[Q. Has anything changed through your appearance on ‘Can Love Be Transferred Too?’]
An Lei: Many things changed. Because I met Chan hyung. I think I was able to think beyond just being a good dating partner to something more than that.
We’re inevitably connected professionally too, right? I became inspiration for hyung, and hyung showed me a new world. There’s fun in coordinating with the various designs of clothes that Chan hyung shows me. Every time that happened, I thought, ah, I’m really glad I met this hyung on Can Love Be Transferred Too?.
[Q. Are you saying you continue to meet even after filming?]
Lee Chan: Yes, we’re meeting with good feelings. I think we made a precious connection through Can Love Be Transferred Too?.
(Whether the relationship with X has been cleanly resolved.) I think we’re taking time. Since the time we were connected was long, it probably can’t be done all at once.
As I’ve said several times before, I know I wasn’t a particularly good boyfriend to Sanho. Both after we broke up and when we were dating. Thinking about those aspects… yes. I’d like to arrange a meeting after emotions are properly sorted out.
[Q. If there’s something you gained through this opportunity.]
Hwang Yeonwoo: I gained Sehyeong hyung. He’s my best friend, haha.
Of course I normally thought about wanting to contact Sehyeong hyung again. But you all know, right? Meeting someone you broke up with badly again, resolving old emotions, and finding an appropriate distance with that person. It’s easy to say but really difficult in practice. I think there are some necessary conditions to do that, and Can Love Be Transferred Too? laid the groundwork for us… that was my impression.
I contact almost all the other Can Love Be Transferred Too? family members, not just Sehyeong hyung. I gained reliable friends. (Do you meet regularly?) Yes, of course! I’m being very clingy right now. We even have a group chat.
[Q. How are you getting along with Han Jiwon-ssi?]
– Bae Taeseong: That bastard, really. Don’t even get me started.
The screen went dark for a moment. And a few seconds later, subtitles appeared.
[2 months after the final choice, June.]
What was first shown were hands moving busily. The movements of cutting and stir-frying garlic, onions, mushrooms and such into nice shapes were both diligent and neat.
Soon the figure of a young man wearing an apron came into view properly. It was Yoo Sanho.
– It was one of my bucket list items.
A warm smile suddenly appeared on Yoo Sanho’s fine face, which had been deeply concentrated.
– This is the first time I’ve properly established myself. When I became able to formally present my cooking to the world, I wanted to serve my food to someone precious.
Appetizing-looking dishes began filling the table. Each one was carefully prepared.
– Bean salad with thinly sliced triple cream cheese on top, and shrimp bisque pasta. I cooked the chicken breast as tenderly as possible using sous vide to make it into steak. I was going to use beef, but you said you were managing your diet.
It was a voice that seemed slightly excited, chattering a bit faster than usual.
– For dessert, I made a cobbler using peaches, which are in season. It goes well with ice cream on top, but at our restaurant we decided to put our homemade quince herb sorbet on top. I developed it myself, and thankfully many people really liked it.
When he lit a small candle and placed it on the table, a small bell sound rang out. Yoo Sanho’s head, which had been glancing toward the door, also turned quickly as if he had been waiting.
“Sanho hyung.”
Jin Woohyeon stood there with his hands behind his back. He smiled broadly as soon as their eyes met and handed over what he had been hiding behind his back.
“Thank you for inviting me. This is a gift.”
What Jin Woohyeon offered was a bouquet of red roses and a bottle of wine.
“I told you it was fine to come empty-handed. A kid who’s busy and tired from filming, what time would he have…”
“I prepared it in advance like hyung, so it’s fine. How could I just come when it’s my first time being invited to your workplace?”
“Thank you. It smells good. Sit down and I’ll get a vase.”
“Let’s do that later and open the wine first?”
Yoo Sanho tilted his head but unwrapped the wine as Jin Woohyeon instructed. It was a little later when his eyes widened after reading the small card inside the box.
“You… how on earth did you get this?”
