Thanks to your warmth that wrapped around me warmly, I won’t have to worry about heating this winter. I want to watch it repeatedly forever. Let’s share the joy.

The advertising ideas are really good these days. The CG is realistic.

The method of creating a sense of crisis to squeeze taxes when money runs out was already used a lot by the previous government.

Let’s talk seriously for real. Until now, rifts only occurred on ground level and sea level, but that one opened in the sky. This means the paradigm itself has changed, so why are we doing this kind of shit for the first time? It’s also ridiculous that Nova didn’t know about this. Why are the fucking prophecies quiet at times like this?

It was a predetermined disaster from when they put Woo Nayeong in the team leader position. They brought calamity upon themselves. National destruction.

There was a hunter in our country who uses holy-type skills? The skill looks too holy.

Why is Baek Mujin doing everything alone, playing both the drum and the janggu? Don’t tell me he was like that even when going into rifts? Our kid’s work environment ㅜㅠㅜㅠㅠㅠㅠ Fuck, am I the only one crying right now?? Huh????

From a human perspective, you might wonder why monsters try so hard to come over like that, but from the monsters’ perspective, survival might be at stake. They might be looking for new land to live on. They might be working so hard to survive.

Wow, but at the end of the video when the rift closes? Disappears? The sound is somehow slightly healing… Seriously on infinite repeat…

“Really, stop watching that! Aren’t you sick of it? How many times are you going to replay the same video?”

Ha Yera frowned deeply and grumbled. The deafening noise that seemed to tear the speakers repeated in the narrow space, finally making her explode with irritation. The poor quality of the video added to her discomfort.

Joo Hyeonwoo paid no attention to her annoyance and stared straight at his phone, rewinding the last scene once again. It was the part where, right after Mujin leaped up and deployed a flame barrier, Eunseong spread both hands and created blueprints in the air.

“At least turn down the volume! I don’t want to hear it!”

Despite his intensely focused expression, his ears were apparently open. Joo Hyeonwoo obediently lowered the volume. While doing so, he kept moving the playback bar and repeated the part where Eunseong appeared.

Now that their newly acquired guild building had been attacked by the changgui, Ha Yera and Joo Hyeonwoo had decided to stay at Yeon Seokchun’s house until the building repairs were completed. The rest of the guild members had similarly scattered.

Since most of them had been living in the guild building, finding places suitable for long-term accommodation was also work. Due to District 3 being completely devastated, hotels were experiencing shortages.

On one side of the living room, at a modest wooden dining table connected to the kitchen, sat Yeon Seokchun. His shoulders were hunched, with a tie draped over them and both sleeves rolled up.

On the two laptop screens spread across the table, various urgently written documents and a list of temporary locations for guild members were densely displayed. His phone vibrated continuously with calls—who knew how many calls it had been.

In the narrow living room of barely five pyeong, the most noticeable items were pink acupressure slippers and an old massage chair. It was clearly the home of an office worker worn down by work, with no trace of hobbies whatsoever.

“But this house was cleverly kept without being organized. Didn’t it sell?”

No one answered Ha Yera’s muttering. She picked up the remote and turned on the TV.

– [Breaking News] District 3 changgui completely eliminated, alert lifted

– Rift occurrence above residential district, unprecedented situation.

– Damage scale beyond imagination. Parts of District 3 declared special disaster areas.

– Just before the changgui’s elimination, who is the hunter who used the mysterious skill?

On the current affairs program with sensational headlines, panelists were spitting saliva as they passionately argued.

[“This is the first time we’ve seen something like this too. Rifts appearing in the sky have turned all existing research data into toilet paper!”

“The Rift Safety Control Agency announced that the hunter in question is ‘talent they had already identified in advance.’ Can you viewers believe this statement that ‘registration procedures were in progress’?”]

Even when changing channels repeatedly, they were all parroting the same things like parrots. Obvious predictions and words that stoked anxiety overflowed.

