Chaika’s Poison 51

It was a time of pure madness.

Once the hours-long coupling finally ended, Chaika—his stamina completely spent—would collapse into sleep as if he’d blacked out. A few hours later, he’d wake up, be forced to eat something simple, and then plunge straight back into another bout of frenzied sex, letting go of the last threads of reason. This cycle repeated itself over and over.

Was it because his instincts as an omega had fully awakened? Once it began, Chaika, too, would cling to Mihail without a shred of composure. He learned quickly—so quickly that by the second day, he was already climbing on top of Mihail on his own and moving his hips.

“Haah, ah! Ah! Hk— ahh-. I- it’s good. It feels good.”

Chaika, straddling Mihail and rocking his hips, muttered in a daze. Realizing that Chaika was undeniably experiencing pleasure, Mihail immediately reversed their positions, climbing on top of him and thrusting his hips hard. Each time his cock plunged deep inside and pulled back out again, moans thick with pleasure spilled from Chaika’s lips.

Except for the moments when they passed out like the dead, their bodies were devoted entirely to sex. They glistened with sweat, and after receiving Mihail’s seed countless times, Chaika was soaked through with slick and semen. It was a vulgar, obscene sight. Yet neither of them cared in the slightest as they kissed deeply, bit into each other’s bodies, licked, and sucked.

Only after filling two full days like that did Chaika’s heat cycle finally come to an end.

Mihail smacked his lips as he looked down at Chaika, who was sleeping as though unconscious. Even after two full days of relentless sex, he still wasn’t satisfied. Mihail’s stamina was far from depleted, and he wanted to keep holding Chaika until every last bit of it was spent.

Resisting his desire, Mihail lay on his side beside Chaika and quietly studied his sleeping face. His neck and shoulders were almost entirely ruined, scarcely any unmarked skin left beneath the bites and sucking marks. The rest of his body below his neck was much the same—within a day or two, bluish bruises would bloom all over him. It ought to have felt awkward or troubling. In truth, it didn’t feel that way at all.

With a satisfied narrowing of his eyes, Mihail traced each bite mark, bruise, and handprint he’d left behind. Whenever he spotted a patch of skin that was still pale and untouched, an urge surged up inside him to leave his mark there too. Had he ever exercised this much patience in his life before? This little creature had made him do so many things he’d believed he never would.

Mihail pulled Chaika into his arms and hugged him tightly. Pressing his nose into the crown of his head, he inhaled deeply. The intense pheromones of the heat cycle were gone, but the omega’s scent remained. No—if anything, it was far stronger than before the heat had begun.

Was there any other fragrance in the world this sweet and stimulating? Mihail thought as he repeatedly drew in the scent. If it smelled this way to him, it would be the same for other alphas. He didn’t want to see anyone else coveting Chaika. If it weren’t for the fact that it shaved years off his life, he would’ve wanted to keep feeding Chaika Bellagie juice. Then he wouldn’t have to worry about anyone else desiring him.

“……hn….”

Chaika, who’d been sleeping like he was knocked out, let out a small moan, a faint crease forming between his brows. His golden lashes fluttered like butterfly wings before slowly lifting, revealing unfocused violet eyes. Mihail stroked his cheek and brushed his hair back.

“……Lord…Mi…hail.”

A hoarse voice barely escaped him. Mihail lowered his head and pressed a light kiss to his lips. Those lips—sucked, bitten, and licked for two straight days—were swollen to the point of bursting. When he kissed them, pain must have flared, because the crease between Chaika’s brows deepened.

Mihail supported Chaika’s upper body and helped him sit up, then brought a cup of water to his lips. Chaika tried to hold the cup himself with both hands, but his hands trembled violently, unable to muster the strength. Mihail slowly tilted the cup, helping him drink.

Chaika sipped a little, paused, then sipped again, repeating the process until he finally emptied the cup. Mihail set the empty cup aside and wiped the water from Chaika’s lips with his thumb. Perhaps the water helped clear his head—light gradually returned to the violet eyes that had been so blank.

Those violet eyes swept slowly over his own body, smeared with bite marks, handprints, and dried semen, before lifting to meet Mihail’s gaze. After staring at him silently for a moment, Chaika’s lips pressed into a tight, straight line. The color of his eyes deepened, filling with resentment.

“Why… even though I said I hated it, why did you do that to me?”

Chaika poured out his bitterness through clenched teeth. His eyes reddened, tears welling up.

“I said I hated it. I said I hated it! So why did you force me? I hated it!”

After spewing out his resentment, Chaika suddenly looked around frantically. He grabbed the nearest pillow and began hitting Mihail with it, thump after thump.

“You’re awful! I hate you! How could you do that? I said I didn’t want it! I said I hated it! Lord Nile was right—alphas are all bastards!”

