Chapter 92

The camera shows all eight people seated quietly around lounge chairs, listening to a song. But only Yu Shiqing, sitting opposite Jiang Yu, draws the audience’s attention. They don’t speak they only share simple yet intense glances.

Today is the live premiere of Jiang Yu’s new song. He’s played and practiced it countless times. He occasionally looks at the guitar strings, sometimes reads the lyrics but most of the time, he pours all his emotion into the music and directs it at Yu Shiqing.

On the mountainside, sunset bathes them in stunning light. Yu Shiqing sits in the glow, his expression hidden in shadow. Jiang Yu stares deeply into his calm, steady eyes.

The director urges the cameraman to move closer and capture the moment. They both know this performance will go viral. The camera angles all focus on Jiang Yu. He cradles his guitar barefoot, in a simple T-shirt, more radiant than at any concert. His fans, including Ji Chen, are surprised and moved by the soft smile that never leaves his lips. This is a love song. And it’s clear who it’s for. Jiang Yu doesn’t hide it.

Yu Shiqing expected this Jiang Yu has always been this open. But seeing those honest eyes, he hesitates. His plan to keep distance has completely failed. Jiang Yu never agreed to separate them before, and now he never will again.

As the final melody plays, Jiang Yu stops the guitar’s vibration with his hand. He pauses, then turns to Yu Shiqing. “How did you like it?”

Applause breaks out. Ji Chen, flushed with excitement: “So good! Of course, it’s Jiang Ge’s song!” Su Yayi grabs Wu Luo’s hand, eyes bright: “It’s beautiful, Jy Ge!” Wu Luo nods, just as excited.

Jiang Yu, though, still looks only at Yu Shiqing. He tightens his grip on the strings. “Are you pleased?”

He composed the song on his own, without discussing it with Yu Shiqing. The applause and chatter stop, all eyes shift to Yu Shiqing.

Yu Shiqing meets Jiang Yu’s gaze. “Beautiful song,” he replies.

Jiang Yu smiles, deeper now. “Glad you appreciate it.” The group cheers again.

Su Yayi teases: “Jy Ge, you’re making everyone read too much. Why do you care about Yu Ge’s approval so much?”

Jiang Yu sets his guitar aside. “Because this was Yu Laoshi’s review.”

Su Yayi pauses. “Review?”

“Exactly,” Jiang Yu glances back at Yu Shiqing, a playful arc to his lips. “Extra credit, right, Yu Laoshi?”

Yu Shiqing glances at him and decides to play along. “Yes.”

They’re near a cliff, and a sudden breeze blows in as the sun sets. Wei Yuanju suggests heading inside.

On the way back, Ji Chen says, “Hearing this song reminds me of that fake news!”

Su Yayi: “Fake news?”

Ji Chen: “Someone claimed Jy Ge is actually married.”

At that, Jiang Yu’s gaze sharpens and his voice turns cold. “Married?”

Yu Shiqing stands nearby, he won’t tolerate this kind of rumor. Ji Chen freezes under his stare.

Su Yayi prompts, “So, who is it?”

Ji Chen: “Yu Ge.”

They say he and Yu Ge are married because of the song’s title.

Jiang Yu’s eyes flick to Yu Shiqing: “You and Yu Shiqing?”

Ji Chen nods: “Yes, they say ‘Rain Clears the Sky’ reads like ‘Yu clears the sky.’”

Su Yayi marvels: “That’s clever.”

Yu Shiqing turns to Jiang Yu. Jiang Yu glances away, calm.

Ji Chen, sensing Jiang Yu’s irritation, quickly changes the subject: “I’m jealous. You finished the song!”

Wei Yuanju helps: “What are you jealous of?”

Ji Chen: “I wanted to write the show’s theme song.”

Wei Yuanju asks: “Did you finish?”

Ji Chen shakes his head: “Two-thirds done.”

Wei Yuanju: “Lyrics or melody?”

Ji Chen: “Neither. I found the theme.”

“Travel,” he says. “A trip on a whim.”

Wei Yuanju shakes his head: “I’ll leave you to it.”

