“Kyah!”

A short scream burst out of his mouth. His forehead throbbed and his vision spun. He shook his head from side to side, trying to clear it. For a moment, it felt like stars were whirling above his head.

“Kkongddeok-i, are you okay?”

Bae Jung-yoon rushed over, his face filled with concern as he gently cupped Go Hoon’s small face in both hands. He looked at him anxiously.

“Waaah…”

So embarrassing. The shame hit him a beat too late. Go Hoon pulled his face away and scrubbed his forehead with his front paw. After a brief silence, a sheepish chuckle echoed through the living room—Bae Jung-yoon’s unmistakable laugh.

“Kkongddeok-i, that must’ve hurt. I’m sorry.”

He pulled Hoon tightly into his chest.

“You’re such a dumbass… but you’re really cute.”

What the hell, man? Did you seriously just say that to me? Frustration bubbled up. Go Hoon flailed in protest, but it was useless. Bae Jung-yoon simply flopped over and stretched out on the floor, his hand firmly stroking the back of Go Hoon’s neck. Through the ear pressed against Jung-yoon’s chest, he could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat, slower than his own.

Thump, thump—

That calm, rhythmic thudding slowly drained the tension from his body. As he listened to the sound of Bae Jung-yoon’s heart, a strange drowsiness washed over him.

Just like that, the two of them lay quietly in place, savoring a rare moment of peace. Another ordinary, tranquil day was passing by.

***

One thing Go Hoon noticed after becoming a cat was how much more he slept. These days, he could easily spend twenty hours a day sleeping.

Back when he was human, he barely got four hours of sleep a night. He was always sleep-deprived—there was just too much to do.

Time was limited, and he had to use it wisely—earning money, studying, surviving.

Thankfully, he was born with good stamina. Without it, the weight of life would’ve crushed him.

Naturally, napping during the day had never been an option. He had to pay off student loans, cover living expenses—there was no room for leisure.

But here, living as a cat, Go Hoon had finally gotten a taste of what leisure really meant.

Soaking in the winter sunlight while caught in a drowsy haze—he’d never known something so simple could feel this good. He came to understand that quietly watching snow fall was its own kind of romance. Watching people pack snowballs, build snowmen, or simply stroll through snowy streets—there was a quiet joy to all of it.

“Kkongddeok-i, what are you looking at?”

Bae Jung-yoon approached, being his usual meddlesome self as Go Hoon lounged lazily in the hammock by the window, half-drowsing in the warm glow.

“Are you watching the snow?”

He kept talking even though Go Hoon was clearly absorbed in watching the snowfall outside. Worse, just when Hoon was drifting off, Jung-yoon would flick his ear and snap him wide awake.

“Yaaawn…”

Letting out a small cry of protest, Go Hoon flapped his ears to say, Cut it out, but the guy just kept doing it. Hoon finally whipped his head around and shot him a glare through narrowed eyes. ‘Quit it, you annoying bastard.’

“You just swore at me with your eyes, didn’t you?”

‘If you understood that, then do me a favor and get lost, asshole.’ Seriously, the guy was like a psychic. He always picked up on insults, even the silent ones.

“What the hell? I feed you, play with you, cuddle you—this is the thanks I get? Kkongddeok-i, you keep that up and you’re getting scolded.”

Despite the warning, Bae Jung-yoon’s hand gently scratched under his chin. He’d seen right through Go Hoon’s hostile glare.

Go Hoon couldn’t help letting out a tiny snort. ‘Scold me? Yeah, right.’ It was hard to imagine him getting truly mad.

Sure, there had been a few times in the past when Bae Jung-yoon had been intimidating—but that was ancient history. Time had dulled those memories, and now, Jung-yoon was just… harmless.

They say humans are creatures of forgetfulness. In Go Hoon’s eyes, Bae Jung-yoon was now basically just his personal servant.

The way Jung-yoon looked at him said it all. Those eyes, full of affection—there was no reason to be afraid of that gaze. With a soft smile tugging at his lips, Jung-yoon leaned in and planted a loud kiss right on the top of Go Hoon’s round head.

And he didn’t stop there—he even gave one of his ears a playful nibble. Go Hoon shuddered all over. ‘What the hell?! Who bites someone’s perfectly normal ear?! Are you a damn puppy?!’ He stared at him with wide, stunned eyes. Jung-yoon chuckled in a low voice.

“Kkongddeok-i, you’re flustered, huh?”

“YaaaAAANG.”

‘Obviously, yes! Don’t bite my ears, you freak!’ Letting out a long, meaningful cry, Go Hoon lightly tapped Jung-yoon’s lips with a paw—claws retracted.

“Okay, okay. I won’t do it again.”

He gently kissed the paw he’d grabbed.

“WaaAAAAH.”

‘Don’t kiss my paws either!’ Go Hoon mewled with indignation, prompting a large hand to settle on his head.

He let Bae Jung-yoon pet him for a little while longer, soaking up the gentle affection, before finally pushing his hand away to say, Enough. Picking up on the clear rejection, Jung-yoon finally took the hint and stopped bothering him.

