#12
Yeoul’s body froze completely. He wondered what he had just heard and even dug into one ear. How could someone logically call another person by such a vile term? The situation was already crazy enough that he had to steal a glimpse of the tattoo carved on this alpha’s penis, making it seem even more insane.
“Ah.”
Eun Sajun also seemed to realize his mistake and quickly shook his head. He showed a flustered expression and swept up his bangs.
“Ah, I made a mistake. That’s not it. I meant for you to call me ‘jagi’ from now on. I’ll call you that way too.”
It was better than ‘dick’, but this form of address was also an enormous burden in itself. They weren’t even lovers. Following the kiss, it was confusion itself.
“Why. Why?”
“I thought it would be good for getting closer.”
Even so, having to call him ‘jagi’ – what kind of embarrassing form of address was this?
“Jagi-ya. Got it?”
Eun Sajun pinched Yeoul’s cheek with sly eyes. He felt even more bewildered, but why was this? It felt like being forced to hold an incredibly sweet candy in his mouth. He didn’t know why he felt this way either. It seemed crazy. In any case, he had to please Eun Sajun, so he had to obediently follow his suggestion.
“Ah, I understand.”
“You call me that too.”
“Me… me too?”
Eun Sajun nodded. Yeoul felt his mouth go dry, but just as he was trying to open his mouth with effort, rapid footsteps approached and the driver’s door opened wide.
“CEO-nim. Everything has been taken care of.”
It was Secretary Kim. Eun Sajun seemed to be conscious of Secretary Kim and didn’t press further, changing the subject.
“Is the scene cleanup finished too?”
“Yes.”
“Not a single drop of blood left behind?”
“Of course. We’ve completed restoring the scene as if nothing happened.”
“Good work.”
Facing their conversation, Yeoul thought that Eun Sajun seemed to be a person from a world more different from his own than he had imagined. That made his feelings even more complicated.
Soon Secretary Kim started the engine and the sedan departed.
* * *
Yeoul arrived at Eun Sajun’s mansion again. He had said there was a gathering, but it was quiet with no traces left, as if everyone had returned home. He had been worried about how to deal with guests if there were any, so it was fortunate. In the midst of this, the housekeeper approached.
“CEO-nim. The guests all returned to their respective homes 30 minutes ago.”
“I see.”
“However…”
The housekeeper seemed like she wanted to say something but was watching Yeoul’s reaction. Eun Sajun tilted his head even more puzzled.
“What is it?”
“I’ll tell you later.”
“Just say it now.”
He seemed frustrated, with irritation written on his face. The housekeeper also looked frightened and moved her lips before beginning to speak.
“Well… I barely managed to calm down Baek Cheonhui-ssi when he said he wanted to see you before leaving, CEO-nim.”
“Calm down? Did he do something?”
“He just raised his voice a little. Even when you said you were going out earlier, he tried desperately to stop you.”
“That’s true.”
From their conversation, Yeoul felt even more sorry and grateful to Eun Sajun. Had he wanted him that much? He wasn’t even a truly extremely recessive omega.
“So Baek Cheonhui-ssi went home?”
“Yes. He left with difficulty.”
“I see.”
Eun Sajun answered matter-of-factly. His expression showed he didn’t care about Baek Cheonhui at all. The housekeeper withdrew, apparently having work to do. Watching the housekeeper’s busy retreating figure felt strange. If it weren’t for the pregnancy contract, this might have been the work Yeoul was originally supposed to do.
“Now we need to draw up the contract, so go wait in the reception room.”
“Ah… yes. I understand.”
Yeoul nodded awkwardly.
* * *
Entering the reception room, Yeoul felt a strange sensation. To think he would return to the place he had fled from just ten days ago… He thought life was truly unpredictable.
The door opened and Eun Sajun entered. He was holding the tablet he had brought last time when suggesting they draw up a contract. Though he had no choice but to sign the contract, actually thinking about signing it made tension rise.
Eun Sajun sat directly in front of Yeoul. He touched the tablet and cast a glance.
“I have something I’m curious about before drawing up the contract.”
“Yes? What, what are you curious about…?”
Yeoul’s words trailed off due to excessive nervousness.
“Why did you run away last time?”
“Ah.”
At his question that came like an ambush, Yeoul’s breath caught. But it was a question he could reasonably ask. Distracted by Shin Taeon’s threats, he had forgotten about this situation he had created. Cold sweat began to form on Yeoul’s forehead. He quickly gulped down the orange juice the housekeeper had left behind.
Geum Yeoul! Think. Quickly think of a plausible answer!
After agonizing until his head felt like it would burst, Yeoul finally opened his mouth with difficulty.
“My… my younger sibling suddenly had an accident and I got a call that they were in the emergency room. So… I had no choice.”
“Ah, really? You must have been very shocked.”
Worry shadowed Eun Sajun’s face. It seemed his lie had worked. Yeoul sighed in relief and patted his chest.
“Yes… I was in a panic.”
“So that’s why we met at the hospital then.”
“That’s right.”
Yeoul nodded vigorously to add substance to his lie.
“But if that was the situation, you should have contacted me once things settled down somewhat. I was worried.”
