Chapter 29
“Ah…AAAAHHH!!!!!”
The man who sparred with Ender had his two legs bent in an unnatural direction. Ender was wearing light black athletic wear. He wore headgear, but it didn’t seem particularly necessary. Ender, who had brought the man to his knees without even using his abilities, flashed his red eyes.
“It’s not broken yet.”
And Ender kicked again toward the man’s oddly bent knee. What followed was a horrific scene that Anschel could hardly bear to watch.
People who had turned pale called and brought the military medical team. The man with two broken legs was that peer who had previously provoked Ender. He never returned to the military again.
And some time later, on a day of military training. Ender crossed the sea with an elderly man of the same rank who had previously provoked him, conducting naval combat training for warships.
When Ender and all the warships finished training and returned to the base, surprisingly, the old major who had been with him was missing. It was ruled as Missing at Sea (IMO).
“The old man must have fallen into the sea.”
Ender said brazenly without even smiling. And four days later, the rescued man would scream and foam at the mouth whenever he saw Ender. He too, after fainting with his eyes rolled back, could never return to the military.
Watching Ender floating in the air, crossing his legs as if sitting in a chair, Anschel thought:
‘That cold-hearted bastard. A psychopath…’
“But… the Colonel seems healthy.”
At Angela’s words, Harriet nodded. His vigorous junior was so healthy that he would get an erection just from Harriet moving slightly. Angela muttered that she would sooner believe Harriet had given up sweets than believe that Ender, who got excited at any time, was impotent.
Anschel sighed and nodded. His expression showed complete understanding, but his gaze was directed at Harriet. Who would have thought Ender McGuire would be such a faithful man? Though whether “faithful” was the right word to describe it was debatable.
“His sexual desire is concentrated solely in one place.”
At Anschel’s murmur, the gazes of everyone present turned to Harriet. Harriet was wearing a somewhat serious expression. Angela was startled by his expression.
“The captain’s face looks more serious than when he’s debating whether to put whipped cream on his cocoa!”
It was a concern typical of Harriet, who had recently become interested in health. Whether to put whipped cream on warm cocoa or not was his biggest worry these days.
“Well… there were those who provoked or ignored him.”
Just as Anschel was saying that they all ended their military careers at the Colonel’s hands, a sharp sound—clang!—reached his ears. It seemed Harriet had dropped a mug he treasured onto the floor.
“Oh dear,”
Anschel clicked his tongue as he picked up Harriet’s walking stick that had fallen to the floor. Then he quickly held out the walking stick toward Harriet.
“Are you okay?”
“……”
“…?”
Anschel narrowed his eyes and furrowed his brows. It was to verify whether what he saw was really true. Even Angela and Ryan were startled and opened their eyes wide.
And for good reason—Harriet’s face had turned blue. He truly looked shocked.
‘What’s suddenly wrong with this man?’
Anschel and Angela, who had learned to communicate with their eyes thanks to Ender, exchanged glances. Both with the surname An, it seemed their hearts connected too.
‘I don’t know.’
Angela shook her head.
“Oh my… Um, Anschel, could we… talk for a bit?”
Was it me? What mistake did I make?
Anschel’s face, though he was much higher in rank, turned as white as Harriet’s. He instinctively knew that if he bothered Harriet, he would surely end up just like those half-crippled guys dealt with by Ender.
“Ah~ The grandmother next door asked me to pick some cucumbers.”
“The village head said we should patrol… I’ll be going.”
Angela and Ryan, who had been worried about getting caught in the crossfire, quickly left the office.
Damn, the cucumber patch is tiny with only 12 plants, and the village head drank all night yesterday so he’ll only patrol around lunchtime!
Anschel looked enviously at the backs of the two people leaving and raised his hand. Even in this serious situation, Anschel updated the new information that Harriet could actually show expressions.
What could have made the usually composed Harriet Alster so nervous?
“…Ender.”
I see. So it was about Ender McGuire after all.
Anschel unconsciously tensed up as he waited for Harriet’s next words. The red-tinged lips on that white face barely opened.
“Despite how he looks, he has a tender heart and is kind…”
“……”
“……”
“…Pardon?”
He missed the timing to respond by a beat. Thinking his ears must be playing tricks on him lately, he resolved to focus on Harriet’s words this time.
“One more time…”
“Ender, despite how he looks, actually has a tender heart.”
“……”
Anschel, with a dazed expression, couldn’t help but drool. He had been told many times in his life that he was rational and cool-headed, but since coming here, thinking normally had become difficult.
