Stalkerizing – Chapter 74

[Killer wails sorrowfully toward Chasa.]

[Killer wails sorrowfully toward Chasa.]

[Killer wails sorrowfully toward Chasa.]

[General] lamy: What the hell?

[Killer wails sorrowfully toward Chasa.]

[General] lamy: Can you stop spamming already—ㅡㅡ

[Killer wails sorrowfully toward Chasa.]

Killer was as persistent as ever. The general chat quickly became flooded with emotion expressions, and the sound of wailing filled the interior. Players visiting the trading post grumbled about the noise, but Killer didn’t seem to care.

[General] CoconutChip: Hey, but why did you transfer servers?

Some people must have checked the server forums, as a few approached to ask.

A public character deletion duel. Just hearing those words was enough to spike dopamine levels. And it was happening during peak login hours, with the added twist that the supposed newbie turned out to be a high-ranking player from another server. All the elements for a spectacle were in place.

“Haa…”

Why the hell doesn’t this guy care about other people’s stares? His behavior was no different from a five-year-old throwing a tantrum. Like a kid crying in a store because they wanted a toy.

To make things worse, the emotional expression animation clearly showed who Killer was crying toward, making it impossible to just ignore.

[General] tracker: Ohhh, this is getting good.

[General] ChickenSandwich: This place is chaotic enough already. Take your lover’s quarrel elsewhere.

[General] cococo: Are they still rivals here? LOL.

People who had come to use the trading post and recognized Killer began gathering little by little to watch his antics. Meanwhile, Killer ignored every word directed at him and just kept crying like a man who believed the world was ending tomorrow.

As Sa-yoon searched for cooking ingredients, he moved toward the entrance as if to leave the building. The moment he did, Killer, who had been wailing on the floor, suddenly shot up and trailed after him.

[Killer wails sorrowfully toward Chasa.]

When using an emotion expression while walking, the animation itself gets skipped, leaving only the message. If left alone, Killer looked ready to follow him around sobbing until he logged out. Behind him, a few others who recognized Killer’s identity trailed along at a distance, watching the scene unfold like spectators.

Sa-yoon stopped in the middle of the road. The moment he did, Killer, who had been following behind, also halted.

[General] Chasa: Stop it.

At last, Killer, who had been wailing like a broken alarm clock, abruptly went silent. The flood of motion messages that had taken over the general chat disappeared, and despite the background music still playing, the sudden lack of crying made it feel eerily quiet.

[General] Chasa: Stop following me.

That remark wasn’t just directed at Killer—it was meant for all the spectators trailing behind him out of pure curiosity. Feeling awkward, they quickly scattered, all except for one.

[Killer shakes his head at Chasa.]

[Killer shakes his head at Chasa.]

[Killer shakes his head at Chasa.]

A dramatic rejection. Killer was using an emotion expression from last year’s Valentine’s Day event.

The supposedly adult male character clasped his hands behind his back, tilted his head, and shook it playfully with exaggerated cuteness. Just when Sa-yoon thought Killer was finally cooperating, he proved, yet again, to be utterly unpredictable.

How the hell did I end up with an online stalker like this…?

In the end, Sa-yoon sighed and resumed walking—his unwanted tail still firmly attached.

[Guild] GegulGegulFrog: It’s the Guild Master!

Crossing the bridge from the trading post led to the central plaza. Near the flowerbed in the middle—where players with nothing better to do usually gathered to chat—Reaper guild members were assembled.

A bright red poison frog spotted Chasa and came hopping over.

[Guild] GegulGegulFrog: Ah.

But the moment he saw Killer following behind, he quickly backstepped and returned to his spot.

[Guild] Chasa: What are you all doing here?

[Guild] Shokrates: Checking out my new outfit.

[Guild] Chasa: New outfit?

That was news worth perking up for. As Sa-yoon quickly approached, Shokrates changed outfits and did a spin.

He had recently altered his character’s appearance to a white-haired pretty boy, and the new outfit layered on top of it was just…

“Wow…”

It was awful.

His top consisted of nothing but a few brown leather straps crossing his torso, and the bottom was a ragged cloth that barely reached mid-thigh—more a tattered skirt than actual pants.

Then, Shokrates disabled the helmet-hiding option, revealing the previously invisible headgear.

The helmet looked like something straight out of ancient history, barely exposing his eyes, nose, and mouth. Long red tassels draped over the top. Give him a spear, and he’d be shouting “Sparta!” as he charged into battle.

