What?
Yeoul’s eyes shook violently at his surprise statement. Someone he likes…? What was he talking about?
Yeoul even picked at his ear, wondering if he had heard correctly.
“What’s wrong? Did something get in your ear?”
Eun Sajun looked at his ear curiously at Yeoul’s behavior. At the same time, their faces got closer and their lips almost touched. Yeoul, even more flustered, slightly turned his head away.
“No, it’s nothing. So… I…”
He wanted to ask back why he said such a thing, but he was too embarrassed to easily open his mouth. Also, that meaning of “like” might not be the sticky kind that Yeoul was thinking of, but could be words commonly used in partner-like business relationships, so an awkward situation might arise for no reason.
“Then that’s a relief.”
Eun Sajun touched Yeoul’s ear with an even softer face. It was such a gentle touch that it was hard to believe he had tried to destroy his ankle just moments before.
Before they knew it, the yellow sunlight had risen high enough to cover the world. The rippling waves were beautiful as if sprinkled with light powder.
Though it had been an absurd process, somehow he had ended up welcoming the new year with him. It was the first time in his life watching a sunrise together with someone like this. He thought he was experiencing all kinds of things in life.
* * *
Yeoul, who had returned to the villa, washed up, changed clothes, and had a simple breakfast. Then Eun Sajun said he had urgent business today, so they immediately moved to Seoul. Yeoul sat in the back seat of the sedan and looked out the window. Buildings began to appear in the quiet seaside scenery. He vividly realized they had come up to Seoul.
Since it was called a villa, he thought they would stay for several days. If he had known they would go to Seoul right away like this, he wouldn’t have caused all that commotion… It was quite bitter. Eun Sajun carefully took Yeoul’s hand.
“I wanted to stay a few more days, it’s really a shame.”
“It can’t be helped.”
“You got up early today so you must be tired. Rest at home.”
His words also contained the meaning not to go out alone.
“I’ll probably have a hard time coming home early today because of work too. Instead, I’ll play with you tomorrow.”
No… you don’t need to play with me. The words almost came out of his mouth for a moment, but he held back.
“Why aren’t you answering? Do you hate playing with me?”
Eun Sajun took Yeoul’s hand as if his pride was somewhat hurt. The touch caressing each joint was gentle, but somehow also creepy. Yeoul hurriedly shook his head.
“No. I like it.”
“Hmm…”
Eun Sajun frowned. Soon after, his lips reached Yeoul’s ear.
“Baby. I enjoy being with you.”
“……”
“So I hope you enjoy it too.”
He didn’t know what was supposed to be enjoyable. He was going crazy trying to hide his true nature right now.
“Ah… I understand.”
For now, he responded to get through this situation smoothly.
“That’s right. Our baby is good. So good.”
Soon Eun Sajun put his arm around Yeoul’s shoulder and patted him. Even this was so affectionate that it was bewildering.
In the midst of this, how could he meet Shin Taeon… His head felt like it would burst from the hopelessness.
* * *
“Hah…”
Yeoul, who had come to the mansion, sighed and sat on the bed. In the end, he had returned to this prison-like space.
He had barely found out the code… and this was how it turned out…
“Haah… This is driving me crazy…”
Yeoul, who had been deeply lamenting, grabbed his head with both hands and rolled around on the bed. He needed to rescue Yeojin, who was caught in Shin Taeon’s clutches, as soon as possible…
No wait. Isn’t now actually an opportunity since Eun Sajun isn’t here? If he just got out of here, he would never have to meet Eun Sajun again.
Strength returned to Yeoul’s round eyes. He tiptoed over and opened the bedroom door.
“Is there something you need?”
An unfamiliar man was standing there. He had dark brown hair, wore a black suit, and had a youthful appearance that seemed to be around Yeoul’s age. Surprised by the unfamiliar face, Yeoul stepped back in shock. Soon another burly man followed next to the young man. This man was a face he had often seen accompanying Eun Sajun.
He was usually stuck to Eun Sajun’s side like gum, so why was he here now? It was confusion itself.
“Hello, Baby-nim.”
Yeoul was shocked at the title “Baby-nim” that came from his mouth.
“Baby-nim? What are you talking about right now?”
