I Want to Be Your Guide 79

# Chapter 79

Jeongyun woke up in an uncomfortably spacious and pleasant private room once again.

He remembered being attacked by some unknown shadow and Domin saving him, so it wasn’t hard to figure out that Domin was the one who had brought him here.

His neck hurt a bit from where the shadow had squeezed with all its might, but everywhere else was fine. Jeongyun, who had stretched his hand toward the ceiling, slowly sat up.

As Jeongyun looked around the hospital room, his gaze quickly fixed on one spot. He thought he might be seeing things because of the dawn light, but even after rubbing his eyes and looking again, Domin was curled up asleep on the caregiver’s bed.

‘…Why is he there?’

Jeongyun put his feet on the floor and steadied his wobbling body. Then, one step, two steps, he moved carefully like a child taking its first steps.

Stopping in front of the caregiver’s bed, Jeongyun stared at the sleeping Domin. His sharp features when awake had transformed into those of a gentle child while asleep.

‘Has he been here the whole time?’

Jeongyun didn’t know how long he had been asleep, but it seemed Domin had been by his side the entire time.

That would explain why he was wearing more comfortable clothes than usual, and his hair was messy like a bird’s nest – anyone would recognize him as someone who had stayed up all night taking care. It was a look that seemed completely out of character for Domin.

‘What does he want?’

When Domin was being cruel enough to tear his heart to shreds, it was one thing, but now he was being kind. Even knowing he should harden his heart more, Jeongyun found himself helplessly wavering when seeing Domin like this.

How could he hate someone who had saved his life and was now asleep, not even realizing his long legs were sticking out from the small bed as he tried to provide care that didn’t suit him at all?

This is why he wanted to end things quickly. He knew his heart would waver more as time passed. If he hadn’t dragged things out, by now he would have been steadily removing Domin from his mind, even if it was painful.

“Are you awake?”

Domin, who had woken up in the meantime, asked in a deep voice. Startled, Jeongyun nodded a bit late. Domin smiled broadly, saying that was good.

Though there was no way his inner thoughts could be heard, Jeongyun felt strangely guilty. With his feet tingling, he naturally turned to go back to the bed.

However, before he could take a few steps, Domin caught him.

“How are you feeling?”

“…I think I’m okay.”

After hearing Jeongyun’s answer, Domin sat up. He lightly shook his messy hair to fix it, then gently pulled on the hand that was holding Jeongyun.

Jeongyun, who was pulled along without resistance, was trapped between Domin’s legs as Domin naturally wrapped his arms around Jeongyun’s slender waist. Though Jeongyun hesitated slightly at the sudden contact, he didn’t push Domin away like before.

“Why haven’t you moved out yet?”

“I haven’t had time.”

Even if he didn’t have time, Jeongyun should have moved out long ago, yet he was still living there.

Reading Domin’s frustrated look, Jeongyun began explaining why he couldn’t move.

‘Would it be okay to ask now?’

While listening to Jeongyun’s ongoing explanation, Domin’s mind raced. Should he suggest that Jeongyun stay at his place now? Jeongyun probably wouldn’t want to go back to that house anyway, so he might easily agree.

“If you’re not going to move right away, do you want to live at my place?”

Nothing hurt his pride more than making an offer that had already been rejected once, but Domin didn’t have the luxury to worry about such things. His desperation not to miss this timing was greater.

“I…”

Domin worried that Jeongyun might flatly refuse, but surprisingly, Jeongyun was considering it. Avoiding Domin’s eyes, which clearly showed his expectations, Jeongyun gave his answer after a moment of silence.

“It’s okay. I can manage on my own.”

Although expected, the answer was no different from before.

Domin sighed deeply, unable to hide his disappointment. Just when he thought Jeongyun had softened a bit, the wall was still solid.

“So when do you plan to move?”

“When I have time…”

Jeongyun’s voice trailed off. In the end, nothing had been decided.

Domin sighed deeply, swallowing all the words he wanted to say.

‘Don’t rush.’

Domin rested his forehead against Jeongyun’s chest. He loosened his arms around Jeongyun’s waist, but Jeongyun remained in place. Domin rather liked that fact.

“Can we stay like this for a moment?”

“…Like this?”

“Yes, like this.”

Once he made contact with Jeongyun, the pain that Domin had been trying to forget began to return.

In truth, he had been at his limit for a long time. It had been ages since he’d received proper Guiding, and in the meantime, he had used his abilities more than necessary fighting that shadow-like thing.