“Registration procedures my ass, they’re all really just spouting infuriating nonsense. Lying bastards.”

Ha Yera, who had finally turned off the TV, poked Joo Hyeonwoo’s forearm again.

“Why are you watching that on repeat like that? Looking for something? Reading comments? Getting into fights? Don’t carelessly post comments, you’ll get sued.”

Instead of answering, Joo Hyeonwoo paused the screen and shoved it right in front of Ha Yera’s nose. It was a scene showing the skill Eunseong had displayed—silver lines filling the sky, appearing hazily.

“This is definitely a skill Eunseong hyung used, right? Can’t you get me this in clear quality somehow?”

“What?”

“This isn’t just a simple pattern, it’s blueprints. But not just blueprints—it’s one dimension higher. Just, just… this is…”

Joo Hyeonwoo, unable to find words to explain, let out a deep sigh.

“Isn’t there anyone who filmed this in high quality?”

“…Just ask Eunseong oppa to show you.”

Don’t be such a loser. When Ha Yera narrowed her brow and scolded him, Joo Hyeonwoo shook his head saying she didn’t know anything either. He pointed with his chin toward the tightly closed master bedroom door.

* * *

An indescribably strange silence pervaded the master bedroom.

Mujin was sitting with his back against the headboard. His wet hair hung down over his forehead, giving him a much more relaxed impression than usual.

His hands were clasped and resting on his stomach, his legs stretched long on the bed. With only his ankles slightly crossed, he looked comfortable as if it were his own house, his own bed.

Neither the changgui’s bodily fluids nor the blood he had shed were anywhere to be seen. His thoroughly washed face even sparkled. If not for the clearly cracked core in his chest, it would have been a clean face that seemed to have no problems whatsoever.

With such a seemingly perfect face, he was quietly gazing at Eunseong.

As if thinking ‘you can ask me anything’ or ‘what was bound to come has come.’ An alien sense of tranquility was felt, making it difficult for Eunseong to speak easily.

He was just sitting upright on a small chair, maintaining a serious expression. With both hands firmly placed on his knees, he had been maintaining a resolute atmosphere for quite a while before finally bringing up a question.

“…The core.”

His voice came out stiffer than he had intended, full of worry, startling him.

“Why did that happen to it?”

Mujin slightly narrowed his eyebrows, then tilted his head.

It wasn’t even a difficult question, yet he delayed his answer while scraping the inside of his cheek with his tongue. This made Eunseong’s impatience boil even more.

“Did a monster do that to you?”

“No.”

“Then… don’t tell me you fought someone?”

“That wouldn’t happen. Who could make me like this?”

Mujin answered like a riddle and smiled slightly.

Cracks appeared on Eunseong’s face.

“Why are you answering so mysteriously? Don’t you want to talk about it?”

Mujin just gently shook his head without saying anything. While denying it, he still didn’t stop smiling.

“You’ve been… making fun of me since last time, saying I can’t remember everything.”

“……”

Eunseong’s face hardened and his eyes quickly reddened.

“Is my worrying that pathetic to you? You won’t even try to explain… Since I’m not much help anyway, I don’t need to know?”

Mujin blinked his black eyes, then curled up the corners of his mouth again and smiled deeply. The sight of him biting his lower lip as if unable to hold back laughter was so handsome that Eunseong felt anger rising.

“Even when I worry like this, it doesn’t matter to you at all!”

“…No, it’s not like that.”

“Then why do you only smile!”

When Eunseong finally exploded and shouted, Mujin shrugged his shoulders and said,

“It’s funny, what can I do?”

“What?”

“It’s really funny…”

Mujin looked at Eunseong with gently curved eyes. He unclenched his clasped hands and ran them over his face. Ah, why didn’t I notice before? Mujin clicked his tongue inwardly.

When he gave him a lingering gaze endlessly, Eunseong’s round cheeks trembled. How could he not smile at that?

Really.

“…You’re really cute.”

What he had meant to think to himself, he accidentally said out loud.
