# Chapter 50
## Chapter 5. Learning to Give Up
The steps returning home after ending the day were heavy as always. Even though there wasn’t much to do after finishing Hwayeon’s Guiding in the morning, just staying at work drained Jeongyun’s energy.
Coming out of the subway, Jeongyun stood in front of the alley leading to his home and habitually checked the street lights.
Shortly after the investigation team left, people from the city hall came and fixed the street lights. The alley was bright again, but he still felt unnecessarily cautious. Jeongyun looked around and hurried home.
“Haa…”
Only after opening the front door and entering his home could Jeongyun finally sigh with relief.
He thought about moving rather than feeling anxious every time. Of course, given the complicated procedure, it would probably remain just a thought.
‘I’m tired.’
He threw his bag on the floor and flung himself onto the sofa. While blinking his drowsy eyes, a vibration sounded from his pocket.
It was a call from Domin.
After pressing the confirmation button, Jeongyun got up from the sofa and quickly looked around his home. Domin was coming in 30 minutes, and since he hadn’t cleaned yesterday, the place was a mess.
‘I need to clean up quickly.’
Despite his fatigue, he hurriedly moved around the house cleaning up visible items. He needed to make the house look as tidy as possible in the limited time.
In principle, bringing an Esper into a Guide’s personal space was to be avoided, but since that day, whenever Domin needed Guiding, he came to Jeongyun’s home instead of headquarters.
In fact, Jeongyun tried to bring it up several times, but each time, the perceptive Domin silenced him in various ways, so time just passed without resolution.
As Domin’s visits became more frequent, his belongings naturally increased one by one in Jeongyun’s home. Though it was just a toothbrush, comfortable clothes, and underwear.
Knock, knock—
Just as he finished cleaning the living room and was about to enter the bedroom, someone knocked on the front door.
Feeling rushed, Jeongyun threw his scattered pajamas into the laundry basket and ran to the door.
“Welcome.”
“Yes, I’ll come in.”
Domin playfully accepted Jeongyun’s greeting. As Jeongyun moved aside, Domin headed to the living room as if it were his own home and sat on the sofa as always.
By now, the sight of Domin here wasn’t unfamiliar. That didn’t mean Jeongyun was used to it though. He still felt nervous and excited every moment Domin was in his home.
“Have you had dinner?”
“Not yet.”
“Of course, you just got off work.”
Domin checked the time and muttered. Then he beckoned Jeongyun with his hand.
As Jeongyun approached hesitantly, his hand was grabbed.
“Ah…!”
In the blink of an eye, Jeongyun was seated on Domin’s lap. Domin kissed Jeongyun’s chin, who had his eyes wide open, and said with a smile:
“I’d like to eat together, but I don’t have much time today.”
Jeongyun, who had been secretly hoping to spend time together again today, was careful not to show his disappointment.
But the perceptive Domin immediately noticed Jeongyun’s feelings.
“Why, are you disappointed?”
“No, it’s fine— ah.”
A hand that entered his clothes touched a sensitive spot. Jeongyun quickly closed his mouth, and his eyes immediately turned red.
Domin, who had been playing with the soft skin as if teasing, soon put both hands inside the clothes and removed the cumbersome top.
It happened so suddenly that Jeongyun blinked in a daze. Domin looked at his foolishly relaxed eyes and asked with a smirk:
“Aren’t you going to report the start of Guiding?”
The hand stroking his disheveled hair was infinitely tender. This was just Guiding, nothing more. Consoling himself not to misunderstand, Jeongyun stutteringly announced the beginning of Guiding.
“G-Guide Yeo Jeongyun. Beginning Guiding for Esper Choi Domin.”
As soon as the words ended, their lips met lightly.
The gaze looking fully at each other kept making his heart flutter. Even though he knew it wasn’t real, he wanted to misunderstand.
“Good job.”
Perhaps, Domin might feel the same way as him.
* * *
This time, thanks to adjusting the intensity, the Guiding ended relatively quickly. There was a small regret, but since they had been conducting intense Guiding recently, he had to consider his body.
