Shen Yuqing scrolled further down. The post was made yesterday, and today there were already many anonymous replies, which made things easier for Shen Yuqing.
The fake young master was named Song Lejin, an Omega who studied art. He often traveled between planets for his studies, returning home only a handful of times a year.
This time, he was back because his study tour had ended.
Shen Yuqing scrolled through a long list before finally finding a photo of Song Lejin. He was sitting on a seaside rock, flashing a sweet smile at the camera.
In the photo, Song Lejin looked fair-skinned, clean, and well-behaved—clearly the pampered child of a wealthy family.
He scrolled further down and saw a user named “Gossip Core” comment: 【Rumor has it that Young Master Song will enroll in the art department of Slinor Academy next week. Fellow students, you’re in for a treat!】
【For real?! I finally get to see my white moonlight!!!】
【Ahhhh, really?! I’m in the art department too! And specifically the painting program! If he transfers here, I don’t even know how radiantly happy I’ll be as an Omega! Song Lejin! The god of beauty among us Omegas!】
【I can’t imagine how trampled the doors of the painting department will be once Song Lejin arrives…】
【God of beauty! God of beauty! Finally, we get to see him in person!】【……】
That single piece of gossip instantly drew out many lurkers.
It was clear just how popular Song Lejin was online.
After browsing for a while, Shen Yuqing followed a lead to a keyword and found Song Lejin’s account on an app called GreenBlog.
【Following: 0, Followers: 57 million】
Shen Yuqing was stunned. He quickly skimmed through Song Lejin’s GreenBlog posts—he updated quite frequently, posting one or two entries every few days, usually featuring scenery, his paintings, or some selfies.
He seemed carefree and easygoing.
But strangely, Shen Yuqing’s first reaction was a sense of unease, as if there was something subtly off about Song Lejin.
Shen Yuqing asked: 【After Song Wangzhuo is recognized and returns home, does the fake young master stay with the Song family?】
【Yes.】 The system replied: 【Although he’s the fake young master and his parents committed wrongdoing, he was just a baby at the time, so the Song family didn’t hold it against him.】
Shen Yuqing sighed quietly: 【Song Wangzhuo is really… pitiful.】
【Once he’s recognized and returns home, he won’t be pitiful anymore.】 The system comforted him: 【Keep working hard to save the world!】
Shen Yuqing continued scrolling through the post, but there wasn’t much useful information left. Having digested his food, he got up from the couch, ready to take a shower and go to bed.
Just then, Pei Yiyan walked in from outside. He had already freshened up, and the Omega escorting him to his room was about to follow him inside when Pei Yiyan said, “No need to accompany me further.”
The Omega gave him a sweet smile, then quickly realized Pei Yiyan couldn’t see it and hurriedly added, “Young Master, I’m here to take care of you. Naturally, I must ensure you’re safely settled, or I won’t be able to explain myself to Chairman Pei and the others.”
This was clearly using the Pei family’s authority to pressure him.
Pei Yiyan took a slow, deep breath and simply stopped responding. Gripping his cane, he walked toward the bedroom. After just a few steps, he heard Shen Yuqing’s voice say, “Did I give you permission to come in?”
Pei Yiyan paused and stopped in his tracks.
What was Shen Yuqing up to now?
He sensed someone approaching him—no doubt it was Shen Yuqing.
Pei Yiyan lowered his gaze and was about to turn away with his cane when he heard Shen Yuqing speak again: “By your logic, should I also make space for you on my bed so you can take good care of your young master?”
The Omega’s expression instantly changed. “Young Master Shen, I—I didn’t mean it like that. Please don’t misunderstand. I wasn’t trying to—”
“Annoying.” Shen Yuqing lifted his chin arrogantly. “Never come in here without my permission, or you can crawl back to the Pei family. This isn’t a place for you to play caretaker.”
Though visibly reluctant, the Omega stammered meekly, “Y-yes, Young Master Shen. Then… please rest well. Call me if you need anything.”
As he spoke, his eyes reddened briefly.
Shen Yuqing: …What kind of delicate prince did the Pei family send over? Would his hands even stay steady when he tries to drug someone?
After his reply, the Omega retreated to his room with reddened eyes. Shen Yuqing turned his attention back to Pei Yiyan, who stood quietly beside him.
Shen Yuqing had noticed that when Pei Yiyan stood still, even his breathing was barely audible, his presence almost vanishing.
It was hard to imagine how much Pei Yiyan had endured—from being the celebrated prodigy of his generation to this state in just a few short years.
Unconsciously softening his tone, Shen Yuqing said, “Get some rest. I’m going to shower.”
Pei Yiyan remained motionless until he heard the sound of a door opening and closing before slowly moving forward with his cane.
The Pei family was a powerful clan where every member schemed for their own interests.
After his accident, everyone wore masks of false concern in front of him while secretly reveling in his downfall. They had intended to leave him to his fate—until the Shen family intervened.
Only then did they reluctantly resume their hypocritical act, pretending to care. Pei Yiyan knew exactly why this Omega had been sent: because Shen Zhen had rejected a collaboration with the Pei family.
He was a deliberate provocation aimed at angering Shen Yuqing. Even blind, Pei Yiyan could imagine the expressions the Omega wore in their presence.
Shen Yuqing already despised him, and with the Omega added to the mix, his resentment would only intensify.
What he hadn’t expected was for Shen Yuqing to step in and resolve the problem for him.
Pei Yiyan slowly made his way to bed. As a blind man, his entertainment options were limited—studying during the day, enduring whatever “games” Shen Yuqing devised at night, then resting.
Sometimes, he even thought that torment was just another way to pass the time.
Now that Shen Yuqing had become more stable, he found himself almost… bored.
At least when Shen Yuqing was erratic, he had something to focus his hatred on.
The thought made Pei Yiyan freeze momentarily before his expression darkened.
I must truly be losing my mind.
Suddenly, he felt something land on his leg. Before he could even frown, he sensed the thing crawling toward him, emitting faint purring sounds—soft but unmistakable enough for Pei Yiyan to recognize what it was.
It was Lucky.
Lucky had only just arrived in their home today but already acted like the king of the mountain. With its tail held high, it proudly climbed over Pei Yiyan’s body toward his waist, meowed at him twice, and then settled down on his blanket of its own accord.
Pei Yiyan stroked it gently.
Shen Yuqing might not understand much, but cats were easy to read—especially one as affectionate as Lucky.
When Shen Yuqing stepped out of the bathroom, this was the scene that greeted him.
Pei Yiyan was leaning against the headboard, a tiny kitten wearing an Elizabethan collar curled up in his arms. His slender fingers brushed lightly over the cat’s fur, coaxing out a contented purr.
The soft glow of the lamp cast over him, lending an indescribable gentleness to his demeanor.
Shen Yuqing lowered his gaze and tapped his own forehead. Really, had the shower water gotten into his brain? What kind of nonsense was he thinking?
He went out to blow-dry his hair. By the time he returned, Lucky was no longer on Pei Yiyan but had instead found a spot between their pillows to sleep—though its head was turned toward Pei Yiyan while its backside…
Shen Yuqing gritted his teeth. Just who was its real owner, anyway?
