Chapter 67

Yu Shiqing and Jiang Yu were walking away, nearing the edge of view, when the director and crew hurried after them. Staff formed a line to block the tourists.
“Please move aside. Our guest is hurt, we need to pass!”

After a long walk, they finally met the on-site doctor. With tourists snapping photos everywhere, the director led them all into a staff tent for privacy. Once the noise outside was muted, the doctor began examining Yu Shiqing. Jiang Yu watched anxiously, brows tightening each time Yu flinched. “How bad is it?” he asked.

The doctor shook his head. “Not good. He needs to go to the hospital.”
Jiang Yu stepped forward. “Is it serious?”
The doctor took a step back under his icy glare. “It’s not that bad the bone isn’t fully broken, but there’s a clear crack.”
“Oh no!” guests and the director murmured in shock.
The doctor continued: “Still, it’s best to get an X‑ray to confirm the fracture.”

The director said, “The car’s here!” There was a tense hush.
Ji Chen asked, “What happened exactly?”
No one, not even the director, had seen it clearly. They checked the footage and rewound to the accident. The camera had panned away just before Yu Shiqing’s two team‑mates, joking and aiming bows, lost their footing. One slipped, yanked the other forward then an arrow flew toward Jiang Yu.

Reacting instantly, Yu Shiqing caught Jiang Yu in his arms just in time. The cameraman ran over as the scene dissolved into chaos. The director paused on the footage; everyone stared at each other in shock.

Even the doctor sighed, “Those arrows travel over seventy meters with strong force. Thankfully that one had no metal tip and Yu Shiqing stopped it. If it hit Jiang Yu’s neck, the result would be unthinkable.”
The director broke into a cold sweat.
Ji Chen asked: “So it hit the hand?”
Doctor: “No, it struck the shoulder or upper chest. Yu’s fit and well-built bones absorbed it. Someone weaker could have ended with a serious break.”
Ji Chen nodded, realizing the risk.

The doctor attempted a light joke: “So exercise and strength training really help prevent injuries!” But the tent remained tense ever since “bone crack” was mentioned.

Yu Shiqing took a call got up, closed the flap, and stepped outside. His movements were a bit awkward. One-handed, his dominant hand unused.
Inside, Jiang Yu’s face darkened. The mood grew heavy.

Outside, he answered: “I saw the live stream. Your arm if it’s bad, go home and rest. I’ll work it out with production to pause your shooting.”
Yu Shiqing: “No need.”
Ren Bai frowned: “But the doctor.”
Yu Shiqing cut in, calm and firm: “It’s my job. And it’s just a minor injury.”

Ren Bai scrolled through his phone: “You trended over your injury on live stream. If your mom had seen….”
At that, Yu Shiqing asked: “How’s the legal case proceeding?”

Ren Bai reeled off updates: “It’s going well. It’ll be a long fight, but your mother is stable, and YuanYuan is helping her job‑hunt.”
Yu Shiqing: “Thanks, Ren Bai.”
Ren Bai: “Your matters are mine too!” He summarized details, then Yu Shiqing checked the time and hung up.

Back inside, tension eased when Yu returned. The director announced, “The car is ready. Let’s head to the hospital.”

Jiang Yu took a step forward: “I’ll go with him.”
The director hesitated.
Yu Shiqing spoke, turning to Jiang Yu: “You stay.”

Everyone was surprised. Yu needed treatment and security, and a big production entourage at the hospital would draw attention and potentially expose their move. Removing both from the live would kill viewer interest. Yu Shiqing looked into Jiang Yu’s eyes: “You stay and finish your tasks. I’ll be back soon.”

Ji Chen asked: “Jiang brother’s what task?”
Su Yayi answered: “Filming your camera work!”
Ji Chen looked around: “Where’s Jiang’s camera?”
The director winced. Jiang Yu had dropped and smashed it earlier.

Meanwhile, Yu and Jiang walked to the car, guided by the doctor. At the car door, Yu paused and looked at Jiang. His face was cold and unreadable.
He said gently: “Don’t worry too much.”

Jiang Yu clenched his fingers, then lowered his gaze.
Yu placed a hand on his neck and thumb on his cheek, tilting his face up softly. “It’s not your fault, okay?”
Jiang Yu’s voice was husky. “I’ll wait for you.”

Yu nodded and withdrew his hand.
Jiang Yu: “I’ll see you home.”
Yu Shiqing glanced at him, then got into the car. The driver closed the door, and they sped toward the hospital.

Jiang Yu watched until the car vanished around the corner, then walked back to Ji Chen and the others. As the cameraman followed, the live comments flooded:

“My heart is pounding. I was holding my phone under the quilt!”
“I cried, real alpha chemistry!! I can’t even!”
“Are they real? #PiscesCP?”

Quiet returned as they reached the range.

Meanwhile, Yu Shiqing sat with eyes closed in the back of the car. He woke when they neared the hospital staff announced their arrival.

They had a reservation and checked in smoothly. Scans confirmed a minor bone crack arm in plaster for a week.

In under an hour, and with a doctor accompanying them, he was discharged. The production arranged a local dinner and award ceremony in his absence. When Yu stepped out, Ji Chen sprayed him with confetti.

Su Yayi held a ribbon above him. “Congrats, Yu – Hero’s Award!” Staff and cameraman cheered.

Yu, a bit embarrassed, accepted the medal from Wei Yuanju: “Thank you.” At night, he noticed a makeshift red carpet of pink cloth but said nothing.
Wei Yuanju guided him: “You must be starved. Come eat.”
Ji Chen and Su Yayi helped him to the table.

Yu glanced around the seats; one was empty. Jiang Yu approached. He handed him a wet napkin and the serving chopsticks.

“Tell me what do you want to eat?” His sleeves were rolled up.
Yu Shiqing paused: “Aren’t you going to explain?”
Jiang Yu answered: “From now on, I’ll take care of you—your meals, your care.” Then he noticed the plaster and added: “You can’t refuse this. You have to accept it.”

Around them, the others began eating, unaware of the quiet exchange. Yu Shiqing sipped water, then met Jiang’s eyes. “This even needs thinking?”

Jiang Yu set the glass down, leaned back, and met his gaze with a soft smile. “Okay.”

After all, he hadn’t offered much choice.

It spread online that the washed-up film emperor, Yu Shiqing, was seen entering and leaving the same hotel as the popular idol Jiang Yu. The media, eager for gossip, rushed to get an interview. As usual, Yu Shiqing refused: “Don’t disturb me while filming.” Jiang Yu, known for being strong-willed, said, “You guys should know your limits when making things up. How could two Alphas have a scandal?” Even the fans came out to clarify professionally: “They’re filming together. Please don’t misunderstand!” That night. Inside the hotel. For some reason, Yu Shiqing pinned the wrong Jiang Yu against the door and bit his gland. With a strange Alpha’s pheromones invading his body, Jiang Yu felt both pain and pleasure. His face turned dark with anger. “Hey, bastard, you bit the wrong person!” Yu Shiqing looked up and, oh— it really was the wrong person. So he simply apologized: “Sorry. Let’s pretend tonight never happened.” Jiang Yu: “…” Scumbag! If I don’t turn this around, I’ve lost!
