[Notice] Follow-up Measures for the Pair Battlefield
Hello, Heroes.
This is General Director Oh Yoon-myung.
Thank you for your patience. We have reviewed all battle data to address concerns raised by many players regarding the Athens Duo Battlefield system.
As a result, we have identified a small number of users on certain servers who exhibited an abnormally high number of plays within a short period. We have taken action against accounts engaged in abnormal play, including the use of unauthorized programs.

Additionally, we have confirmed an issue where players of similar rank were continuously matched together when applying simultaneously. Under the current system structure, this problem could persist. To address this fundamentally, we plan to improve the battlefield system in stages.
The current season battlefield will conclude as of now, and the battlefield will be temporarily suspended during the restructuring period.
We sincerely apologize for any confusion caused due to shortcomings in the battlefield system. As a token of apology, we will be providing compensation to all users.

Furthermore, due to the removal of rankings for players who have been penalized for abnormal gameplay, the reward distribution tiers may be adjusted. Please take note of this change.

A gift icon I hadn’t seen before had appeared above my skill bar. It even had a flashing effect to make sure I wouldn’t miss it.
Clicking on it opened a window. It was the finalized ranking chart.

At the very top, my name gleamed beautifully.
When I pressed the claim rewards button, a notification sound played as the rewards were deposited into my inventory.
When I clicked on the golden chest, five reward boxes appeared. Hovering the mouse over them revealed their names—this one was a title box, that one was a consumables box, and this one was a mount… Guess being in first place really came with a lot of perks.
It wasn’t until I reached the last box that I finally found what I was looking for.

Impatient to check out the outfit as soon as possible, Sa-yoon grumbled. Even so, his hands kept clicking through the menus without hesitation.
At last, the box opened, and another small window popped up.

Clicking on each item brought up a preview of the outfit. The options were extensive—16 tops, 12 bottoms, 12 gloves, shoulders, and shoes, 14 weapons, and 25 accessory parts. The number of possible combinations was massive.
“Oh.”
Sa-yoon let out a small exclamation at the first top option.
It was the tuxedo reward exclusive to closed beta players. The design wasn’t particularly striking or beautiful, but when it came to customizing, nothing beat the original—and collectibles held value just by existing.
The second option was the open beta exclusive reward, another look that Sa-yoon had never been able to obtain since he started playing late. Checking the bottoms and other parts revealed that options 1 and 2 matched the tops exactly. By selecting the same numbers across all categories, he could assemble the full sets.
When he reached option 11, a hexagonal label suddenly appeared at the top right, reading “Custom-Designed Exclusive Outfit.” The same happened with option 12. Both were limited looks that would never be released as cash items or event rewards.
All the effort he had poured into this flashed before his eyes.
“Damn, all that grinding actually paid off…”
After reviewing all the options, Sa-yoon chose to equip the exclusive new set, number 11.
Since this reward outfit allowed him to switch to other appearances whenever he got tired of it, there was no need to agonize over his choice. It was practically like owning dozens of limited-edition outfits.

After selecting my outfit, I became curious about Killer’s choice, since he had received the same rewards. Surely, he didn’t turn his character into a peacock again…?
Fortunately, only five custom outfit parts could be selected. As I tested out the parts, I sighed in relief. At least the peacock disaster had been avoided.
Once I finished setting everything up, I headed toward the fountain. There was a noticeably crowded spot filled with people. No doubt—that had to be the fashion show. Without hesitation, I walked straight there.

As I got closer, the general chat scrolled at an insane speed.

Pushing through the crowd of characters, I finally spotted the MVP of this season.
Just as I found Killer, he also spotted me and came running over.
How the hell did he even find me in this massive crowd?
I quickly figured it out. Unlike me, who was decked out in the exclusive outfit, most of the spectators were wearing identical outfits in different colors—clearly, the duo battlefield reward set. It was common to see this right after an event.

Sa-yoon instinctively took a step back, momentarily overwhelmed by the sheer chaos of Killer’s outfit.
The visual noise from all those extra parts had disappeared. But even without them… Was this even a real look?
A high-collared top with a cutout exposing his midriff, paired with baggy pants reminiscent of a wandering beggar riding a magic carpet, completed with boots—this was his choice? The sheer audacity of it was almost impressive.
[General] Chasa: This was an option?
[General] Killer: If you go into the outfit settings, you can adjust the length and fit.
[General] Shokrates: Damn, 1st place rewards really hitting different.
No wonder I hadn’t seen anything like that before. Sa-yoon instinctively pressed his fingers to his forehead. How does someone take such an amazing reward and create… this?
[Whisper] Killer: I was just messing around.
As he fiddled with the settings, the top extended to a more reasonable length. But a loose-fitting top paired with loose-fitting pants was still a fashion disaster.
Then, the top changed again—this time to option #11, the one with a high collar and a tie. It was the same set Sa-yoon had equipped.

Even after cycling through several different outfits, each one was just another bizarre mix-and-match disaster. The sheer audacity of his choices was mind-blowing. Why the hell had he messed with the length and fit settings like that?
I didn’t want to understand. I couldn’t understand.
But Killer was the MVP of this event.
In the end, Sa-yoon squeezed his eyes shut and placed his hands on the keyboard with a resigned sigh.
