# Chapter 32
“Can we get to the Center?”
“We have to. My Guide is there.”
He spoke without hiding his displeasure.
I didn’t properly understand what it felt like to have wavelengths jumping around.
I had awakened in Seo Eunwoo’s body, but I hadn’t experienced it yet.
“Are you… alright?”
Kyun In asked me as he walked beside me.
“What do you mean?”
“When an Esper’s wavelength becomes unstable, people nearby feel extremely uncomfortable. They say it feels like their flesh is being torn apart. I’m asking if Seo Eunwoo Esper is okay.”
“Yes, I’m just…”
I feel completely fine?
We hurried out of the dungeon together.
The cleanup team entered the dungeon, and we quickly headed to the Center.
Looking at the people in the car, I vaguely understood what Kyun In meant.
People were struggling to breathe, constantly touching their throats, clutching their chests, and suffering.
“I can drive. You two should get out.”
“No, I’m fine.”
Hearing those words from someone who clearly wasn’t fine, I suggested we get out and switch seats.
“Kyun In Esper needs to get Guiding quickly. This speed is too slow.”
Understanding my message that I wasn’t doing this for them but that they should get out quickly, they soon stopped the car and got out.
Judging by their expressions, they seemed truly relieved to be able to exit the car.
Kyun In raised both arms to hold his head and buried his face between his knees.
Even staying still seemed difficult for him.
I began to feel tense, as I’d never seen an S-class Esper suffering from surging wavelengths up close after clearing a dungeon.
I had seen Shim Woo-jin receiving Guiding in Lee Ha-min’s room before, but even then he had already received Guiding and calmed down somewhat, not in such a severe state.
When we arrived at the Center, driving so fast I was worried about accidents, Lee Ha-min wasn’t there.
‘Goodness…!’
Lee Ha-min had gone to a dungeon for clearing, so he wasn’t visible at the Center.
The Espers who had arrived earlier stepped back when they saw Kyun In.
His wavelength had surged much higher than before, and he kept curling his body, unable to walk properly.
“Please, we need Guiding from an A-class Guide!”
I shouted, but no one could come close.
Even Yoon I-jae, who usually wanted to handle Guiding for S-class Espers, was the same.
People were busy fleeing while shuddering.
Some people screamed, unable to endure the pain.
Especially lower-class Guides couldn’t bear it, and even lower-class Espers kept backing away.
“Do something quickly!!”
Even the Center administrators couldn’t do anything, and meanwhile, Kyun In’s condition worsened.
If I had known this would happen, I should have stepped forward earlier.
I was partly responsible for Kyun In’s current state.
Though it didn’t seem like he would die from this, I felt that if he did die, I would bear significant responsibility for his death.
The Center Director and command staff came out, but they couldn’t find a solution either.
The problem was that even if they tried to force an A-class Guide to provide Guiding, the Guides couldn’t get close to Kyun In.
“Let’s go to the Guiding room first, Kyun In Esper.”
The Center Director said, but Kyun In struggled even to go to the Guiding room.
While supporting him to the Guiding room, I made eye contact with several people who were looking at me.
At first, I wondered why they were looking at me, but they seemed unable to understand how I could be unaffected.
“Is Seo Eunwoo Esper okay?”
Someone asked me.
Without time to answer, we went to the Guiding room and laid Kyun In down, where he collapsed, losing consciousness.
It seemed miraculous that he had made it that far.
Wondering if we should give him a stabilizer, I went outside where the Center Director and command staff were following.
“What are you going to do?”
I was a lower-class Esper who should never speak to the Center Director in such a tone, but in that moment the words came out without me realizing, and they didn’t take issue with it.
They were anxious, not knowing how to solve Kyun In’s problem.
“Is Lee Ha-min Esper still not here? Has the dungeon there not been cleared yet?”
“Not yet.”
Should I go there?
Should I help clear the dungeon and tell Lee Ha-min to come and guide Kyun In?
Once I thought of it, there seemed to be no other answer.
There would be travel time, but if I used my physical enhancement ability to the extreme, I could reduce that time.
It would take time for Lee Ha-min to come, but rather than worrying about that, it seemed better to just depart.
