Early in the morning, as he trudged out to the living room, his grandmother had a bright expression while clutching a heating device.
“What are you doing so early in the morning?”
“I think it broke down from being used for so long.”
“…So you slept in an ice cave last night?”

No wonder she seemed so excited to see him. His face automatically scrunched up at her exaggerated gestures as she dabbed at her tears with her sleeve and sobbed dramatically. Though she was joking around, his grandmother had undoubtedly suffered from the cold all night.
Floor heating wasn’t common in Japan. They typically warmed the air with radiators or electric heaters, which often made houses dry during winter.
‘She’s already all wrinkled, and now she’ll age even more this year.’ Recalling her previous words envying Korea’s warm ondol floors, he fiddled with the machine. After turning it off and on several times without response, it seemed completely broken.
“Let’s install a boiler in our house. I’ll pay for it.”
“Oh my, it’s not a matter of money, it’s a matter of time. It’s fine, just buy me a space heater from nearby.”
He was worried she might catch a cold. After massaging her cold hands and feet for a while, he hesitantly stood up.

Startled, he ended up spitting coffee everywhere. “I’m sorry!” After hurriedly cleaning up while receiving glares from the part-timer, he practically fled the convenience store.
The truth was, since being caught spying on A-Live last night, he had been ignoring Imun’s messages.
He had inadvertently read the KaTok that came around dawn, so Imun surely noticed he was deliberately not replying. It had seemed strange that Imun hadn’t said anything until now, but it appeared he had been waiting for a response in his own way.
I guess I should contact him now. If he avoided answering any longer, Imun might genuinely start to worry. After awkwardly staring at the continuously incoming messages, he set the box down on the ground.

Even after saying it himself, it was so presumptuous that he couldn’t bring himself to look up. A beat later, Imun’s bright laughter could be heard.
“If you want to take screenshots again in the future, let me know in advance. I’ll pose coolly-” “That’s enough! I won’t do it anymore!” Cutting off Imun’s predictable teasing, Hajun looked around for a nearby bench. The conversation seemed like it would go on for a while.
As soon as he settled down, Imun spoke up as if he’d been waiting.
-It’s really winter now… How can you still go around dressed so thinly?
“You should dress warmly yourself. Last time you were just wrapped in one flimsy blanket. What’s your schedule today?”
-Ah, I have an outdoor shoot, so I’m waiting for a bit. I was tired from waking up at dawn, but seeing your face made me feel better. How is this possible? Whenever I see you, I feel… recharged and energized.
“Well well, am I a portable battery?”
It seems like the embarrassing comments are increasing. After glaring at him as he smiled brightly, Hajun unconsciously softened his gaze. Imun was scolding him about his clothes, yet he himself was dressed even more lightly.
The wind was cold enough to make his fingertips numb as he held his iced coffee without a cup holder. Moreover, Seoul was even colder than Tokyo. He couldn’t help but worry about Imun, who was working outside since dawn in such chilly weather.
According to his plan, yesterday after finishing his stream, he had wanted to ask Imun a question.
“I heard you’re doing livestreams every day? Why are you pushing yourself so hard when you’re already busy with barely any time to sleep? Did your company order you to do this?”
-Haha. No, it’s just my own decision. Fans seemed to miss me when I wasn’t streaming, so I thought I should start doing it now. But don’t worry too much, it’s only temporary to do it every day. How did I look to you, hyung? Was my broadcast okay?
His skill at nonchalantly changing the subject was masterful. He had naturally assumed the company had ordered it, but hearing it was voluntary made his feelings even more complicated.
Considering whether to probe further, he just smiled and let it go. Imun was the type to speak up when things got too hard, so if he couldn’t bear it anymore, he’d be the first to complain.
