“Hasn’t anyone taught you to warn people about your white dick before you drop your pants somewhere?”
Was it his imagination, or did Tae Young-won’s eyes seem half-crazed from the moment he saw Mo Yeon’s private area?
“If it’s white, it’s white. Shouldn’t you have warned me before taking them off? Huh?”
Mo Yeon’s face flushed red, ready to burst at these outrageous words. All the words coming out of Tae Young-won’s mouth now were enough to make anyone lose their sense of reality.

“Did you deliberately not wear underwear?”

Somehow growing more flustered, Mo Yeon unconsciously stepped back. As he did so, his pants stretched, revealing his lower body even more clearly. A cold breeze rushed in.

Fortunately, perhaps because it was early on a weekend morning, the street was quiet. But that fact couldn’t immediately calm his startled heart.

And while Mo Yeon was suppressing his anger, the half-crazed look in Tae Young-won’s eyes was gradually returning to its usual state. Not that his eyes were particularly kind or pure normally.
Tae Young-won, who had been frozen with his head turned from the sharp slap, looked down at the fuming Mo Yeon.
His disheveled bangs, his neckline exposed by the loose t-shirt unlike at school, were all flushed as much as his face. All the places he usually kept tightly covered and hidden were now clearly visible.
There even seemed to be a bit of moisture in his light-colored pupils between his long eyes.
Tae Young-won’s eyebrows twitched.
“I told you before that I paid for my crime with your mouth, sunbae. So there’s no reason for me to be treated like this anymore! And…”
Mo Yeon swallowed hard for a moment. It wasn’t long before he uttered the words he had hesitated over.

The small ghost that kept appearing to his eyes seemed to spend most of its time in the park. It wasn’t just human ghosts that were visible to Mo Yeon’s eyes. Of course, the ones that posed threats or wandered around more were all in the form of dead people, a hundred out of a hundred times.
Mo Yeon didn’t particularly like cats, but he did like dogs. Seeing it digging the ground naturally reminded him of old times, and he couldn’t help but keep his eyes on the black figure.
His guess that it might be a dog or wild animal based on its small, round shape was becoming more certain.

And Mo Yeon could be 100 percent sure that it was a puppy rather than another wild animal. Although it had almost lost its living form, its behavior and habits were exactly like those of an affectionate puppy.
For instance, when he appeared, it would wiggle its bottom and follow him pitter-patter, and if he continued on his way without paying attention, it would turn its eyes to someone else. It was unmistakably the behavior of a dog. And a dog that liked people at that.
Mo Yeon had lived with just such a creature when he was young.
The only flaw in the perfect home was Mo Yeon himself. He heard that his parents, who were businesspeople, had recently made another big profit from a newly invested business. Since childhood, both parents were always busy with business, and his only brother treated him like a child from another family.
To young, busy parents, a tearful and fearful young son became increasingly burdensome. The only ones who warmly accepted Mo Yeon were the nanny, who shared no blood relation, and his grandmother, whose health was deteriorating.
After his grandmother passed away, his parents sponsored the temple that had deep ties with her and had Mo Yeon stay there until he started school.
His brother teased him, saying his head was like a chestnut, but in fact, the time spent at the temple under the kind monk was the happiest period of Mo Yeon’s life. The white dog that guarded the temple then became Mo Yeon’s first friend.
Remembering those peaceful times made him feel somewhat melancholic. Perhaps he would never be that happy again.

Realizing he had indulged in memories long enough and it was time to get up, somehow Mo Yeon still couldn’t take his eyes off the puppy ghost.
In his short life experience, animals seemed to wander around after death for a time as short as the time they lived. Perhaps it was because they didn’t hold complicated thoughts or attachments like humans.
Mo Yeon, who had been walking in front of the park, hesitated for a moment before stepping into it.
He was on his way to school, but he had enough time for this.
The creature that had been digging the ground here every time he saw it seemed to have been looking for something all along. No matter how much it scooped with its front paws, the unmovable dirt continued to be dug up by the puppy.

Mo Yeon looked around for a moment. The park near the officetel wasn’t very crowded to begin with. Especially on a quiet weekday afternoon like this, there weren’t many people walking around. Moreover, there were no ghosts either.
As if there was a dog treat hidden in that exact spot, it didn’t move from the dirt in front of the grass.
Mo Yeon stared at it for a while before picking up a nearby twig. He crouched down next to the puppy and lightly dug into the soil with the end of the twig. Perhaps thinking he was helping, the puppy bounced up and down beside him.
Mo Yeon glanced at it and then silently continued digging the soil.
He had absolutely no intention of talking to it or showing affection. Who would show affection to a ghost? Even he thought such a person would be truly strange.
“Oh?”
He felt something catch on the end of the twig. The area of soil he had lightly dug with the pointed end was narrow. Mo Yeon threw away the twig and started digging with his hands.
“Got it.”
Finally, a toy ball emerged from the thoroughly dug-up soil.
The ball, with its surface torn in places, seemed to be a toy the puppy had played with excitedly when it was alive. Following the round sphere, faded letters reading “Ttol-i’s ♥” could be seen, scribbled like graffiti.