Does a tender-hearted person break his peer’s legs under the pretense of sparring and make his senior drift in the middle of the sea?
“He’ll surely be sad if he’s mocked.”
Harriet’s mind was currently filled with images of Ender wiping away tears, depressed after being ridiculed by his military peers, close seniors, and juniors. If Anschel had seen that imagination, he would have fallen backwards, contorting his body and shouting in denial.
“But Ender is very… vigorous, isn’t he?”
Of course, that was only limited to the senior he worshipped, but Harriet seemed to be the only one who didn’t know that. Anschel seriously wondered how someone like this had survived in a military laboratory full of countless schemes and plots.
Harriet played with his white hair as he spoke.
“So, isn’t there a way for Ender to avoid getting an F rating at least?”
Ah… so this is a consultation.
Anschel swallowed the advice that Ender would receive a special S grade just by having Harriet stand in front of him during the test.
Surely Harriet, not properly understanding Anschel’s words, would go to Ender and ask, “I heard you could get an S grade if I stand in front of you, is that true?” And Ender would ask, “Which bastard said I got an F?”
Anschel gulped and whispered to Harriet.
“Well… there are ways, but.”
“…?”
Anschel suggested a method, and though Harriet didn’t understand that method either, he nodded.
* * *
Ender was incredibly handsome. That probably wasn’t just in Harriet’s eyes. The medical staff in the distance absent-mindedly looked at Ender’s broad back, blushing and stealing glances.
A hero who brought victory to humans, Ender, who received love and attention from many, was already one of the VIPs to be treated with the utmost respect in the hospital.
Ender, who had changed into a gown for the examination, was truly sexy and splendid. His collarbone was briefly visible before disappearing into the gown. The precariously covered appearance boasted a neat yet decadent beauty.
Ender McGuire swept back his black hair and smiled as if in a good mood. Harriet’s hand was held in his. Without a walking stick, he had volunteered to be a human walking stick. Harriet smiled, thinking his junior was indeed kind and caring.
“Sunbae, may I have your bottle?”
Ender spoke deeply, as if whispering a love poem. Harriet rolled his eyes to look at him. Inside the hospital, many soldiers were lined up for examinations, and they all gathered to see Ender McGuire even one more time. But Ender paid no attention to such gazes.
“Bottle?”
“The test tube for blood and urine.”
“Ah… can you take it?”
“If Sunbae allows it.”
‘I’ll get it by any means necessary’ echoed in Anschel’s ears like an auditory hallucination before disappearing.
Harriet smiled awkwardly while playing with his white hair. He didn’t know why it was needed, but since his junior was asking for it, he nodded.
Of course, the bottle belonged to the hospital and Harriet couldn’t do anything about it, but he couldn’t refuse the request of his cherished junior.
‘Look at him, smiling splendidly while talking about an absurd plan…’
Anschel almost frowned but managed to hold back. Then he gave a thumbs up to Harriet.
Harriet saw it and nodded seriously. Ender flashed his eyes at the sign between the two and stared at Anschel. It was a look that said: who are you to dare exchange signs with my sunbae?
Anschel, feeling a chill run down his spine, very carefully moved away from there. With the foreign element gone, Ender smiled brightly again and supported Harriet by holding his shoulder. Harriet rolled his eyes.
“Ender, I need to get my examination over there.”
“……”
It was an examination room opposite to Ender’s. Ender, who had firmly believed he could receive the examination with his sunbae alone, became dejected. Still, as if he couldn’t go against Harriet’s words, Ender nodded slightly.
The once confident top of his head was now bowed in dejection. Worried that he might receive another F rating in the sexual function test like this, Harriet whispered in Ender’s ear.
“Ender.”
“Yes.”
Harriet’s hand slowly grabbed the front of his own gown. Then he slowly pulled it down, disheveling the gown. Ender’s gaze turned to Harriet’s hand.
What is happening… perhaps seeing an illusion of the sunbae he misses so much? Or has he arrived in heaven?
Countless thoughts raced through his brain in 0.1 seconds. Seeing Ender freeze, unable to breathe properly, Harriet tilted his head.
Is this not right? But Anschel had said if he did this, he would not only get an S grade in the test but might even explode.
“…Get a good grade, Ender, and I’ll give you a reward.”
After delivering the line Anschel had taught him, Harriet looked at Ender again. Ender’s brows furrowed, showing tremendous concentration.
His gaze was directed at Harriet’s slightly exposed chest. More precisely, at that pink-tinged area—the only part that wasn’t white on his white body.
