Everyone in the classroom, including Song Wangzhuo, was stunned by what Shen Yuqing had just said.
But Shen Yuqing continued, “What? You’ve been training and hiding it? Just by looking at your condition today, I can tell you didn’t train. Get up and start training—now.”
Luckily, this equipment room had many barely-used machines. As soon as he came in, Shen Yuqing had noticed the dumbbells.
He directly dragged Song Wangzhuo up and pulled him in front of the dumbbells. “Show me a hundred reps.”
Song Wangzhuo wanted to say something, but when the words reached his mouth, he couldn’t say them. Shen Yuqing urged, “What? Are your muscles fake? You can’t even handle a hundred dumbbells?”
Song Wangzhuo looked down at the dumbbells on the floor, took a deep breath, bent down, and lifted one in each hand. His feelings were complicated.
How did things turn out like this?
Lin Sui watched as Song Wangzhuo trained with the dumbbells. The muscles on his exposed arms flexed slightly with each movement. Still confused, he walked over and asked, “Brother Qing, what are you doing?”
Unexpectedly, Shen Yuqing turned his head and said, “I almost forgot about you all.”
He clapped his hands and motioned for the rest of the onlookers to look at him. “Don’t just stand there doing nothing! One by one—look at how weak you all are! Start working out!”
Lin Sui wanted to say something more, but Shen Yuqing had already patted him on the shoulder. “You go first. Do fifty push-ups to set an example. Come on, fifty push-ups should be a piece of cake for you, right?”
Everyone’s eyes turned to Lin Sui, making it awkward whether he did it or not. Even Song Wangzhuo glanced at him. With his well-developed muscles, he really did look fit.
Gritting his teeth, Lin Sui eventually gave in. Under everyone’s gaze, he took off his jacket and started doing push-ups.
Shen Yuqing nodded in satisfaction, then looked at the two sidekicks. Since even Lin Sui had started, the two of them exchanged glances, then quickly dropped to the ground and began doing push-ups too.
None of them could understand how this situation had suddenly turned into a fitness training channel!
Meanwhile, Shen Yuqing was still pacing and muttering, “Men need chest muscles, abs, and biceps—and you’ve got to prevent yourselves from becoming weaklings!”
Song Wangzhuo’s eyes darkened. He stared at Shen Yuqing. He looked just like a fitness coach—hands behind his back, walking around, occasionally giving comments to the others. Yet he didn’t spare even a glance at Song Wangzhuo.
Song Wangzhuo looked down at the two dumbbells in his hands. His thoughts were messy. If earlier he could still guess what Shen Yuqing was trying to do, now he was completely lost.
Rich people really do have something wrong in their heads.
He strongly agreed with that now.
【Corruption value: 75, Favorability: -40】
Shen Yuqing nearly cried when he saw the corruption value go down. It had been rising so fast earlier that he thought he wouldn’t make it through the day.
Thank goodness.
He secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Judging the time to be about right, he turned his head and said, “Done already? Showing off muscles at your age, huh? I’ll let it go this time, but don’t do it again. Go back now.”
Song Wangzhuo put the dumbbells down but didn’t leave right away. Instead, he continued staring at Shen Yuqing.
Shen Yuqing cleared his throat. “What are you looking at me for?”
Song Wangzhuo asked, “What exactly are you trying to do?”
Instead of guessing on his own, he figured he might as well ask directly.
Good question. Shen Yuqing also wanted to know, but he had no idea himself. So he mumbled vaguely, “Why do you care what I’m doing? I’ll do whatever I want.”
That question was unnecessary anyway. Song Wangzhuo turned away, picked up his jacket, and left with a cold face.
Once he was completely out of sight, Shen Yuqing finally let out a long sigh of relief.
That was one intense storyline.
“Wait… I mean… you… huff…” Lin Sui gasped, speaking between breaths. His arms were shaking uncontrollably.
Shen Yuqing looked down at him and squatted beside him. He sighed and patted Lin Sui, who looked like a flapping butterfly, and said, “Sui, you’re a bit weak. You’d better practice more in private. I’m heading off now. See you.”
With that, Shen Yuqing happily left.
Lin Sui struggled to get up from the floor. His two sidekicks had their heads down the entire time, but it was obvious they were secretly laughing.