Jeongyun, regulating his panting breath, tried to straighten up from leaning against Domin. But Domin pulled him back as he was about to move away.
“Stay like this a bit longer.”
“…What?”
“It’s not that urgent, so we can stay like this longer.”
“Ah, thank you.”
Jeongyun, who inadvertently leaned back against Domin, slowly relaxed. Perhaps due to the body heat, his body felt languid as if he had entered warm water.
With every breath, he was filled with Domin’s scent. A cool woody fragrance, the perfume that Domin had mentioned in an interview that he frequently wore.
In fact, as soon as he saw Domin’s interview, Jeongyun bought that perfume and sprayed it all over his room. Back then, he could only vaguely imagine what Domin’s scent would be like, but who would have thought he’d actually be this close to smell it directly.
‘This is too good.’
Jeongyun lowered his head so Domin couldn’t see and smiled secretly.
Of course, Domin probably wanted to stay close because of the Guiding, but even that made Jeongyun happy. If only time could stop like this…
Bzzt—
Startled by the vibration sound, Jeongyun’s eyes that were about to close snapped open. He instantly returned from the fairy tale-like fantasy to reality.
Domin took out his phone and frowned at seeing Junyoung’s name on the screen. Feeling it was truly time to go, Jeongyun quietly got up. This time, Domin didn’t hold him back either.
“Do you need to leave now?”
“I think so.”
Domin, who had declined Junyoung’s call, got up from the sofa. After lightly stretching his stiff body, he picked up the clothes thrown carelessly on the floor. Jeongyun also followed Domin and hurriedly put on his clothes.
While Domin went to the bathroom to fix his disheveled hair, Jeongyun cleaned around the sofa. Even though they only had light Guiding, there were still embarrassing traces left.
Coming out of the bathroom, Domin headed straight to the entrance. Just as he was about to leave after putting on his shoes, he turned to look at Jeongyun who had already come to stand in front of him.
“I’ll get going.”
“…Yes, take care.”
Jeongyun greeted Domin, deliberately hiding his regret. Domin lifted the corner of his mouth in a smile and reached out to mess up Jeongyun’s hair.
“Get some rest.”
With that affectionate farewell, Domin left Jeongyun’s home.
But his phone rang again, unable to wait. Instead of declining the call, he sent a message, and soon after, a van was seen struggling to enter the narrow alley.
“That was fast.”
“Because I was waiting.”
Junyoung said with his lips pouting.
Before entering Jeongyun’s house, Junyoung had repeatedly told Domin not to be late for his next schedule. And at that time, Domin confidently replied that he understood.
But even when it was time to leave, there was no sign of Domin. Despite sending all kinds of messages and calls, he casually ignored them, and when he finally came out, all he said was “That was fast.”
“Domin, please, unless it’s urgent, don’t do this on days with a schedule.”
Junyoung, who barely managed to get out of the alley, said in a drained voice. Instead of answering, Domin just shrugged his shoulders. It meant there was a possibility that this would happen again next time.
“If you want to receive Guiding, go to headquarters. Why do you keep coming to Guide Yeo Jeongyun’s house?”
“Because it’s comfortable here.”
The biggest reason Domin came to Jeongyun’s house instead of headquarters for Guiding was because of the bathroom. It was better to have a space with a bathroom where he could wash up rather than returning in an uncomfortable state after Guiding.
If he had to think of another reason, it was because Jeongyun felt psychological stability in his own home, which increased the efficiency of Guiding.
Of course, to Domin, Jeongyun’s house was no different from a narrow hamster cage and infinitely uncomfortable, but for Guiding, the Guide was more important than the Esper. He had to think from Jeongyun’s perspective.
“Is that all?”
“What else should there be?”
“I thought of course—”
Looking at Domin through the rearview mirror, Junyoung stopped what he was about to say. He thought something had developed between the two as they met more frequently, but Domin’s reaction was ambiguous.
“Why did you stop talking?”
“…No, it’s nothing.”
Junyoung evaded the question and focused on driving.
He didn’t have time to worry about other things right now. First, he had to complete the difficult mission of arriving at the appointment location on time while keeping to the speed limit.
