Chapter 14. Ten Commandments
Samin slowly closed and opened his eyes. He tried to find composure, but it couldn’t go well.
‘…How should I react to this?’
Apart from the duel system being opened, he didn’t know exactly how it would proceed. Even so, as soon as Doun was granted the authority to designate an opponent, he chose Timer Choi Jeongwook without considering the consequences.
“Hyung.”
“I want to settle it properly with my own hands.”
Doun, who smiled somewhat awkwardly, looked somehow relieved. Perhaps that’s why. Samin couldn’t even say words mixed with concern to Doun. He was afraid it might feel like he was dismissing Doun’s choice.
Samin always genuinely worried about Doun while trying to respect his choices as much as possible. Even when he first used his special skill to arbitrarily transfer Doun’s injuries to himself, he didn’t nag about why Doun had endured such injuries alone.
The skill attached to the artifact ‘Covenant Bearer’s Mark’ could transfer injuries without consent. However, it came with the prerequisite of all accumulated physical damage upon tower entry.
That meant when Doun entered the tower and occasionally drank recovery potions and received healer treatment, even minor injuries that had healed completely would all return at once.
Though the injury where his side was pierced and his organs crushed was of course the biggest, the pain Doun had to endure after entry was far beyond Samin’s vague imagination.
Setting aside internal bleeding from mana side effects, the terrible headache like his skull being split was an intensity Samin had never felt before. It was horrible enough to momentarily knock him unconscious.
Knowing Doun drank mana recovery potions more often than water, he expected there would be side effects, but Doun’s expression had been so peaceful all this time and he showed no signs, so he’d carelessly assumed it would be a light level.
But Samin didn’t bring up a single word about the side effects because he respected Doun’s choices.
‘Maybe to hyung, it really is nothing special. Hyung is… really strong, different from how he looks.’
Samin often had thoughts like this after Doun began showing overwhelming aspects that transcended his imagination several times inside the tower. That he might have been thinking of Doun according to his own standards.
Doun was the number 1 that he couldn’t surpass despite his blood, sweat and tears. The gap was so overwhelmingly vast that sometimes even the jealousy he felt toward Doun became shameful.
Moreover, the relationship of being lovers put a brake on Samin’s worries. Using the pretense of being lovers to constrain the other person to his liking and interfere in every aspect of their affairs to control them was something Samin himself found hard to tolerate.
Wanting only his love and being wary of others was different from making comments about what Doun took pride in under the excuse of being lovers.
‘…Revenge. I didn’t know hyung would say he’d do it himself.’
Samin had sometimes wanted to take revenge for the unfair things Doun had experienced. Because of his affectionate, kind, and completely unsharp personality, the very situation of Doun taking revenge on Timer and others didn’t suit him. It was impossible to specifically imagine.
But as if even such thoughts were presumptuous, Doun decided to end the bad relationship himself. So the only thing Samin, a lover who always wanted to respect and support Doun’s choices, could say was one thing.
“I’ll assemble a legal team with only big law firm partner lawyers who get special treatment from former officials so there’s no problem even if hyung kills that bastard. I’ll also buy off all the journalists who’ll write favorable articles about hyung.”
“What?”
“Hyung also knows that even if someone dies during conquest in the tower, the conquest team members who went in together don’t get charged with aiding and abetting murder, right? How would a duel be any different?”

When Samin finished speaking, Doun just blinked his big eyes with a blank face.

Samin twitched his lips caught by Doun’s hand and gently shook his head. Even though he could easily push away with his hands, he blatantly acted cute. As if asking him to forget what he just said.
Doun, who had been holding his lips for quite a while, let go. Seeing him twitch his eyebrows, he seemed displeased no matter how he thought about it. Then Samin rubbed the back of his head against Doun’s thigh he was lying on and mumbled.
“No… I mean, whatever choice hyung makes, I’ll help and support you, that’s what I meant…”
“Would you like it if your lover was someone who beat people to death for revenge?”
When Doun asked with narrowed eyes, Samin rolled his eyes.
‘Doesn’t Timer that son of a bitch deserve to die? Rather, shouldn’t he consider it an honor to die by hyung’s hands?’
Samin decided to bury the thoughts that would have made Doun turn pale if he heard them only in his heart. Magnetic might be a hunter who tears magical beasts to death skillfully, but Lee Doun was a soft tofu who absolutely couldn’t tolerate seeing people get hurt in front of him.
‘Timer that bastard looks like a magical beast anyway, so killing him would be no problem at all…’
Just as his thoughts were about to flow in the wrong direction.

Words that started as a joke suddenly seemed to touch a sore spot, as the ending voice was slightly anxious. Samin was startled and shook his head.

Eventually getting angry himself, Samin bolted upright. Even if someone was too kind, there should be limits. When he huffed and glared, Doun burst out laughing.

“I’ll do everything you told me to do except bending the spine backward.”

The wishy-washy Samin was immediately moved. Looking again, he was now a tofu human who seemed quite solid. Seeing him subtly clench his fist was incredibly dependable.
“But when are you going to beat up Timer that son of a bitch? Can’t you specify a date?”
Samin asked while rubbing his cheek against Doun’s cheek. Then a calm voice resonated quietly.
“I need to figure out how the duel system works, and right now I need time because of mana potion side effects and my perverted boyfriend…”
His spine shivered at the word boyfriend pronounced in Doun’s proper voice. He didn’t know he had the talent to make people horny just with his voice. Just as Samin became dizzy and was breathing heavily.
“I’m going to beat the shit out of him in three days.”
At the firm declaration, Samin swallowed his saliva. Turns out his boyfriend was a man who did things properly when the time came. How could he not love someone who showed new sides the more he stayed by his side?
Samin lay back down on Doun’s thigh like a satisfied puppy and closed his eyes. He couldn’t take revenge on Doun’s behalf, but he could be helpful for the revenge.
After enjoying this sweet time a bit more, he should first check how the duel floor works.

At least it’s a fact that you get more when you win against someone with a rank difference..but otherwise it’s really random, sometimes giving 3 points for winning, sometimes 300 points, my friend said he got maximum 1100 points during an intense duel
