions to prepare all the necessary furniture and items within the day.”
As soon as Eunsol opened his eyes in the morning, he discovered the empty space beside him and let out a small sigh.
On the bedside table, there was a silent desk clock. The time displayed on the clock was 06:58.
Even though it was early, Hyun-oh had already left the house a long time ago. The only presence in the large house was Eunsol.
Instead of lingering on the bed, Eunsol got up early and sat on the living room sofa, blankly killing time.
When the road outside the large window was filled with cars, a doorbell rang from the entrance. It was the moment when the time that had been flowing without any stimulation was shattered.
The visitor to the place Eunsol had been keeping alone was Kim Myungjun.
He didn’t come alone. Following Kim Myungjun, numerous people appeared, carrying racks full of clothes. There were also those carrying boxes of different sizes stacked like towers.
In the blink of an eye, the spacious living room was filled with a scene as if a famous boutique had been moved in.
“You can choose from these.”
Eunsol took the tablet PC handed to him by Kim Myungjun with a dazed expression. Even on the screen, the expensive furniture and accessories like watches that Kim Myungjun had carefully selected were showing off their grandeur.
“I don’t need these things…”
It was too excessive. Eunsol was usually satisfied with just a few clothes to wear. Each item seemed so luxurious that he couldn’t even imagine how much they cost.
Even though he had grown up in a wealthy family, he had seen things. Everywhere except his room was filled with items worth millions, so naturally, his eye for judging items had become high.
“This is not only for Eunsol but also for the Director. It doesn’t make sense for the Director’s spouse to live in poor conditions.”
It was a remark that pointed out the reality. At that moment, Eunsol clearly realized that Kim Myungjun was a person who served Hyun-oh.
The items in here were not for Eunsol. Thinking that way, everything made sense.
“…Yes.”
Eunsol nodded and picked out suitable items from the tablet PC. Since Kim Myungjun had categorized the items in a checkbox format for easy selection, it didn’t take long to choose dozens of items.
“The people who will clean the house are scheduled to visit three times a week, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. During that time, you can go out, or you can stay in your room. If you don’t want to be disturbed, you can lock the door. I’ll let them know in advance.”
“…You don’t have to worry about me. I can be on the balcony during that time.”
Since the cleaning staff wouldn’t clean all the rooms simultaneously, moving around the space would suffice.
“Then I’ll proceed with that. And there’s another matter the Director instructed me to ask for your opinion…”
Kim Myungjun, who had been speaking smoothly without hesitation, paused for a moment. Only after Eunsol nodded as if it was okay and smiled at Kim Myungjun did he continue.
“I know you graduated from high school through an equivalency examination. If you wish, we can assist you with university admission on our end. Or is there something else you want to learn?”
“Ah…”
It was something he hadn’t dared to think about. At home, they had only educated him to the extent that his lack of common sense wouldn’t be exposed when he was married off like a commodity.
“…Can I think about it a little more and tell you later?”
“Of course. Then I’ll put this matter on hold.”
He didn’t expect to plan his future by himself. Although he felt dazed, his heart rate gradually increased.
“And there’s a schedule for tonight.”
“A schedule?”
“Yes. There’s a gathering you need to attend with the Director.”
Eunsol picked up the glass of water on the table as his mouth felt parched. Even after quenching his thirst with water, the burning-like thirst wasn’t relieved at all.
“W-what time is it…?”
Although he was raised in a prestigious family, Eunsol had never properly engaged in social activities. He had only occasionally followed his father like a puppet without a will to small gatherings.
The thought of doing well made his voice tremble. He had expected that as his spouse, he would attend gatherings or parties together. But he didn’t expect such an event to be right before his eyes so soon.
“It’s at 7 p.m. I’ll set aside the clothes and accessories you’ll wear to the gathering tonight. Can I arrange the rest in the dressing room?”
“…Yes.”
At Kim Myungjun’s instruction, those who had been waiting on one side of the living room disappeared, carrying racks full of clothes.
“Then I’ll visit you again around 6 o’clock. If you look inside the tablet, there’s brief information about the people attending tonight’s gathering, so please take a look.”
After Kim Myungjun, who had politely bowed to Eunsol, disappeared, Eunsol held the half-empty glass of water and fell into thought.
‘Can I do well… I mustn’t make a mistake…’
He quietly recalled the gatherings or parties he had attended with his father. The problem was that none of them had ended with good memories.
The only thing Eunsol had learned from a few experiences was to stand still, holding his breath so as not to get caught in the sharp gazes of people. But this time, he couldn’t stand there foolishly as he had before.
Eunsol soon hardened his gaze as if determined and began to read carefully the information Kim Myungjun had left in the tablet PC.
He could endure being embarrassed because it was a familiar feeling. But he really didn’t want to cause harm to Hyun-oh.
