#03
With Eun Sajun’s unexpected appearance, Yeoul felt as if a cross had been driven into his heart. The blood flowing through his veins also surged rapidly. Yeoul first looked away from his phone. Before he knew it, Eun Sajun had come close. He looked at Yeoul with a pitying expression.
“You must be in a lot of pain.”
“No, it’s just…”
Perhaps because he was in a panic state, his fever rose even higher. He needed to calm down.
In the midst of this extreme situation, Yeoul’s phone started ringing again. It was another call from his uncle. He really had no sense of timing. Eun Sajun’s gaze also naturally fell on the phone. Yeoul hurriedly covered the phone screen. He needed to quickly set it to silent mode or something, but it was really troublesome in every way.
“Take the call. I’ll step outside.”
Eun Sajun tactfully withdrew and left the bedroom.
“Huh?”
As he obediently withdrew, Yeoul was momentarily flustered, but first he had to answer his uncle’s call. Worried that Eun Sajun might hear, he went through a door inside the bedroom. A bathroom spread out before him. It was decorated with many aquatic plants, as if an arboretum had been moved there intact. Yeoul briefly admired the scene unfolding before his eyes, then remembered and focused on the call again.
“Hello? Uncle.”
[Geum Yeoul, it’s me!]
A voice identical to his pierced through his ears. Geum Yeojin. His twin brother.
“Yeojin? You’re awake? How’s your body? Are you okay?”
[My head’s still a bit foggy, but there’s no problem living normally. More importantly, what’s this about Eun Sajun making some pregnancy contract with me?]
“Right… But when I heard from uncle, he said you never made such a contract. Is that really true?”
[Yeah. I just interviewed as a housekeeper and made that contract.]
Yeoul’s confusion deepened with Yeojin’s assertion.
“Then why is this person saying such things?”
It felt like suddenly being handed a huge bomb.
[Ha… I’m dumbfounded too. Well, according to uncle, you found the ring? Get out of there right away.]
“Ah, I only saw the ring. It’s not in my possession yet.”
Moreover, it had disappeared again, so he needed to search for it.
[Then give up on the ring and hurry up and run away.]
“……”
Eun Sajun was scary, but when it came to actually running away, he felt uncomfortable. Shin Taeon’s pressure was already intensifying, and this might really be a life-or-death situation.
“No. I’ll look for the ring.”
Since it had been in this room until just a while ago, he thought something might turn up if he searched here.
[If the situation doesn’t look good, beat up Eun Sajun. Remember when you messed up Park Hyeonjin in middle school.]
“Ah…”
At Yeojin’s words, a headache squeezed Yeoul’s head like a vice. It was as if he had inhaled black smoke, but it soon subsided.
“That’s ancient history. I almost got expelled because of that incident.”
Yeoul let out a deep sigh.
[But you protected me. It was really cool.]
“First, I’ll assess the situation well, check for the ring, and bring it out.”
[Looking at how that person is lying about a pregnancy contract, he seems like a pervert. Who knows what he might do to you using this as an excuse.]
Yeoul had the same thought. Along with that, he also recalled his sculpture-like naked body.
[If push comes to shove, beat him up.]
“Yeah. I’ll assess the situation and make a judgment. I need to look for it now.”
[It’s getting late, will that be possible?]
“Ah… actually, Eun Sajun told me to sleep here tonight.”
Yeoul conveyed how he had collapsed from signs of illness.
[What? That guy showed kindness?]
“Huh? Yeah… Why?”
At Yeojin’s seemingly surprised reaction, Yeoul’s head tilted unconsciously.
[No, no. I should rest now too. Then be careful.]
“Yeah. Got it.”
Yeojin’s silence bothered him for some reason, but he pretended not to notice and ended the call. He suddenly looked at his fingers. His slightly twisted pinky finger came into view. Yeoul swallowed his welling emotions and lowered his head.

“Yeojin, what’s wrong? Did you fight with Yeoul on the phone?”
Uncle looked anxiously at Yeojin sitting on the bed. The worry-filled face from the phone call with Yeoul earlier had disappeared, leaving only coldness.
“Yes.”
“Wow, Yeoul must be really bewildered. A pregnancy contract out of nowhere… How shocked that timid kid must be.”
Uncle wiped his forehead as if he were in Yeoul’s position. But Yeojin kept his lips tightly shut and stared out the window. Though they were the same eyes as Yeoul’s, a different kind of angry energy lingered.
“Uncle. Can extremely dominant alphas immediately tell whether an omega is recessive or dominant just by looking at them?”
“Are you worried that Eun Sajun might immediately notice Yeoul’s traits?”
Yeojin hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
“As expected of twins, you two think the same things. Yeoul asked the same question. Don’t worry. Unless they do tests at a hospital, they won’t know.”
“That’s right. Certainly, but…”
Yeojin’s brow furrowed deeply.
