My Soft Rice Cake 7

He’d been caught off guard by the vet saying they were going to do a fecal exam, and Go Hoon would never forget that chilling sensation of a long swab forcing its way into his anus.

So shocked in that instant, he had meant to shout, “Fuck!”, but all that came out was a strangled, desperate screech—“Eck!” Even worse, the swab remained lodged inside, twisting this way and that for what felt like forever. The pain was beyond words.

“Meowwrr…”

Only after the swab was removed could Go Hoon finally let out a groaning whimper.

“Rrrrummmble—”

As he turned around to loudly protest at the vet, Bae Jung-yoon reached out and pulled him into his arms.

“It’s okay, Kkongddeok-i.”

His small body was trembling with fury, but Jung-yoon’s gentle hand caressed him softly. Long fingers slid down his back, tapping gently along his hind legs to soothe his anger.

“Awooong—!”

But Hoon’s rage wouldn’t settle that easily. ‘No. Maybe it’s fine for you, but I’ve got a serious bone to pick with that guy.’ Go Hoon tried to squirm away from the bothersome Bae Jung-yoon, but those firm hands held him tight with no chance of escape.

“No, Kkongddeok. You can’t.”

With that stern tone, Bae Jung-yoon firmly reprimanded him, and Go Hoon had no choice but to give up on lunging at the vet, letting the tension drain from his body.

“Fortunately, I don’t see any parasites—he’s very clean.”

While the two of them squabbled, the vet finished the microscopic examination and delivered his conclusion.

Thankfully, the rest of the check-up went more smoothly.

After moving to the lab behind the exam room, Go Hoon was held down by two nurses while they drew blood and ran X-rays and ultrasound scans. As a result, the fur on his belly was completely shaved.

The bare, exposed pink skin felt oddly empty. To make matters worse, they said his claws were too long and trimmed every single one of them with the vet’s practiced hands.

“Aww, our Kkongddeok-i is such a good boy! Who’s this sweet little guy, huh?”

One nurse, who looked even younger than the bob-haired nurse beside her, chirped in a voice as bubbly as a preschool teacher’s. She kept praising Hoon endlessly.

He must have heard that same line dozens of times during the exam. He had tried to resist in his own way, but apparently his efforts barely registered compared to other cats.

The moment his body was finally unrestrained and placed back into the carrier, Hoon immediately began grooming himself, as if trying to wipe away every trace of those intrusive hands that had touched him.

Even though he still hadn’t fully adjusted to this instinctual action of licking his arms and legs, he couldn’t help himself—his body moved on its own.

It was no wonder. Those intrusive, unfiltered touches kept replaying in his mind. Things he’d never have experienced in a human body—so alien, so violating.

Especially since he was a man too, the fact that a female nurse’s hands had touched him all over gnawed at his nerves. Of course, to them, he was probably just some fluffy cat. That was all.

As Go Hoon diligently groomed his disheveled fur, Bae Jung-yoon gently stroked the scruff of his neck, quietly observing his behavior. The kit-based tests would take around 30 minutes, so after a brief wait in the lobby, they returned to the exam room.

“The biggest concerns—heartworm, panleukopenia, herpes—all came back negative. For a cat found on the street, he’s in remarkably good health. Not even overweight. But according to the antibody titer test, it looks like he hasn’t been vaccinated at all. There are zero antibodies present. Huh… that’s strange…”

The vet furrowed his brow, resting his chin on one hand. Sensing a gap, Bae Jung-yoon immediately asked,

“Is it possible for a house cat to not have been vaccinated?”

“Well… most owners do the basic shots at least. Honestly, in cases like this, even if he did have an owner, it makes you question how well he was cared for. But then again, judging by his condition, he doesn’t seem neglected…”

The vet scratched his cheek, pausing briefly, then clasped his hands and looked directly at Bae Jung-yoon.

“So, what do you plan to do with him?”

“Sorry?”

“I’m asking if you’re planning to continue taking care of him.”

Bae Jung-yoon glanced at Go Hoon, a look of hesitation on his face. It was a stark contrast to how confidently he had declared yesterday that they should live together. Clearly, the idea that Hoon might have an owner was weighing on him.

“Is there some kind of problem with Kkongddeok-i?”

Instead of answering, Bae Jung-yoon asked another question. The vet let out a soft sigh and began explaining in earnest.