He moves to Yu Shiqing, says: “Hurry up and finish it, cool down the spinach!”

Yu Shiqing asks: “What will he write?”

Wei Yuanju: “He’s writing the theme song, but hasn’t done it yet.”

Jiang Yu walks with Yu Shiqing. Ji Chen, flustered, says, “I have ideas!” and plays a rough melody on his phone.

Jiang Yu hears it and glances at him: “Send me a copy.”

Ji Chen does, then asks, “Jy Ge, will you help me brainstorm?”

Jiang Yu: “Yes.”

Ji Chen excitedly declares: “Jy Ge, I love you!”

Jiang Yu smirks: “I’m married now. And Yu Laoshi is right there. Don’t get too familiar.”

Ji Chen laughs nervously: “I’ll stop reading rumors.”

Jiang Yu says nothing. He receives the audio file and sits beside Yu Shiqing in the living room. He writes something in his notebook. Everyone waits without interrupting, then moves to another room to plan the next day’s trip.

20 minutes pass. Ji Chen hears a notification and shouts: “Jy Ge, you sent me something?”

Su Yayi: “What did Jy Ge send?”

Ji Chen shows her: “He finished it! He sent me a demo.”

Su Yayi and Wei Yuanju stare in surprise.

Wei Yuanju: “Play it!”

Ji Chen plays the demo. After it ends, he grins happily. “It’s Jy Ge’s song! It’s so good!”

Su Yayi exclaims: “In less than 20 minutes, and it has lyrics with rhyme.”

She laughs in disbelief: “Jy Ge, are you even human?”

Jiang Yu’s voice suddenly sounds from behind: “What do you think I am?”

Su Yayi freezes, then replies with forced excitement: “A god! A god in human form!”

The livestream chat goes wild:

“If this wasn’t live, no way I’d believe someone is this talented 20 minutes to write a song, and half the time was spent talking to Yu Shiqing!”
“Let’s not forget. This is the song for Yu Shiqing! Each line drips with deep, thoughtful love!”
“Rain clears the sky? Yes—Yu clears the sky! Pisces forever!”

The six guests cheer in turn:

“Jy Ge, you’re amazing!”
“In 20 minutes too!”

To avoid turning the travel show into a personal stage, Jiang Yu finishes speaking to Ji Chen, then picks up his guitar and returns upstairs with Yu Shiqing.

Inside their room, he gently guides Yu Shiqing to sit on the bed. Yu Shiqing smiles and waits.

Jiang Yu pulls a chair and sits opposite him with his guitar.

Yu Shiqing asks, “Are you going to sing?”
Jiang Yu: “Yes.”
Yu Shiqing: “Which one?”
Jiang Yu: “You’ll know when you hear it.”

He pauses, frowns, then moves another step closer. Yu Shiqing asks, “What is it?”

Jiang Yu says: “Turn off the mic.”

Yu Shiqing lets him.

The livestream falls silent. Jiang Yu picks up the guitar and starts playing.

Chat erupts:

“What? The camera’s fixed, but the sound is gone! Director?! Turn mic on the guest!!!!”

It spread online that the washed-up film emperor, Yu Shiqing, was seen entering and leaving the same hotel as the popular idol Jiang Yu. The media, eager for gossip, rushed to get an interview. As usual, Yu Shiqing refused: “Don’t disturb me while filming.” Jiang Yu, known for being strong-willed, said, “You guys should know your limits when making things up. How could two Alphas have a scandal?” Even the fans came out to clarify professionally: “They’re filming together. Please don’t misunderstand!” That night. Inside the hotel. For some reason, Yu Shiqing pinned the wrong Jiang Yu against the door and bit his gland. With a strange Alpha’s pheromones invading his body, Jiang Yu felt both pain and pleasure. His face turned dark with anger. “Hey, bastard, you bit the wrong person!” Yu Shiqing looked up and, oh— it really was the wrong person. So he simply apologized: “Sorry. Let’s pretend tonight never happened.” Jiang Yu: “…” Scumbag! If I don’t turn this around, I’ve lost!
