Xiao Zhao quickly came over upon hearing the commotion in the room. Pushing the door open, he saw Shen Yuqing clinging to Pei Yiyan’s back, slightly hunched over with his teeth sunk into the scent gland.
Xiao Zhao felt like he was about to faint. He hurried over, exclaiming, “Young Master Pei, are you alright?”
Pei Yiyan took a deep breath, gritting his teeth as he spat out, “Get him off.”
Xiao Zhao nodded hastily. “Right away! Please don’t move I’ll handle it immediately!”
He repeated “immediately” several times, not daring to pause as he circled behind Pei Yiyan. Wrapping his arms around Shen Yuqing’s waist, he tried to pry him off Pei Yiyan’s back.
Shen Yuqing, already exhausted from earlier struggles, was now delirious and weak. Xiao Zhao soon managed to pull him away from Pei Yiyan and laid him down on the bed.
Not daring to look at Pei Yiyan’s stormy expression, Xiao Zhao restrained the restless Shen Yuqing and tentatively asked, “Young Master Pei, what’s wrong with the young master?”
Anyone could see Shen Yuqing was clearly not in his right mind.
“I don’t know,” Pei Yiyan replied, closing his eyes as if struggling to suppress his emotions.
Xiao Zhao said, “I’ll call a doctor right away—”
He didn’t want to waste time, but he was afraid Shen Yuqing might attack Pei Yiyan’s scent gland again if left alone. After some hesitation, he silently apologized to his young master in his heart, then rolled him up tightly in the blankets before rushing back to his room to call the doctor on his communicator.
When he returned to the master bedroom, Pei Yiyan was sitting in a chair, his expression still grim, while the man on the bed had quieted down.
Xiao Zhao approached Pei Yiyan. “Young Master Pei, the doctor will be here soon. Are you alright?”
Scent glands were delicate, whether for alphas or omegas. Even though Pei Yiyan’s was already damaged, it shouldn’t be touched recklessly.
Shen Yuqing, in his delirious state, clearly hadn’t held back.
Pei Yiyan replied coldly, “I’m fine.”
Xiao Zhao pressed, “When the doctor arrives, please let him examine you as well.”
Pei Yiyan gave a noncommittal hum and said nothing more.
Soon, the doctor arrived and examined Shen Yuqing again. “Strange, there doesn’t seem to be any major issue,” he mused. After a pause, he added, “Once he wakes up tomorrow, it’d be best to take him to the hospital for a full checkup.”
The doctor administered a sedative. Shen Yuqing, who had been occasionally stirring, now lay completely still.
Xiao Zhao then mentioned, “And Young Master Pei’s scent gland.”
The doctor turned to Pei Yiyan, who was still seated in the chair. After examining him with his medical kit, the doctor said, “No major problems. He didn’t bite probably just kissed or sucked on it a couple of times.”
Either way, the implications were undeniably intimate.
Pei Yiyan’s expression remained dark. He gave a terse acknowledgment, signaling he understood.
With the sedative taking effect, Shen Yuqing fell into a deep sleep again. After the doctor left, Xiao Zhao quietly straightened the disheveled bed and said, “Young Master Pei, you should rest now. The young master won’t wake up again tonight.”
Pei Yiyan tilted his chin slightly but didn’t move. Instead, he leaned his elbow on the armrest, resting his head against his palm with his eyes closed, as if meditating.
After Shen Yuqing’s antics, sleep was the last thing on his mind.
Xiao Zhao didn’t dare say more. Leaving only a quiet “Call me if you need anything,” he silently exited the bedroom.
With Xiao Zhao having turned off the lights, the room plunged back into darkness.
Pei Yiyan sat for a while before slowly opening his eyes again. Gradually, he rose to his feet and walked to the bedside, gazing at the sleeping Shen Yuqing under the dim light from outside.
Shen Yuqing lay defenseless on the bed, his slender neck exposed, the Adam’s apple strikingly prominent.
Pei Yiyan could still feel the lingering sensation and warmth on his neck and scent gland from Shen Yuqing’s earlier bite.
He reached out, his body slightly bent, his hand hovering over Shen Yuqing’s neck as if to choke him.
But he didn’t apply any force only held it there loosely. Yet a trace of ruthlessness flickered across his face.
How audacious of him.
However, he soon withdrew his hand, his expression returning to normal.
He moved to the other side of the bed, lay down, and closed his eyes to sleep again.
The next day, Shen Yuqing didn’t wake until ten o’clock.
He climbed out of bed, feeling inexplicably weak all over, as if every part of his body ached.
His mind was still foggy as he glanced around. Huh? Why did the bedroom layout seem different today? Wait—
His eyes widened abruptly as realization struck, he was sleeping on Pei Yiyan’s side of the bed!
Looking down, he confirmed it.
How had he ended up in Pei Yiyan’s spot for no reason?
Fortunately, Pei Yiyan was no longer in bed. Shen Yuqing hurriedly threw off the covers and jumped down. There was no way Pei Yiyan could find out about this.
Otherwise, both his favorability and corruption meters would surely spike again.
Standing on the floor, his body swayed slightly. He’d drunk too much last night, and his head still felt dizzy. At least it was Sunday no classes today.
Shuffling in his slippers, he headed to the bathroom. A shower refreshed him considerably. Drying his hair, he stood brushing his teeth, studying his reflection in the mirror.
Sister Linsui’s collection really packed a punch. He shouldn’t have overindulged his memories stopped at being half-carried by Wu Yi and Xiao Zhao, with no recollection of what happened afterward.
He had the nagging sense he was missing something crucial.
Pausing mid-brush, he wondered had he made a drunken scene last night?
Probably not. In his past life, friends said he just passed out when drunk, never causing trouble.
Reassured, he realized he’d gone to bed unshowered. Pei Yiyan must have been disgusted. He’d apologize later. This served as a warning no matter how good the alcohol, he couldn’t overdo it again.
After freshening up and changing into clean loungewear, he stepped out just as Xiao Zhao entered.
“Young Master, are you feeling unwell anywhere?” Xiao Zhao asked.
“Huh? No, just a bit dizzy when I woke up. Otherwise fine,” Shen Yuqing replied, noticing Xiao Zhao’s odd expression. “Why that look? Something wrong?”
Xiao Zhao pressed his lips together before speaking. “Young Master don’t you remember?”
Remember what?
Shen Yuqing was genuinely bewildered. He asked, “Did I do something I’d regret for life? Or something utterly embarrassing?”
Xiao Zhao thought carefully. Since Shen Yuqing and Pei Yiyan would become husbands in the future, last night when he bit no, when the young master kissed (sucked) Young Master Pei’s scent gland, it could be considered as intimacy between them.
It’s just that the young master had drunk too much last night, which made Young Master Pei unhappy. Normally, he wouldn’t have gotten angry.
Xiao Zhao felt his logic was flawless as he said, “Not really.”
Shen Yuqing sighed in relief. At least he hadn’t done anything heinous or humiliating. Then other matters shouldn’t be a big deal.
Just as his hanging heart was about to settle, he heard Xiao Zhao take a dramatic pause before continuing, “You just clung onto Young Master Pei refusing to let go, and kissed his scent gland a few times.”
Shen Yuqing: “……”