Did it really need to be this historically accurate?

[Guild] Chasa: This drops from the treasure vault, right?

[Guild] Shokrates: Whoa, how’d you guess?

[Guild] Oath’s Vow: Just look at it. It screams treasure vault loot.

Wartum always had a tendency to drop the ball when things were going well. Did the designers have seasonal burnout every transition period? Or was it an issue higher up the chain?

The absurdly shirtless design made Sa-yoon pinch the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger.

“This is just terrible.”

And with that thought in mind, Sa-yoon typed in chat.

[Guild] Chasa: Who wants to run the War God’s Treasure Vault?

He had called it ugly—he never said he wouldn’t collect it.

As party applications started coming in, one of them stood out as odd.

[Guild] Chasa: Shokrates, didn’t you already go?

[Guild] Shokrates: Huh? I just bought this from the market.

[Guild] Shokrates: But it was stupid expensive.

[Guild] GegulGegulFrog: How much?

[Guild] Shokrates: 1200!

[Guild] Shokrates: There was a cape too, but I couldn’t afford it.

That made Sa-yoon open the temporary marketplace himself. He searched using the name Shokrates had given, and sure enough, a few listings popped up.

“Wow, these bastards are robbing people.”

The prices were outrageously high. If the outfit had actually looked good, maybe it would make sense—but it didn’t. In a short time, the value was bound to plummet.

[Guild] Freedeal: Wow, the cape’s at 2800? LMAO.

[Guild] Furple: The shoes are insane LOL. There’s only one listing, and it’s 4500.

[Guild] Oath’s Vow: You mean that rag?

[Guild] Shokrates: It’s not a rag! If you look closely, it’s actually pretty nice ㅇㅅT

[Guild] Oath’s Vow: I looked closely. It’s trash 🙂

[Guild] Shokrates: Please be gentle… Our dear Sparta has feelings.

[Guild] Furple: Bro, did you already name the look? LMAO.

Why anyone would pay that much for that, he had no idea. But it was their money, so whatever.

Still, despite its ugliness, Sa-yoon was curious. He circled around Shokrates to get a look at the back.

The outfit was so simple that it barely looked different from behind. He moved back to the front, zooming in to check if there were any finer details to the design.

[Guild] Furple: Ahhhhhhh LOLLLLLLLLLLLL.

[Guild] Freedeal: HOLY SHIT LOL.

[Guild] Shokrates: Oh, come on.

[Guild] GegulGegulFrog: The dedication, damn.

Shokrates jumped and quickly changed out of the outfit.

Meanwhile, Sa-yoon, who had just noticed that the leather straps had slots for attaching three additional parts, was left bewildered.

[Guild] Chasa: ?

[Guild] Freedeal: Look behind you ㅜ

Instinctively, Sa-yoon moved his mouse, and because he was still zoomed in, his screen was suddenly filled with a massive, well-defined chest.

“What the hell?”

He scrolled out to adjust his view—and there stood Killer, fully decked out in the War God’s Treasure Vault set.

Helmet, top, bottom, the overpriced cape Shokrates didn’t buy, and even the gladiator-style sandals covered in straps. The whole set.

Unlike Shokrates’ frail-looking frame, Killer’s broad shoulders and massive build made the outfit look surprisingly… fitting.

[Killer kneels and prays with solemn reverence.]

As Sa-yoon’s gaze landed on him, Killer suddenly dropped to his knees. With that movement, the long red tassels on his helmet swayed gently.

[Guild] Freedeal: This attention whore, I swear LOLLLLLLL.

[Guild] Shokrates: Ugh, we almost ended up in matching outfits. Disgusting.

[Guild] Furple: Did you buy that just to get Chasa’s attention?

[Guild] GegulGegulFrog: If you had that kind of money to waste, you should’ve just given it to me ㅜ.

Sa-yoon deeply agreed with that sentiment.

[General] Chasa: …

[Guild] Oath’s Vow: By the way, Chasa…

[Guild] Chasa: Yeah?

[Guild] Oath’s Vow: Are you really leaving the Guild Master behind?

Revealing his hidden nature, he sneered— “I bet this is how you always play it off when you get rejected after creeping on people. I’m the one being stalked here, so why the hell are you acting like the bigger person?” After being repeatedly accused, Sa-yoon’s patience snapped. “Alright, Shin-jae.