“Ah… I was out of my mind. I’m sorry.”
Yeoul hunched his shoulders. Since he hadn’t expected to face him again like this, he regretted acting so irresponsibly at the time.
“But why did you suddenly change your mind?”
Another crisis came for his lie.
Naturally unable to mention anything related to Shin Taeon, Yeoul swallowed his saliva. But perhaps thanks to the lie he had prepared earlier, the next lie came easily.
“My sibling was in critical condition and I needed money.”
“As expected.”
Eun Sajun lifted the tablet as if he had anticipated this.
“I thought you’d say something like this.”
Huh? He thought I’d say something like this?
Yeoul felt something was twisted. Shouldn’t he have said something like “I thought so” or “I figured there might be such circumstances”?
“As I mentioned last time, if you successfully give birth, I promise to provide for you to live luxuriously for life.”
“Yes…”
“So please read the contract carefully and sign it.”
Eun Sajun held out the tablet with the screen filled with the contract. Yeoul swallowed his saliva. Though he had come to make a pregnancy contract to find out the code, one part of his heart felt heavy. He felt both anxiety about whether he could discover the code well and guilt about deceiving Eun Sajun.
But since he couldn’t avoid it, he began reading the clauses.
Party A was Eun Sajun and Party B was Yeoul. It was filled with typical contract content, but one clause caught his attention.
<Party A will only proceed with natural pregnancy with Party B.>
He was momentarily flustered, but he had heard that children conceived through natural pregnancy rather than IVF had a higher possibility of manifesting extremely recessive traits. Above all, to face his genitals, natural pregnancy was definitely more advantageous. But for some reason, remembering the kiss they had shared earlier made his chest tingle.
“Why? Is there any uncomfortable content?”
“No… no.”
He closed his mouth, worried that Eun Sajun might think it strange. Then he read another item.
<Party B is prohibited from drinking alcohol and coffee.>
Since it was a pregnancy contract, this was naturally an expected clause. Yeoul didn’t originally enjoy cigarettes or alcohol, and rarely drank coffee, so he passed over it lightly.
<If Party B lies to Party A, they must pay damages.>
“Huk.”
Hit right in the vital spot, Yeoul felt something stuck in his throat. Eun Sajun’s pupils also dilated in surprise at Yeoul’s suddenly pale complexion.
“What’s wrong? Are you sick somewhere?”
“Ah… no… this is… I mean…”
Yeoul opened and closed his mouth like a fish. He wondered whether he should bring up the damages. If he handled this wrong, he might dig his own grave.
When Yeoul couldn’t answer easily, Eun Sajun seemed to find it strange and his gaze turned to the tablet.
“Are you acting like this after seeing the damages clause?”
“Well…”
“Is there something our jagi is lying to me about?”
Eun Sajun smiled with fox-like eyes. Yeoul felt his heart being stabbed and then drilled through, shaking his head vigorously.
“No. I was just curious because it’s about money…”
“I heard that when making pregnancy contracts, there are often omegas who lie about their traits.”
Eok. Yeoul barely swallowed what almost became another groan.
“That clause was put in to prepare for such situations. But it doesn’t apply to our jagi, so you don’t need to worry.”
Eun Sajun seemed to thoroughly believe that Yeoul was an extremely recessive omega. Though cold sweat flowed down Yeoul’s forehead to the point he felt like fainting, he barely maintained his composure.
“Um… by any chance… how much would the damages be?”
Honestly, asking such a question was like stepping on a landmine himself, but he couldn’t bear the curiosity.
“That would be decided according to the severity of the lie.”
“Ha…”
At his overly subjective answer, Yeoul’s vision went dark. Is it right to sign this now? I’m planning to disappear once I find out the code carved on his penis… This seemed like it would become a big problem.
“Why are you hesitating so much?”
Eun Sajun tilted his head as Yeoul stiffened.
“No… well, you see.”
“Is there something that bothers you? Are you perhaps not an extremely recessive omega?”
“Yes… right… No! I am an extremely recessive omega!”
Yeoul shouted while sweating profusely. But when it came to signing, the damages clause was too frightening. It seemed like he would become a debtor to Eun Sajun while trying to avoid Shin Taeon.
“Don’t drag this out any longer and just sign.”
Speaking authoritatively, Eun Sajun placed his hand over Yeoul’s. Then he guided Yeoul’s finger to scribble a signature on the contract’s signature section.
“No! What are you doing right now!”
Shocked Yeoul shouted.
“It’s a signature you were going to make anyway, so why hesitate so much? You said you needed money.”
Eun Sajun answered calmly and gazed elegantly at the tablet screen.
“Well, now the contract is concluded.”
“Haah…”
Yeoul hung his head and grabbed his hair. He felt like he had been covered in volcanic ash. To carry out the mission given to him, he did have to draw up a contract. Should he talk to Shin Taeon about the damages issue? But there was no possibility that money lender would be helpful. He would definitely tell him to handle it himself.
“Don’t worry too much.”
Before he knew it, Eun Sajun was sitting next to Yeoul.
“If you’re honest with me, you won’t need to worry about things like damages.”