“But with Eun Sajun bringing up a pregnancy contract, there’s a risk of being caught. What about our Yeoul?”
Uncle’s face turned pale.
“We can only hope nothing happens.”
Yeojin twisted his lips menacingly.

Coming out of the bathroom, Yeoul carefully surveyed the bedroom. He thought Eun Sajun would be there uncomfortably, but he was nowhere to be seen, having apparently left. Yeoul first felt relieved and sat on the bed. Such shocking events had happened in succession that his fever, which had gone down, seemed to be creeping back up.
A pregnancy contract out of nowhere. Moreover, Yeojin said he had never made such a contract. Why was Eun Sajun doing this? He really felt like a crazy bastard.
Let’s quickly find the ring and get out of here. Yeoul gathered his phone. Then he began rummaging through various places in the bedroom. But his eyes kept closing and his body felt heavy as if wearing wet clothes. Then he heard the sound of slippers dragging and a presence. It seemed like Eun Sajun was returning.
Yeoul hurriedly went back to the bed and lay down. As expected, the door opened and Eun Sajun entered. He had taken off his suit and changed into more comfortable homewear. Even so, his beauty was still exquisite.
“Finished with your call?”
“Yes…”
“I see.”
Eun Sajun approached the bed. Then he examined Yeoul’s face this way and that.
“How’s your body?”
“Ah… I think I’ll be fine after sleeping for a bit.”
Yeoul deliberately closed his eyes. Eun Sajun wouldn’t obediently send him home anyway. He was a crazy bastard who talked about non-existent contracts, so if he openly expressed wanting to go home, he might bind him even more tightly. So he first decided to give the impression that he would stay here for the night, then find the ring when his guard was down.
“Alright. Rest comfortably. I have some simple work to do, so I’ll be in the study.”
“Yes…”
At Yeoul’s answer, Eun Sajun left with a mysterious smile. At the same time, Yeoul felt his tension ease. Now he needed to get up and look for the ring again…
“Haam.”
A deep yawn suddenly came. His body became drowsy again at rapid speed. This was troublesome. Yeoul tried to fight off the approaching drowsiness, but as if anesthetized, his eyes closed involuntarily and he soon fell asleep.
How much time had passed like that?
“Huh!”
He opened his eyes as if having a seizure. He hurriedly sat up. The mood lighting was off and darkness had settled in the bedroom. Yeoul picked up his phone next to him and checked the time.
3:45 AM.
He had slept for about 5 hours. No matter how tired he was yesterday, what was he thinking falling asleep so defensively? Regret washed over him like waves.
He hurriedly got down from the bed. The quietness felt like an attack. To make escape easier, he didn’t put on slippers and tiptoed while rummaging through the bedroom drawers again. Only documents and miscellaneous items were visible. Where on earth was the ring?
Come to think of it, was Eun Sajun still working? Or was he sleeping in another room? Yeoul was guessing this and that as he surveyed the table.
“What are you doing now?”
A voice like an attack rang out.
Huh?
Yeoul turned his head in bewilderment to see Eun Sajun standing there.
“With your unwell body.”
Huh? Why is this guy who was supposed to be in the study here… Yeoul was flabbergasted. First of all, he was caught acting like a petty thief, so he felt like he was going crazy.
“I was looking for my phone.”
Yeoul stammered, feeling cold sweat spring from his forehead.
“Haneul-ssi, your phone was on the nightstand.”
“What? Really? I didn’t know.”
“Haneul-ssi is quite slow. I was next to you the whole time too.”
“What?”
Yeoul’s eyes widened. Next to him?
“It was uncomfortable trying to sleep in a different bed, so I stayed next to Haneul-ssi the whole time.”
“Huk!”
Yeoul’s eyes became surprised. It was dim and the bed was wide, so he had no idea he was next to him.
“I was hiding my presence as much as possible so I wouldn’t disturb your sleep.”
“Yes… ah…”
“How’s your body? Are you okay?”
“Yes… I’m much better.”
His body had actually improved a lot. Also, if he said he was still sick, he was anxious that he would continue to be entangled with Eun Sajun.
“Then sleep more. It’s still dawn.”
“Ah…”
“When morning comes, let’s write up the pregnancy contract.”
“What? A contract?”
Yeoul’s pupils shook.
“Didn’t we already write one?”
“We only agreed to contract, but we haven’t actually written up a contract yet.”
What? He had been acting as if they had already written up a contract, so it was bewildering. But conversely, it was also an opportunity to prevent things from getting worse. He needed to find the ring even more quickly and leave… Yeoul was anxiously pondering when.
“Let’s go back to bed.”
Eun Sajun grabbed Yeoul’s wrist. The ring on his index finger caught his eye. The ruby gem reflected in the mood lighting shone brilliantly. It was that ring Shin Taeon was looking for.
“Why are you looking at this ring like that?”
The eyes of Eun Sajun asking the question were somehow mysterious.
