Hearing Jiang Yu’s voice, Yu Shiqing smiled and fell silent, wiped his face, then exited the bathroom. Everyone else was still asleep. He didn’t remove the towel over the camera to avoid accidentally walking out half-dressed on live stream. He first filled a cup with hot water from the dispenser, then asked Jiang Yu, “Do you want some?”
Jiang Yu opened his mouth, then noticed the camera. Yu laughed and said, “I forgot you’re working. Never mind.”
Jiang Yu paused for a moment. The live comment stream was filled with laughter. Then the screen spun before freezing on the yurt’s leather surface. Only their voices could be heard from the live feed:
Yu Shiqing teased, “Why’d you stop filming?”
Jiang Yu replied, “I’m going to wash up.” His footsteps faded into silence.
Yu Shiqing changed clothes in the stall while Jiang Yu washed up. When he came out, the youngest three were already up and greeted him in turn.
“Good morning, senior.”
“You woke up early.”
Hearing the movement, Ji Chen and Su Yayi walked out yawning. The bathroom line was long, so they chatted in place. Ji Chen noticed the camera and lifted it toward Su Yayi. “Jiang, are you filming all day? Looks tough.”
Su Yayi, still sleepy, rubbed foam from her toothbrush and said, “The live isn’t on. Why worry?”
Ji Chen shook his head and aimed the camera toward
Jiang Yu as he stepped out: “You’re changing clothes, right? Mind if I borrow this cam?”
Jiang Yu simply walked to Yu Shiqing. Suited in pajamas, he asked, “Did you bring it up?”
Yu replied, “In the suitcase. Go get it.”
Jiang Yu headed into Yu’s stall. Ji Chen warned, “Brother Jiang, wrong stall.”
Jiang Yu turned and shot a sharp look. “I know.” He swept the curtain aside and entered.
Ji Chen muttered, “You know but still go in?”
Moments later, Jiang Yu’s voice sounded, “Where’s my suitcase?”
Through the camera, everyone saw Yu follow him inside, hidden by the curtain. The comments erupted:
“They don’t know the live is on and they’re just doing whatever!”
“Are they actually roommates? I’m shipping it!”
“Ji Chen be brave, move closer!”
“Why aren’t they using mics? Pangolin, what did you two say?”
Wu Luo emerged from the bathroom and spotted Ji Chen with the camera.
“Peer, there’s a letter.”
Ji Chen read it aloud. It gave an address for archery training and warned the live cam would be on, “be careful.”
Ji Chen realized: “So the live’s on?”
Wu Luo waved at the camera: “Hi watchers, good morning!”
Ji Chen grimaced: “It’s on?”
Su Yayi rushed forward, toothbrush in mouth, and tried to erase the mess but it was too late. Ji Chen laughed mercilessly: “Give it up, too late to fix it.”
Su Yayi chased after him, shouting, “I’ll kill you, Ji Chen!”
Yu and Jiang exited the stall to see Su Yayi chasing Ji Chen. Wei Yuanju also woke up.
“Morning,” he greeted, then remarked, “More people, more lively.”
It took an hour for everyone to settle and have breakfast. Ji Chen said, “Our ride is still the truck?” Su Yayi gasped more embarrassment for her. Ji Chen added, “But it’s just twenty minutes away.” They stayed outside the tourist train area.
After breakfast, the group reached the training field and found the coach. The coach said the challenge was horseback or archery, not both; Ji Chen felt a relief.
“Which is easier?” he asked.
“Both are hard.” the coach replied. Ji Chen saw the archery range and guessed it was easier than horse riding. The coach encouraged him to try.
When the coach handed him the lightest bow, Ji Chen scoffed, “Too light! Give me the heaviest!”
Yu Shiqing lowered his hand: “Weight isn’t the point, find one that suits.”
Ji Chen, surprised, obeyed. The coach explained how to hold the arrow.
Ji Chen then pulled and stopped halfway. Su Yayi urged him on. Embarrassed, he pretended to warm up then pulled it fully.
The coach asked if he wanted a heavier one; he gave it to Wei Yuanju, who also struggled and sat out. Three omegas couldn’t pull even the light one, so they chose horseback. Alpha Zhu Yulan managed the first bow.
Only Yu Shiqing hadn’t tried. Ji Chen ran up: “Which will you use?”
Yu picked the third bow not the heaviest, not the lightest.
Ji Chen: “But you need to aim at the target is this one okay?”
Yu smiled: “Let’s see.”
He nocked an arrow slowly. Jiang Yu walked beside him:
“How far is it?”
Yu replied after looking back: “About seventy meters.”
The coach confirmed the range.
Ji Chen said: “Impossible to hit, it’s too far.”
The coach said Ji Chen could ride instead. Ji Chen froze. They didn’t know horseback, so they must try archery.
Yu Shiqing loaded an arrow, released—thwack—it hit the target dead center.
“Bullseye!” Ji Chen and the crowd cheered.
The coach confirmed: “Ten ring.”
The comment stream exploded:
“Yu Shiqing is too handsome!”
“Jiang Yu’s shots are on point capturing that profile!”
“He just continues to surprise!”
Yu returned the bow, smiled and asked Jiang: “Where’s my prize?”
Jiang Yu replied: “Whatever you want.”
Yu asked: “Anything?”
“Anything,” Jiang said, and added calmly: “Want as a prize, me?”
The live chat erupted:
“Say yes, say yes!”
“They’re basically proposing on camera!”
“Shocking! An alpha male star proposing to his same-sex friend!”