‘Get a grip.’

Domin clenched his trembling hand and barely held onto his reason, which had been trying to escape since the moment he touched Jeongyun. Otherwise, he felt he might push Jeongyun onto the bed right now and continue Guiding until he was satisfied.

Taking a deep breath, Domin completely released Jeongyun. Though he straightened his disheveled clothes, Jeongyun still remained in front of Domin.

Though his complexion was pale, a smile spread across Domin’s lips as his mood improved.

“Can I have your hand?”

“…Do you need Guiding?”

“I tried to endure, but I used my abilities quite a bit this time, so it’s hard.”

He knew better than anyone that the pain wouldn’t disappear just by holding hands, but if he didn’t do at least this much, he felt he might lose his reason.

Domin reminded himself, again and again, that they were in a hospital and Jeongyun was a patient who had just regained consciousness. No matter how unscrupulous he was, he wasn’t a thug who would force excessive Guiding on a sick patient.

Of course, the previous time when Jeongyun had fainted was when he didn’t know Guiding was too much for him. After learning that, he had been adjusting the Guiding with consideration for Jeongyun. The same applied now, of course.

“Is just holding hands okay?”

“…It’s fine.”

He almost honestly answered that it wasn’t. Domin curled his fingertips and forced a smile. He couldn’t tell if he really looked okay without a mirror.

Jeongyun, who had been quietly watching Domin, extended his hand. Just as Domin was about to take that small, white hand, Jeongyun suddenly climbed onto Domin’s thigh. Not stopping there, he suddenly began unbuttoning his hospital gown one by one.

Domin’s eyes darted around, extremely confused by the sudden situation.

“…What are you doing?”

He barely managed to ask, but there was no answer.

In the meantime, Jeongyun had completely removed the top of his hospital gown and grabbed Domin’s frozen hand, making it touch his bare skin. Through the hand placed on his left chest, Domin could feel Jeongyun’s heart pounding.

Around the time when the bluish dawn light was gradually changing to clear morning sunshine, Jeongyun, who had been looking down, raised his head and opened his firmly closed lips.

“Just this once. Because you saved me.”

How kind of him to draw the line in advance. Domin, who had calmed his greatly shaken heart, nodded and said he understood.

Only after hearing that answer did Jeongyun announce the start of Guiding.

“Guide Yeo Jeongyun begins Guiding for Esper Choi Domin.”

As soon as the report ended, Domin held Jeongyun’s cheek and kissed him. He naturally inserted his tongue between parted lips, past the neat row of teeth, to lick the sensitive inner flesh.

When he wrapped around the hesitating tongue, Jeongyun moaned and trembled. Perhaps due to his quickening breath, his body heated up. It was so hot it felt like he might explode.

“How far do you think we can go?”

Domin asked, briefly separating their lips. Even this much was desperately holding back his reason that was trying to escape, but he wondered if Jeongyun knew that.

Huffing and puffing, trying to catch his breath, Jeongyun answered by spreading both arms and hugging Domin’s neck. The body heat with no gap between them was enough of an answer.

Domin picked up Jeongyun and headed for the bed. He wondered if it was okay to do Guiding on a patient’s bed, but his mind was already gone, so such thoughts quickly faded.

After throwing off his restrictive clothes and climbing on top of Jeongyun, Domin frantically pressed his lips all over the white skin. He lightly bit the trembling shoulder and left the same marks on the ankle where the peach bone slightly protruded.

“Damn…”

He was barely holding onto his reason and continuing the Guiding at a pace that wasn’t rushed, but that was only by Domin’s standards. Even though he wanted to move roughly, the precarious bed meant he had to do everything slowly.

“Ungh.”

“Breathe.”

Domin moved carefully, comforting Jeongyun who was struggling because it had been a long time. But later, unable to bear the frustration, he finally embraced Jeongyun, got off the bed, and continued Guiding while standing.

Only when Jeongyun, who had been clinging to him, cried that it was difficult did Domin regain his senses and barely managed to stop the Guiding. Though he still felt somewhat unsatisfied, he reminded himself again that they were in a hospital.

“Looks like you might have to stay in the hospital longer because of me.”

Domin said with a smile as he fixed the messy bed and laid Jeongyun down. Jeongyun replied with a hoarse voice, “I guess so.”

Jeongyun’s eyes gradually closed as Domin patted the blanket, telling him to rest a bit more. Clear sunlight was pouring through the window. Morning had passed, and it was already noon.