“Based on his development, he looks like he’s about a year old—fully grown. Cats typically go into heat around six months of age. Females go into heat periodically, but for males, it’s more sporadic and spontaneous. During this period, they tend to spray urine to mark territory and wander around in search of a mate. Sometimes they even run away from home. So most people who raise cats from kittenhood get them neutered before their first heat. But in this guy’s case…”

The vet suddenly paused, then lifted the docile Hoon out of the carrier.

“He’s a full-grown male, and he hasn’t been neutered.”

With a dramatic flair, the vet swept up Hoon’s fluffy tail, bringing the story to its grand conclusion.

Caught off guard, Go Hoon blinked rapidly. At that exact moment, Bae Jung-yoon’s gaze landed somewhere—and it wasn’t just him. Every single person in the room, including the nurses, had their eyes locked on the same spot.

‘What the hell are they all staring at?’ As Go Hoon followed the synchronized direction of their gaze, he suddenly froze. Because what lay at the center of their attention… was none other than his junk.

Yes. His actual genitals. His cock. His dick. His penis.

“These right here are the testicles.”

As if that weren’t enough, the vet casually reached out and grabbed the round, bulging testicles without the slightest hesitation.

“Kyank!”

“Oh dear, did I scare you?”

‘Scare me?! You crazy bastard, how the hell could I NOT be scared?!’ Go Hoon glared at the vet in stunned disbelief after being publicly exposed and humiliated in front of everyone without warning.

“Oho, this one’s got quite the murderous stare.”

Even under that searing glare, the vet merely chuckled breezily and patted Hoon on the head.

“YAAANG!”

Aggravated, Hoon raised a paw and took a sharp swipe at the offending hand. But the vet, boasting a decade of experience with cats, nimbly dodged the incoming cat punch with practiced ease.

“Hoho, I thought you were docile, but turns out you’ve got a bit of temper after all.”

‘Smug bastard.’ Go Hoon’s eyes burned with fury.

“Kkongddeok, you can’t act like that toward the doctor.”

Bae Jung-yoon called out, trying to intervene—though the slight twitch at the corner of his lips betrayed his struggle to hold back laughter.

“If he really did run away from home, maybe it was because of being in heat,” the vet said calmly, continuing the explanation after the brief interruption. There was a strange glint in Bae Jung-yoon’s gaze as he looked down at Hoon.

“Is neutering something that needs to be done immediately?”

“Hmm, no, it’s not urgent. To be honest, I’d say surgery isn’t advisable right now. You haven’t formally decided to adopt him yet, and ideally, the cat should have all its basic vaccinations completed first. The most important thing is the animal’s safety.”

Bae Jung-yoon remained silent, carefully listening through to the end.

“But—if you do reach the point where you’re sure about committing to this cat for life, then ultimately the choice is yours. That said, speaking as a veterinarian, if you’re not planning to breed him, I strongly recommend you consider neutering. Without it, not only will the cat suffer through hormonal stress, but the owner will end up dealing with the consequences too. Plus, unneutered cats are more susceptible to diseases like testicular cancer or prostate issues.”

Though it couldn’t be called a “minor” procedure, the vet emphasized repeatedly—his tone serious—that from a health perspective, neutering was the better choice for a companion expected to live more than ten years.

And with every word the vet said, Go Hoon’s face grew paler.

‘What the hell are they talking about…? Neutering? Neutering?!’

Out of everything said, the part about the surgery not being possible right now didn’t even register. Chaos had already exploded in his mind.

Neutering. That one word hijacked every thought.

And what was neutering? In plain terms, it meant obliterating his sexual function.

Go Hoon sat frozen like a statue, then suddenly sprang to his feet as the realization hit. This crazy bastard… What the hell did he just say? Neutering? NEUTERING? Who the hell did he think he was going to turn into a eunuch?!

‘I can’t just sit here and let this happen.’ If things continued like this, his not-so-promising but still very much alive masculinity in his early twenties was about to be torn away forever.

“Oh no, Kkongddeok!”

“NyaaAAAA!”

Panicked by the urgent need to flee, Go Hoon planted his paws and tried to leap off the exam table. But no sooner had he pushed off than the bob-haired nurse caught him swiftly, and his first escape attempt ended in complete failure.

“Kkongddeok!”

Startled, Bae Jung-yoon immediately got up. But Go Hoon was fighting with everything he had. He unsheathed the claws that had just been trimmed and raked them across the nurse’s hand that was holding him.

“Ow!”

“Catch him!”

Taking advantage of that split second when the nurse’s grip loosened from the sharp sting, Go Hoon bolted off the exam table in a flash.