Go Hoon watched the broad figure walk off toward the bedroom, then turned his gaze back outside. The soft white snow was still falling from the sky. Watching it, he slowly drifted off into sleep.

A few hours later, Go Hoon woke from his deep sleep with a wide yawn. After resting well, hunger set in. It wasn’t mealtime yet, so he figured he’d throw a bit of a fit and coax a snack out of Bae Jung-yoon.

He climbed down from the hammock and glanced around the living room—empty. That meant Jung-yoon was probably in the bedroom. Reaching a quick conclusion, Go Hoon sauntered toward the slightly ajar door.

As expected, Bae Jung-yoon was in the bedroom, seated in front of his laptop. But something seemed… off. His hand was moving below the desk.

…What the hell is that bastard doing? A chill swept over the back of Go Hoon’s neck just as a thought struck him—this scene felt oddly familiar.

“Haa…”

A low moan escaped at that very moment. Go Hoon froze like a statue.

“Hngh! Mmm…!”

An amplified, breathy moan from a woman burst out of the speakers. There it was. Porn. Porn was playing on Bae Jung-yoon’s laptop.

Yeah. Terrible timing.

Of all people, why did it have to be Bae Jung-yoon’s happy time that he walked in on?

“…Ah! Oh!”

The screen was filled edge-to-edge with the tangled limbs of a curvy naked woman and a lean, muscular man. Random English expletives—“Fuck,” “Shit”—echoed from the speakers with all the nuance of a bad script.

Go Hoon stood there like an idiot, gaping at the screen before he finally snapped out of it. ‘What the hell am I doing?’ He had to get out of there before Bae Jung-yoon noticed. As soon as the thought crossed his mind, he took a step back.

And immediately bumped into the door behind him.

Thud—

The sound made Bae Jung-yoon stop and glance over his shoulder. His drowsy eyes landed squarely on Go Hoon. Then, without hesitation, he swiveled his chair all the way around.

With that, what had been hidden behind the desk came into view—Bae Jung-yoon’s fully erect cock. Go Hoon’s eyes instinctively locked onto it.

“…Kkongddeok-i.”

No. Don’t say my name when you’re like that. Go Hoon felt like his eardrums were boiling, his pupils trembling at a visible 8-degree quake.

Not that it mattered—Bae Jung-yoon didn’t show the slightest hint of embarrassment. He just stared at his cat without a trace of shame.

“Did you sleep well?”

That shameless greeting made Go Hoon flinch, stunned and backing away in disbelief. ‘You’re really just gonna say hi right now?’ This crazy bastard. At a complete loss for words, Go Hoon stood on full alert. Bae Jung-yoon only smirked, his expression like some sleazy, two-bit thug.

Go Hoon’s gaze wandered for a moment—only to lock back onto that massive, vein-laced erection.

‘Whoever ends up with that thing—what did they do to deserve it?’ The thought invaded his mind uninvited. He’d already thought it was big before, but now, fully hard, it looked monstrous.

Sure, it was probably more appealing to lovers than something tiny, but still… anyone trying to take that thing would have a hell of a time. Just the idea of fitting it in seemed like an ordeal, and Go Hoon couldn’t help but feel a touch of pity for whatever unfortunate woman might end up dealing with it.

Even as another guy, this was a bit much…

He shook his head vigorously. ‘Why the hell am I even worrying about some random woman’s well-being?’ Clicking his tongue in his mind, he finally managed to turn around.

Fortunately, Bae Jung-yoon didn’t try to stop him.

Go Hoon fled the bedroom and climbed up the cat tower in the living room. But after seeing what he just saw, every faint sound leaking through that slightly open door made his ears twitch.

A mix of feminine moans and Bae Jung-yoon’s low, heavy breathing trickled out.

His heart pounded like crazy. The shock was too fresh—he couldn’t scrub the image from his mind.

He’d just witnessed Bae Jung-yoon masturbating.

Not like it was his first time seeing the guy’s junk or anything—he literally fell asleep every night nestled against his naked chest.

But there was a massive difference between seeing someone’s bare body and watching them in the middle of a sex act.

Masturbation wasn’t abnormal. No, Go Hoon knew that all too well. As someone with the lower half of a man, he understood full well that handling one’s own needs wasn’t weird. It was a perfectly natural urge.

And yet, it had still totally thrown him off.

The way Bae Jung-yoon had looked at him with that cocky little smirk—so unfamiliar, and somehow… intense.

Go Hoon squeezed his eyes shut. ‘Just stop thinking about it. Seriously, stop.’ Obsessively replaying the image of a guy jerking off in his mind? No thanks.

He started humming the Korean national anthem in his head, like a monk trying to exorcise impure thoughts. This wasn’t some teenage boy trying to resist the allure of a hot girl—what the hell was he even doing?

To calm his scrambled brain, he tucked all four limbs neatly under his belly and settled into the classic loaf pose.

How much time passed like that?

“Kkongddeok-i.”

Bae Jung-yoon stepped out of the bedroom, his face looking suspiciously refreshed, and strode straight toward him.
