Of course, he didn’t say anything more since he knew the cause, but that’s exactly why he was furious.
That son of a bitch. That crazy bastard. That damned bastard. That bastard who deserves a beating. He just leaves after doing this? He truly deserves to be ground to death.
Even though Seo Yi-young had healing abilities, there should be limits, shouldn’t there? He couldn’t understand what Choi Do-jun was thinking, pushing someone to the brink of death like that. Whatever kind of people Choi Do-jun had been with before, Seo Yi-young definitely declined sex that risked his life like this.
It was also truly troublesome and humiliating to have to use his ability because of post-sex fatigue, of all things. But rather than groaning in pain like this, it seemed better to recover using his ability. No one else needed to know, but Seo Yi-young himself knew. His earlobes burned with shame.
Though no one was home, he couldn’t walk around naked, so he groaned as he wrapped the blanket around his body any way he could. Even with that small movement, his entire body’s muscles trembled and aching pain shot through him. Looking at the room, it seemed so big when trying to walk in this condition.
Damn this room, why is it so large?
Why does that Choi Do-jun bastard live in such a big room? He should be living in a tiny one-room apartment.
“…That son of a bitch, really…”
When he finally couldn’t hold back and cursed, his vocal cords felt rough, and he coughed involuntarily. That was natural, considering how much he had moaned yesterday. As he was rubbing his throat, about to use his ability, there was a clattering sound as the door opened.
“You’re awake.”
It was Choi Do-jun’s annoying voice. He might strangle Choi Do-jun if he saw his face right now. Seemingly unaware of Seo Yi-young’s feelings, Choi Do-jun appeared relaxed. The effects of yesterday’s intense sex didn’t seem to affect him at all.
“Using abilities outside the dungeon is a violation of hunter regulations.”
Choi Do-jun glanced at Seo Yi-young. After finishing his annoying remark, he put a plastic bag down on the nightstand. There was a rustling sound as he rummaged through the bag.
“I didn’t think it would be difficult enough for you to use your ability.”
“Who says I’m going to use it? I’m not having any trouble at all.”
Seo Yi-young stubbornly responded to Choi Do-jun’s provocation, with his gaze fixed on the plastic bag. But he regretted it immediately afterward.
What was his pride worth? He had put on unnecessary bravado. But he couldn’t honestly say he would use his ability because he was in that much pain.
Seo Yi-young couldn’t take his eyes off the water bottle Choi Do-jun took out of the bag, as if hypnotized. Seeing the water made his thirst feel even worse. He couldn’t bring himself to openly ask for it, but he couldn’t stop his gaze from lingering.
Kagagak, Choi Do-jun opened the cap and inserted a straw into it. He seemed to have a surprisingly neat personality. A straw, of all things. Such a refined item didn’t suit Choi Do-jun at all. It might be prejudice, but what could he do about having such thoughts?
So he’s going to drink it himself in front of a thirsty person? Seo Yi-young glared and gritted his teeth. Just as he thought Choi Do-jun would drink it, he held out the water bottle to Seo Yi-young. It was a completely nonchalant gesture.
Seo Yi-young, who had been planning to curse him out, opened his eyes wide at the unexpected situation.
“Drink.”
The pink straw shook slightly at the bottle’s mouth.
Seo Yi-young looked at it once, then at Choi Do-jun once. In a situation where he might collapse from thirst, what more was there to think about? Without hesitation, Seo Yi-young immediately put his mouth on the straw and drank. The cool water ran down his esophagus, and Seo Yi-young emptied the entire 500ml bottle without removing his mouth once.
When there was nothing left to suck up, a loud noise came from the straw. Only then did Seo Yi-young come to his senses and remove his mouth. He exhaled with satisfaction, feeling like he had barely survived. His throat, which had been as rough as sandpaper, felt much better.
For drinking so hastily, he hadn’t even choked. He realized it was because he drank through a straw, and simultaneously noticed that Choi Do-jun had been holding the bottle the entire time.
With his personality, I thought he’d throw it and say, “Hold it and drink yourself,” but it seems some conscience remains. Just as his evaluation of Choi Do-jun was about to change slightly:
“You sure drink a lot.”
At this reproachful comment, Seo Yi-young’s eyes immediately narrowed fiercely.
“You told me to drink.”
“I didn’t expect you to drink it all in one go.”
Choi Do-jun retorted with a shrug. It was truly petty. For just one bottle of water. How much could it cost?
“How much is it? I can just pay you for the water.”
“Forget it. Let’s not be petty over something like water.”
Seo Yi-young was dumbfounded by the casual response.
“You brought it up first.”
Sniff, sniff.
Even as he spoke, he was distracted by a persistent smell. It was savory, fragrant, and mouthwatering. Where was it coming from? His sense of smell must have gone crazy from extreme hunger.
“Can you eat food?”