“Let’s give him a stabilizer and call Lee Ha-min Esper here for Guiding.”
When I said this, the Center Director shook his head.
“The stabilizer hasn’t reached the commercialization stage yet…”
Then he hesitated as if he had something to say and looked at me.
“Seo Eunwoo Esper. Are you really okay right now?”
“I’m fine.”
“Are you really okay?”
What is he saying?
This isn’t the time for such questions.
When Kyun In is writhing in pain to the point of losing consciousness.
Then the Center Director said:
“Even I find it difficult to be here right now. I’m not talking mentally, but physically. It feels like my flesh is being torn. This isn’t a metaphor; my flesh is actually tearing. So I’m asking if Seo Eunwoo Esper is okay.”
As he spoke, he showed me his arm.
“…!!”
His skin was tearing to the extent that I wondered if Kyun In’s ability was leaking out and attacking people around him without him knowing.
I looked at my arm, but I didn’t even need to.
I was completely fine.
Then I realized that they were struggling tremendously to endure Kyun In’s fluctuating wavelength.
“Seo Eunwoo Esper. I’m starting to think you might have the ability of a Guide…”
I snorted at the Center Director’s words.
I didn’t do it on purpose; it just happened.
It would take quite a story to get my agreement.
“You’re saying that because it seems similar to Lee Ha-min Esper, right, Seo Eunwoo Esper.”
“I don’t think so.”
“Is Seo Eunwoo Esper enduring right now? Or is it not affecting you at all?”
At the Center Director’s words, I realized that I needed to answer carefully here.
“I’m… enduring. It’s hard to breathe, but I’m enduring.”
When I said this, he looked at me strangely.
I rubbed my throat and made a small sound.
“*Cough*…”
I probably shouldn’t have done that.
Everyone’s suspicious gazes fixed on me.
“Really, I am.”
“…”
“Anyway, let’s send someone to Lee Ha-min Esper first? That seems like our only option.”
The Center Director, seeming to realize this was the best course of action for now, nodded and gave instructions to others.
Then one of the command staff members beside him disappeared at an unbelievable speed.
There was a saying that all command staff were A-class Espers, and it seemed true based on this incredible ability.
As they disappeared one by one, suddenly having nothing to do, I went to the Guiding room where Kyun In was.
His eyes were closed, but he seemed to have regained consciousness.
His clenched fists had turned white, and vivid blood flowed from them.
“…”
I hadn’t realized how painful it was until I saw him like that, and my heart burned.
Me, a Guide?
It didn’t seem to make sense, but if it was true, if there was a way I could stabilize him, there was no reason not to do it.
As I approached, Kyun In gritted his teeth.
He seemed to be trying to hold back groans that were involuntarily coming out due to the pain.
“They say the stabilizer isn’t ready yet, right?”
He said as if barely exhaling from a state where his breath was caught.
“Yes.”
“Hnnnggg…!!”
When a groan finally escaped, he pulled the blanket up to cover his head.
His hands were trembling.
An S-class Esper suffering from a rampage.
Imagining the huge wave of pain covering him, I grabbed his hand holding the blanket.
I had no idea how to do Guiding.
Was it about putting in one’s own wavelength?
Like flowing it in?
I recalled fragments of what Lee Ha-min had said.
‘Flow it in…’
Is it similar to injecting energy into a sword?
With that thought, as I tried pushing in my energy, Kyun In’s frantically trembling hand seemed to gradually subside.
What’s this? Is it working?
He seemed to think it was strange too, but he still didn’t seem sure.
Since he had been trembling so violently at first, the difference felt dramatic, but the trembling hadn’t completely stopped yet.
“Shall I hug you?”
At my words, the pulse I felt from his hand jumped as if his heart had dropped, then settled.
He seemed so surprised that he even forgot to tremble.
“What? Did it work? You’re not trembling anymore.”
Then Kyun In, as if he had forgotten, started trembling again.
This rampage thing seemed to have its interesting aspects.
I thought that if the mind was distracted by something else, even during a rampage, it seemed to just pass by.
Come to think of it, I’d seen something similar to this before.