“The CEO told us to call you Baby-nim from now on.”
It was already hard to put up with Eun Sajun calling him baby, but making other people use this title too – was he in his right mind?
“Crazy… Mmph.”
Yeoul was so dumbfounded that he shouted without realizing it, then covered his mouth with his hand thinking “oh no.” No matter how flustered he was, he couldn’t say such things.
“The CEO ordered us to guard Baby-nim, so we will start protection from today.”
“What?”
The statement from his mouth drove Yeoul into even greater shock.
“Why… why?”
“He said it was to prevent accidents that might occur when Baby-nim goes out. From now on, if you have any need to go out, please inform us of that business. We will carry it out instead.”
Though it was packaged in business-like language, it essentially meant prohibiting Yeoul from going outside alone.
“Do you need anything?”
“No… no… there’s nothing like that.”
“Yes. Then please rest well.”
The two bodyguards bowed 90 degrees at the waist. Yeoul looked at the tops of their heads with hopelessness and closed the door again. He felt dizzy from Eun Sajun’s unexpected crazy behavior.
“He really makes things difficult.”
Yeoul sighed and sat on the bed.
At the same time, the balcony inside the bedroom caught his eye. He remembered going out through there last time to destroy his phone. Couldn’t he go out that way?
Yeoul’s eyes, which had been soaked in despair, sparkled with excitement. He quickly got up from the bed and went out to the balcony.
“Ah…”
Hope turned to despair in an instant. Because five bodyguards were also lined up below the balcony.
“This is really crazy.”
It seemed Eun Sajun had made up his mind to lock him up for good. Yeoul grabbed his head with both hands in frustration. As he kept touching it, his hair became a mess.
“I’m screwed.”
He lay down on the bed as if collapsing from futility. As he rolled around this way and that, a decorative candlestick in the storage cabinet caught his eye.
Couldn’t he stab those men’s eyes with that?
A murderous aura rose in Yeoul’s round eyes, then he shook his head as if extinguishing a fire. No. This was only possible in a 1:1 situation. With so many people positioned now, even if Yeoul attacked, he wasn’t confident he could win.
He needed to meet Shin Taeon quickly… He wanted to at least make a phone call…
Yeoul took out his phone. Since it was a phone Eun Sajun had given him, he couldn’t contact people freely, and it was maddening in many ways. The despair was brief as strength entered Yeoul’s pupils.
No wait. Anyway, after meeting Shin Taeon, he would never see Eun Sajun again. Then, it wouldn’t matter what happened to this phone, would it? Yeoul’s eyes moved quickly.
Right. Let’s contact him. At this rate, he’ll just keep being trapped. He couldn’t waste any more time. Yeoul put strength in his hand and pressed Shin Taeon’s number. And just as he was about to press the call button.
“Aaaahhh!”
A scream was heard from outside. Yeoul’s eyes went completely wide. He quickly got down from the bed and opened the door. The bodyguards who had been standing firmly just moments before had disappeared somewhere.
“What?”
He felt the smell of blood along with gloomy air. Yeoul hurriedly came out and was about to go down the stairs leading to the first floor.
“It’s dangerous!”
Soon he felt a hand grabbing and pulling his wrist. At the same time, Yeoul was dragged along. He was brought back to the bedroom he had been in just before. And the person who had dragged him back here was the young man among the bodyguards who had been at the door earlier. His complexion was quite poor.
“There are intruders in the mansion right now.”
“Intruders?”
“Yes… From what I heard, they seem to be terrorists that CEO Eun dealt with when he was active in special forces before.”
“Gasp… Why did those terrorists come here?”
“I don’t know the detailed circumstances either, but they said cases like this happened occasionally. Until now, the attackers had gone to the company, but this is the first time they’ve invaded the mansion like this.”
“My goodness…”
Yeoul wondered why such a thing had to happen when he was here of all times.
“The CEO will be here soon. Until then, I will take responsibility for Baby-nim.”
Baby-nim.
Even in this urgent situation, Yeoul was dumbfounded by the title directed at him. But Baby-nim or whatever, he needed to meet Shin Taeon right now, and he didn’t know what this situation was. He was really annoyed.