Seo Yi-young blinked at the sudden question. His ears perked up at the mention of food. But why would he ask such a thing out of nowhere?
Grrrrrr.
A tremendous thundering sound came from his stomach. Choi Do-jun’s gaze shifted to Seo Yi-young’s abdomen. His face felt like it was on fire. But he couldn’t back down here. Seo Yi-young tried to act brazenly.
“Why ask such an obvious thing?”
When he asked with a very cracked voice, Choi Do-jun nodded his head toward the door.
“Steak.”
“Steak…?”
An unexpected menu came from Choi Do-jun’s mouth.
“Would porridge have been better?”
He never says anything nicely, does he? Seo Yi-young, his lips twitching, concluded that even if he were to kill Choi Do-jun, he should fill his stomach first. Just as he made this decision, another loud growling sound came from his stomach.
But a problem arose. He couldn’t use his ability in front of Choi Do-jun now, and he didn’t have the courage to somehow walk out of the room on his own power.
But a man must have guts. Even if he fell down while walking, he had to at least try.
Steeling his resolve determinedly, Seo Yi-young took a step, but bitter regret immediately followed. He stood up boldly, but instantly felt this wouldn’t work, though it was already too late. He tried to grab the nearby nightstand, but it was too far. Expecting to tumble to the floor while flailing his arms, Seo Yi-young squeezed his eyes shut.
Well, it might be for the best. After rolling once, he could use his ability. If Choi Do-jun mentioned regulation violations, he’d shove a fist in his mouth. The aching body would be temporary.
Though Seo Yi-young was expecting pain, it didn’t happen. When he cautiously opened his eyes, he found himself in Choi Do-jun’s arms. Had he luckily fallen toward Choi Do-jun? No. Choi Do-jun had deliberately caught Seo Yi-young as he was about to fall.
This was the same Choi Do-jun who had avoided him when he was falling at the regular exchange meeting before. His puzzlement must have been clearly visible on his face. Choi Do-jun raised an eyebrow.
“Is it that surprising?”
“Of course it is. What are you plotting?”
Seo Yi-young frowned.
“You complain even when I catch you.”
As he said that, he released his hand that was holding Seo Yi-young. Instantly losing balance, Seo Yi-young staggered. Normally, he would have stood up right away, but the situation was bad now. His thighs, where strength wasn’t properly entering, betrayed their owner’s expectations. His legs buckled with a flop. This time, he would surely roll on the floor.
But, once again, it defied expectations. He felt warm body heat on his forearm.
“Looking at your condition, it seems better to shut up and come quietly.”
“Shut u—WAAH!”
He was lifted up. Literally, Choi Do-jun easily lifted Seo Yi-young’s body with one arm. With his feet dangling in the air, being carried out to the living room, Seo Yi-young was so taken aback that he forgot what he was about to say.
The floor from the room to the dining area was white marble, shining immaculately without a speck of dust. It was so polished that it reflected their figures like a mirror.
The place he arrived at was a chair in front of the dining table. The house was large, but the dining table was relatively small. It was even smaller than what would be considered a two-person table, and this guess wasn’t wrong as the two chairs at the table were different in shape.
Does he eat alone here every day?
But his thoughts didn’t continue any further. This time, too, Choi Do-jun lightly set Seo Yi-young down on the chair and slightly lifted the chair to place it closer to the table. Even though Seo Yi-young’s weight couldn’t be that light, he didn’t seem strained at all, which was even more dumbfounding.
S-Class Hunter, that must be it.
“…Oh my, yes. If you want to show off your strength, this is how to do it, right?”
Choi Do-jun didn’t respond. It seemed more accurate to say he didn’t even think of responding.
As Choi Do-jun took out a box from a paper bag with something written in English, a strong savory butter smell wafted over. Saliva automatically pooled in his mouth.
“Since you seem not to know how to eat steak.”
The knife work was too troublesome. His fingers kept slipping because he couldn’t put strength into them, and Seo Yi-young didn’t have the patience to wait for that. Just as he was about to stab a chunk with his fork and put it in his mouth, a small piece of cut meat touched his lips.
It was Choi Do-jun again. What on earth was his intention in doing this? Unfamiliar with Choi Do-jun’s attitude, Seo Yi-young moved his body backward.
“Open your mouth.”
“…Didn’t you say to shut up?”
“Seems like you’re not that hungry yet.”
“…”
Seo Yi-young immediately closed his mouth. There seemed to be no benefit in provoking him further.
The red flesh was visible on the small cut surface. Isn’t it undercooked? Am I supposed to eat this? Is it okay to eat this? Seo Yi-young briefly conflicted as he looked at the meat in front of him. But that time wasn’t long.
Pride wasn’t important in the face of hunger. Even if it was in front of Choi Do-jun. He had doubts about whether he could eat something that looked so undercooked, but only after putting it in his mouth did he realize.
So this is it.
