How to Act in a Depraved Guideverse Novel 5-19

A strong arm wrapped tightly around his waist. The moment he realized it, Yeo Eun-jo was pulled swiftly into the elevator.

Startled, Eun-jo turned around to see Jung Tae-seok standing there, fuming with rage.

“Tae-seok?”

“What are you doing sitting out there all alone? And another thing…”

“……”

“Why the hell are you saying Heo Nan-gyeom’s name? You should be calling mine.”

Did you forget your own boyfriend’s name or something? Jung Tae-seok glared daggers at him. His stare was so intense, it felt like they’d gone right back to the very beginning. Eun-jo had to recite “Jung Tae-seok” three times like a mantra before Tae-seok finally loosened the grip around his waist.

“If you call him again, just watch what happens.”

Determined to cut off any contact, Jung Tae-seok had even confiscated Heo Nan-gyeom’s pager. He let out a deep breath, looking like he’d stormed out of training in a hurry judging by his sweat-soaked clothes.

Still visibly annoyed, he muttered under his breath.

“Fuck, should I just make you a custom necklace?”

He was seriously considering making a dog tag engraved with his name and number. That way, anyone who found Eun-jo lying around the Center like this would know exactly where to return him.

“Or maybe I should get a tattoo that says we’re Imprinted?”

“Huh?”

‘Imprinted with Jung Tae-seok.’ Wouldn’t that do the trick, Hyung? Then people might actually look me up. They’d figure it out.”

If you searched his name on any portal site, Jung Tae-seok’s profile popped up right at the top—higher even than celebrities with the same name.

Eun-jo let out a breathless laugh. The things this man said with a straight face were beyond absurd.

“If someone looks you up, they’ll just…”

“They’ll what?”

Jung Tae-seok spun Eun-jo in place and tilted his head, golden eyes locking onto his face.

“My picture would show up, right? If they see a guy this good-looking is my boyfriend, no one would dare mess around. They’d just bring you straight back to me.”

“……”

“Tell me I’m wrong.”

A sly grin tugged at the corners of his lips. The expression was so unbearably cute that Eun-jo couldn’t help but laugh softly.

Pleased to see a hint of color return to Eun-jo’s face, Jung Tae-seok draped an arm around his shoulder and guided him down the hall, past the elevator.

At the very end of the hallway was Team A’s office. Without hesitation, Tae-seok pushed the door open.

“……What is this?”

Eun-jo stared, stunned.

The entire team office had been completely transformed. In the center of the room sat a TV, a low table, and a plush sofa, all arranged like a cozy living room. A soft carpet covered the floor. The decor was so polished, it looked more like a luxury dorm than an office.

And if that wasn’t crazy enough, four massive suitcases were lined up near the entrance. A sinking feeling settled in Eun-jo’s gut.

“You’re late.”

Park Se-yul, lounging on the sofa like it was his own place, adjusted his glasses as he glanced up from his documents.

“If your checkup’s done, you should’ve come straight back. The dorm doesn’t exist anymore.”

“What do you mean, the dorm…”

“I tore it down. Got annoyed.”

Jung Tae-seok replied in a calm, matter-of-fact tone—like he was saying he grabbed a drink because he was thirsty.

Eun-jo opened and closed his mouth in disbelief, struggling for words. Before he could say anything, Tae-seok added with a shrug,

“Don’t look at me like that. It’s your fault for not coming home earlier.”

You… demolished my place over that? Still stunned, Eun-jo stared at him when another strong arm wrapped around his waist.

It was Park Se-yul. He’d put down his documents and come over, casually guiding Eun-jo over to the sofa and settling him on the edge.

Then he handed over the test results he’d been holding.

“You’ll be staying here for a while.”

“Are those my suitcases?” Eun-jo asked, pointing to the luggage stacked by the entrance. “Are those… my things?”

“Nope. They’re all of ours.”

The reply didn’t come from Park Se-yul—it came from Jin Mu-seong, who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Wearing a black apron around his waist, he set down a glass of orange juice in front of Eun-jo with practiced ease.

Dressed in a white T-shirt and black track pants, he looked like someone who’d been living here for a while now. When their eyes met, Jin Mu-seong broke into a breezy, self-satisfied grin.

“Those bastards moved into our newlywed home, baby.”

The word newlywed made Park Se-yul visibly twitch. Sharing space with these people was already testing his sanity, but now Jin Mu-seong was throwing around words like “baby” and “newlywed home”? His patience wore thin in an instant. Clutching his throbbing temple, he glared at Jin Mu-seong.

“Did you forget this is Team A’s office?”

“I bought the carpet myself, Team Leader Park.”

“And buying furniture somehow changes the property title?”

“I’m the one calling Eun-jo ‘baby.’ Why would the deed be in your name? You hit your head or something?”