“My mother’s hobby is collecting wine, so I asked for permission and got a bottle. I got a little hint from the manager. He said you wanted to try it. Right?”
“Of course you’re right. But considering the price and how hard it is to get, I had given up on it.”
“Fortunately, I have that much ability. Now, you can admire it while drinking, I think that would be fine.”
When Jin Woohyeon pulled out a chair, Yoo Sanho sat down naturally.
A warm atmosphere continued throughout eating the prepared food. Every time Yoo Sanho chattered excitedly about something, Jin Woohyeon just listened to his stories with a smiling face, and when there was a brief break, he diligently brought food to the appetizer plate and told him which parts were especially delicious.
“It would have been better to see you cooking too, but that’s a bit disappointing.”
“You saw plenty during filming.”
“Your appearance at work is a bit different though.”
Yoo Sanho, who let out a small laugh, gestured toward the kitchen.
“We have an open kitchen. Come during business hours sometime. It’ll be a bit difficult to take separate time to sit together, but… if you bring friends, I’ll give you lots of service.”
“How could that be? I should take responsibility and boost sales. Will you scold me if I ring the golden bell?”
No sooner had the words ended than Yoo Sanho smacked his shoulder.
“Of course I’ll scold you. Do you want to keep spending the money you work so hard to earn like that?”
“It wasn’t that hard. It’s free money.”
“Who would believe that, you fool?”
Yoo Sanho’s nagging poured out as if he had been waiting.
“What free money? You can’t even rest properly because you’re filming, sleeping in bits for days, waiting for hours in the van is basic, and last time you came back after getting your back all cut up by glass shards while filming an action scene!”
“……”
“Work is good. I know you inevitably get hurt. Where in the world is there easy work? I know… I know everything, but how can you call the money you earn through such hardship free money? How precious it is. How precious you are.”
Unlike Yoo Sanho with his deeply serious expression, Jin Woohyeon remained calm. He reached out and lightly caressed Yoo Sanho’s lips with his thumb as he chattered busily.
“You’re right. Listening to hyung, it makes sense. When I was earning it, it felt like money earned through quite a bit of hardship…”
“……”
“Since hyung knows and acknowledges everything like this, it naturally feels better. So what hardship could it be?”
“…You’re impossible.”
Yoo Sanho, who was gently scraping the surface of the quince sorbet with his fork, asked.
“Why did you want to become an actor?”
“Hmm?”
“Just curious. There’s not just one job in the entertainment industry. Woohyeon, you sing well and you’re handsome. You’re tall… and you even speak well. If you wanted, couldn’t you be an idol or a model too?”
“Oh.”
Jin Woohyeon scooped up a small bit of ice cream and fed it to Yoo Sanho while expressing admiration.
“In that sense, I did often receive modeling offers, but idol is quite fresh. Do I seem handsome enough to be an idol, in hyung’s eyes?”
“…It’s not like you’re hearing you’re handsome for the first or second time, why are you being like this all of a sudden?”
“Of course. The compliments hyung gives me are new and thrilling every single time and moment. I’m full of thoughts about diligently managing myself for life to seduce hyung with my face.”
“You, really.”
Jin Woohyeon’s gentle voice rang out.
“I wanted to live various lives.”
“……”
“People often say that. That life is a series of possibilities. I wanted to test as many possibilities given to me as possible. I wanted to live the lives of as many people as possible…”
“So you acted. Because for that moment, you can live as someone else.”
“Seems a bit greedy?”
“No.”
Yoo Sanho, who slowly shook his head, answered with a voice full of laughter.
“It’s cool. I’m weak when it comes to familiar things. I’m slow at learning and it takes me a long time to adapt. Maybe that’s why I get scared I won’t be able to do it whenever I try something new. But you’re not like that. You seem brave.”
“Hyung is brave too.”
Jin Woohyeon whispered affectionately.
“That’s why you’re dating me, isn’t it?”
– How does it feel to cross off one bucket list item? Of course I’m happy. It feels like a dream.
Yoo Sanho’s voice from the interview continued.
– I was happy to be able to spend time with someone I like.
