“This bastard…”
“Wouldn’t it be better if we just liked each other?”
“What nonsense. Do you like me?”
“Not at all.”
“…Are you in your right mind when you’re saying this?”

He ignored my words and gathered his coat. Do Jihoon looked me straight in the eyes and said:
“Even if you find someone you like, don’t get caught. By the public. I’ll only understand until before the wedding.”
“Yeah, got it.”
“Don’t answer so carelessly. If you ever get caught, you’ll die by my hands before you’re butchered by the public.”
The guy is damn brutal. With that rigid attitude, he’s the one who had a lover while being engaged. Thinking about it, it was ridiculous. I just nodded vaguely at his words.
Do Jihoon looked at me with dissatisfaction and then left with his belongings. I hoped this would be my last meeting with that jerk before the engagement, but of course, the world wasn’t on my side.
Our parents kept trying to set me and Do Jihoon up together.
They said the families were going to watch a movie, so I just put on a hoodie and went out, but there were no parents, only well-dressed Do Jihoon.
My sister said let’s go for a drive, so I got in her car and followed her, but she picked up Do Jihoon and dumped us in the middle of an amusement park.
Plus the library, cafes, etc.
Our parents were really serious about putting us together.
“…You again?”
“I didn’t want to come out either.”

Do Jihoon willingly released his pheromones. The feeling of sitting near a warm stove enveloped me. I made sure to keep my mental strings tightly held so I wouldn’t fall for him like before.

I released my pheromones. My rose scent completely wrapped around Do Jihoon.
But this… felt strange.
Even though I knew that Do Jihoon was nothing to me, and that we would never love each other, seeing an Alpha covered in my pheromones made me feel proud and somehow satisfied.
I wondered if Do Jihoon felt the same, so I looked at him. His face was as unpleasant as usual. I turned my head away as if I’d seen something I shouldn’t have. I guess it was just me.
I’d heard that an Alpha’s possessiveness is no joke. Maybe that only applies to their own Omegas. With that thought and a desire to find my own Alpha soon, I stopped releasing my pheromones.
“I’m done too. Let’s say goodbye now.”
“Sure.”
“How about we do this whenever we have to meet? It’s convenient.”
“That’s the most sensible thing I’ve heard.”
He smiled like a bright sun. It strangely felt similar to Do Jihoon’s pheromones that remained on my body, making me feel weird.
“Well, see you later.”
He raised his hand to say goodbye. I coolly ignored his farewell and turned around to walk away.
Almost immediately, I got a call from Kim Bojin. I sighed deeply in fear and held the phone about a hand span away from my ear.
“Hello…”
“You betraying bastard!!”
As expected. Keeping the phone at a distance was a wise choice.
“You bastard. Yeon Yuri, you jerk… We were supposed to go to the club on January 1st! But you disappear again without answering calls? Today is already January 24th, you liar.”
“I had a very serious problem. Of course I wanted to go to the club with a club fanatic like you. Sure.”

Before Kim Bojin could explode again, I quickly opened my mouth.
“I got engaged.”

Kim Bojin listened to my story seriously as if he had never been angry. I begged for his mercy while telling him about the engagement news I heard in early December, meeting my fiancé at the end of last year, and how both families were constantly trying to set us up.

“Of course. Getting engaged is a legitimate reason.”

“So who’s your fiancé?”
“…”
I hesitated for a moment. Should I tell him who my future fiancé is? The engagement hasn’t happened yet, and the engagement ceremony is scheduled for mid-February. According to the novel, the engagement will proceed, but life is unpredictable, and who knows how things will turn out.
Kim Bojin must have noticed my hesitation, as he complained with a hurt voice:

Kim Bojin squawked once more. He wanted to hear the details of the situation, from “Why you?” to the circumstances and results. I kindly explained the situation to him once more.
“That’s how it happened.”
“Wow… That’s amazing. I need to buy stocks first.”
“If you leak this information, you’re dead. I told you because I trust you. Got it?”
“I know, I know. Our Yuri, do you love your brother Bojin?”
“No thanks. Take it back.”
While chatting with him, I had somehow arrived near Korea University. Since the place my parents had dropped me off was a neighborhood park near Korea University, I had reached Korea University after walking a bit.
“I’m in front of Korea University.”
“Huh? So the park you went to was Hansol Neighborhood Park?”
“I don’t know. I guess so.”
Maybe I should go inside Korea University for a look. The thought suddenly occurred to me. I’m going to attend this school anyway, so it wouldn’t be bad to look around in advance.
I started walking into Korea University.