As the two of them started growling at each other again, Eun-jo’s headache returned with a vengeance. His eyes darted around the room. It was already a mess—everyone’s belongings were scattered around like they’d moved in weeks ago.

“Ha…”

He pressed his hand to his forehead. Right on cue, Jung Tae-seok slipped in beside him and pressed himself flush against Eun-jo’s back. He was using his Esper ability again—Eun-jo could feel the tension in his skull slowly easing.

“Wait. Hold on… You’re all seriously planning to live here? All of you?”

The bickering cut off immediately. The office fell deathly silent. Eun-jo sighed, turning to face Jin Mu-seong.

“Shouldn’t you be in Team B’s office?”

“I can commute. And…”

Jin Mu-seong met his eyes and let the sentence trail off. It was obvious what he meant—he’d just use his ability to cheat the commute. Might as well be robbing a bank with that kind of skill. But arguing with Jin Mu-seong was pointless. He wasn’t going to listen.

Giving up, Eun-jo turned to Park Se-yul next.

“Team Leader, you’ve got more than enough work to be pulling all-nighters. Wouldn’t it be better to rest at home?”

“This is technically an office.”

“There are too many people here. Wouldn’t your personal office be more comfortable?”

All your files and things are already over there. Eun-jo offered a calm, logical argument, but Park Se-yul suddenly shot to his feet.

He marched across the room to a door at the back and flung it open. What used to be a cluttered storage room had been transformed into a sleek private office, complete with bookshelves, a desk, and a chair.

Even the whiskey cabinet was there, gleaming with polished bottles arranged in perfect order.

How did he move all this? Everything was aligned exactly as it had been in his real office—down to the millimeter. Eun-jo let out a stunned, breathless laugh. Park Se-yul, clearly expecting the reaction, spoke casually.

“Don’t worry. I moved everything.”

No, I’m worried about my safety, Eun-jo wanted to say, but couldn’t bring himself to voice it. He just bit his lip in frustration.

These people are completely insane…

As he turned his head away, Jung Tae-seok—clearly sensing it was his turn—buried his face in Eun-jo’s back like a clingy sticker. Then, speaking as if Eun-jo’s spine was a microphone, he muttered,

“Should I tear down my dorm too?”

“…Can you stop whispering stuff like that while glued to me?”

“If you glare at me, I’ll get hard again.”

“Then maybe don’t do things that make me glare?”

“You think I can stop?”

Tae-seok tilted his head up slightly, lips pushed into a dramatic pout.

“If I say this with a hard-on, you’ll just say I’m not being sincere and get even angrier.”

He mumbled it under his breath, then immediately burrowed his face back into Eun-jo’s back. This time, he started gently gnawing at him like he was testing the texture with his teeth.

In short, none of them had even the slightest intention of leaving.

Creaaak. The sound of a door opening echoed through the office.

What now?

Eun-jo turned toward the noise—and saw a flash of pure white fur.

“Lee Sang-heon…?”

It was the first time he’d seen him since the Gate incident. Word was, he’d been in the testing lab all this time. Now that it was over, Lee Sang-heon strolled in gracefully, tail swaying behind him. His soft paw pads hit the floor with quiet, sticky chup chup sounds.

His gray eyes locked onto Eun-jo, brimming with affection—just like in that dream where they’d played house together. The intensity of it made Eun-jo flinch, shoulders trembling slightly.

But instead of doing anything dramatic, Lee Sang-heon simply curled up right at Eun-jo’s feet. The warmth from where they touched seeped into him.

“Hey. Lee Sang-heon.”

“Woof.”

“You know how to talk, damn it. Lee Sang-heon.”

Lee Sang-heon looked up briefly, wagged his tail… then promptly closed his eyes.

Blatant. Utter. Disregard.

“…Bark.”

As if losing his abilities wasn’t enough, now he was being told he had to live with these lunatics? Eun-jo felt his insides twist. He let out a sigh before he could stop himself.

A large, warm hand cradled his cheek. Jin Mu-seong.

“You haven’t eaten yet, have you?”

He looked like he could melt from how cute Eun-jo was. His lips pressed tender kisses across Eun-jo’s cheek.

“Let’s get some food in you, baby.”

Without waiting for a reply, he peeled Jung Tae-seok off and swept Eun-jo up into his arms—full-on princess carry.

All three pairs of eyes locked onto him at once.

Eun-jo closed his eyes. He gave up. Thinking was pointless.

“You guys do know this is kidnapping, right?”

“Of course we do. That’s why we did it.”

Group sentences get reduced, right? Jin Mu-seong added cheerfully, grinning like he’d just cracked the perfect joke.

He pressed another kiss to Eun-jo’s cheek.

On the dining table sat a plate of omurice—the same dish Jin Mu-seong had made for him the morning after they’d had sex.

Only then did Eun-jo’s appetite finally return.