Furious, Lin Sui shouted, “What are you two laughing at?! Give me another hundred!”
His hands trembling, he opened the smartwatch on his wrist and angrily sent a message:
【Lin Sui: I want a private gym built for me within a week!】
The reply came instantly:
【Wow, finally admitting you’re a weakling?】
Three seconds later, the message was unsent and replaced with:
【Got it, bro.】
…So annoying! He was so mad!
Shen Yuqing had been nervous all morning, afraid that a new storyline would suddenly pop up. But fortunately, everything went smoothly.
By noon, Shen Yuqing stretched in his seat and wearily put his books back in his bag.
His brain was still too outdated for this interstellar knowledge. Luckily, the original owner had been a poor student, so there wasn’t much pressure on him.
The system told him the original Shen Yuqing had a house next to the academy. Before Pei Yiyan moved into the Shen household, the original mostly lived near the school and enjoyed his freedom.
Classes wouldn’t start until 2:30 in the afternoon, so Shen Yuqing planned to return to the house and take a nap.
The system guided him along a shortcut path. But after taking just a few steps, he suddenly heard a faint meowing sound.
He followed the sound and, sure enough, saw a cat.
It was a white odd-eyed cat, dirty and scruffy. It meowed at him non-stop.
Shen Yuqing was instantly moved. He walked over and bent down—but then suddenly remembered something and quickly asked:
【System, is the original owner allergic to cat fur?】
In his past life, he had loved cats and dogs and always wanted to adopt one, but he had severe allergies to their fur. He could only admire them from afar, sometimes feeding strays on the street and walking away before they got too close.
After the system confirmed there was no allergy, Shen Yuqing was relieved. Still, he cautiously reached out his hand. The cat must’ve sensed his kindness and rubbed its neck against him.
No reaction!
Shen Yuqing’s eyes lit up. He squatted down and stroked the cat’s head twice, only to discover its right leg was injured.
He checked it quickly and understood why the meows sounded so weak. He gently patted the cat’s head and said, “Come on, big brother will take you to the doctor.”
He tried to lift it up, but the moment his fingers touched the injured leg, the cat let out a heartbreaking cry—it clearly hurt a lot.
He sighed and instead lifted it by the scruff of the neck. Without pausing, he rushed toward the gate.
Ten minutes later, Song Wangzhuo stood in the surveillance room, coldly watching Shen Yuqing’s every move on the screen.
Shen Yuqing. Him again.
Following the system’s directions, Shen Yuqing found a nearby pet clinic. After the doctor examined the cat, they said its back leg was fractured and had been scratched, which made it look so pitiful. But besides that, it wasn’t too serious. A few days of rest at the clinic would do the trick.
Relieved, Shen Yuqing paid the fees, left his contact information, and only then pushed open the glass door and stepped outside.
He’d been so busy he hadn’t even eaten lunch.
Looking around, Shen Yuqing was about to pick a noodle shop to fill his stomach when the system suddenly popped up with Song Wangzhuo’s updated stats:
【Target: Song Wangzhuo
Corruption Value: 80
Favorability: -50
Mission Progress: 5%
Status: Semi-awakened】
Shen Yuqing froze.
What? What did I do again? Did I accidentally touch his pressure point or something?
Not only was Shen Yuqing shocked, but even the system was stunned. It lagged and then glitched:
【Host, wh-wh-what’s going on here?!】
【Are you the cheat code, or am I?!】
Shen Yuqing took a deep breath:
【Why ask me? Go check what’s going on!】
The system calmed down and said:
【Host, I don’t have enough energy. If I try to trace back the timeline, I might fall into sleep mode—and for an unknown amount of time.】
【Oh, darling…】 Shen Yuqing sighed.
【I knew you were useless, but I didn’t expect you to be this useless.】
The system whimpered in his head, crying pitifully.
【You’ve been watching too many drama series. Always picking up the bad habits, never the good ones. Now even fake crying?】
Shen Yuqing felt helpless and decided to put the matter aside for now. He would try probing Song Wangzhuo next time they met.
He was about to find a place to eat dinner when—just two steps later—a new storyline suddenly popped up in his mind.
Seriously? How much energy did the original owner have?!