No matter how much he was hit with a pillow stuffed full of soft feathers, it didn’t hurt in the slightest. If it helped Chaika vent his anger, that was enough. Mihail quietly let himself be hit. In the end, it was Chaika who gave out first. After barely eating or drinking and devoting himself entirely to sex for two days, there was no strength left in his body.

“……You’re really terrible….”

Panting, Chaika tossed the pillow aside and spoke through tears. The tears trembling in his eyes finally spilled over, dripping down, and then he suddenly broke into loud sobs.

“…I’m sorry.”

Mihail murmured an apology and tried to pull Chaika into his arms. But Chaika scooted backward and threw the pillow at him.

“Don’t come near me!”

When Mihail stopped, Chaika burst into tears again.

Having no experience whatsoever in comforting someone who was crying, Mihail felt utterly at a loss. He watched Chaika sob for a moment, then approached and wrapped him tightly in his arms once more. A lovely body that fit perfectly against his own. Chaika flailed in protest, punching Mihail’s shoulder over and over, but the blows were so weak they were nothing more than adorable.

“I’m sorry, Chaika. I’m sorry.”

In truth, he wasn’t sorry at all—but Mihail lied to soothe him.

“It’s all my fault. I’m sorry. Hmm?”

As Mihail whispered apologies over and over by his ear, Chaika’s punches finally stopped. The loud sobbing gradually subsided as well. Sniffling and shedding silent tears, Chaika was wrapped in a sheet and cradled snugly in Mihail’s arms as Mihail summoned the servants waiting outside and ordered them to prepare a bath.

A large wooden tub was carried into the center of the room, and servants filed in, pouring in hot water. Once everything was ready, they all withdrew. Carrying Chaika, Mihail got down from the bed and stepped into the bath. Careful that the water wouldn’t be too hot for him, he sat down slowly, letting Chaika’s body sink in from the tips of his toes. A soft sigh escaped Chaika’s lips, and the tension in his body melted away.

Seeing the look of satisfaction bloom on Chaika’s face, Mihail chuckled quietly. Chaika immediately shot him a resentful glare.

“After soaking in hot water for a bit, the pain and discomfort should ease a lot.”

When Mihail spoke gently, the resentment in Chaika’s eyes softened just a little. After being tormented for two days straight, it was impossible not to feel better once his body was submerged in warm water. The strength he’d been using to avoid leaning on Mihail drained away, and soon he was fully nestled against Mihail’s chest.

How much time passed like that? Just as Chaika, lulled by the comfort, began to nod off with his eyes half-closed, a knock sounded. Entering the room was the physician dispatched from Marquis Lucius’s household, the one who had been caring for Chaika.

“I’ve brought the medicine. You need to take it now.”

At the physician’s words, Mihail gestured for him to come closer. The physician approached and handed the medicine bowl to Mihail. Inside was a very small amount of Bellagie juice.

“Isn’t it time to stop it completely?”

It was a poison that gnawed away at Chaika’s body. Mihail asked with a deep furrow in his brow.

“We’ll change it from once every three days to once a week starting today. After that, depending on his condition, I believe we can stop it entirely.”

“That’s a relief.”

Once a week starting today meant it wouldn’t be long before he could quit it altogether. With a somewhat eased heart, Mihail handed the bowl to Chaika. Chaika drank the tiny amount of juice as though it were a precious liquor, draining it down to the very last drop before handing the empty bowl back to the physician.

“If it weren’t for you, Lord Mihail, he likely wouldn’t have survived this heat cycle and would have died of shock.”

Instead of leaving immediately, the physician addressed Chaika. But contrary to his intention, resentment flared once more in Chaika’s eyes.

“If I’d kept taking the medicine, this wouldn’t have happened in the first place.”

“It’s a poison with such strong toxicity that it destroys the internal organs. If you keep taking it, you won’t live more than ten years.”

“I don’t care.”

Chaika said coldly. The physician made an awkward expression. Mihail waved his hand, dismissing him.

“Why are you being so stubborn? You could live a hundred, two hundred years—why insist on a path where you die after just ten?”

At Mihail’s words, Chaika lowered his gaze. The resentment that had lingered on his face vanished, and a deep sorrow welled up in his downcast eyes.

“…You hate omegas… don’t you? That’s why Lord Nile hated me too.”

It was an unexpected answer.

“So you were going to keep taking the medicine because you were afraid I’d come to hate you?”

“…….”

Chaika pressed his lips together and didn’t respond.

“You have to answer, Chaika.”

Mihail lifted Chaika’s chin and forced him to meet his gaze. In those violet eyes, countless emotions were tangled together in chaos.

“…….”

Chaika’s lips trembled, but no answer came.
