“Do you know my name?”
“Yes, you’re Sura-nim, right?”
“Wow, yes. Gangha-nim, I look forward to working with you in the future.”
Sura greeted him with a peculiar expression as he skillfully opened the album. It seemed to take him less than three seconds to find the page with his photo and finish signing it.
Unable to hide his surprise, Hajun’s eyes widened, and Sura let out a dry chuckle. “It’s nothing special, really.” While Hajun was still bewildered by how Sura seemed to have read his mind, a staff member urged, “Please move to the next one.” He shifted over one spot to face the second member.
“Saha—”
“It’s Hajun hyung! Hello!”
Mari’s man! After Imun, he was the most familiar member—one he’d even greeted through video call before.
Is this how it feels to meet the person your little sister brought home as husband material? The moment he recalled Mari saying she’d even consider an international marriage for him, Hajun’s brows automatically furrowed. It seemed like anything this man said would sound annoying.
It was while he was scanning the man up and down without even trying to lower his raised eyebrows that Saha leaned forward with a playful smile, seemingly oblivious to Hajun’s wariness.
“Did you know I was the one who persuaded Imun hyung to play Legend of Legend?”
“Oh, really?”
In an instant, his unfavorable impression transformed into one of appreciation. If what Saha said was true, then he had essentially played the biggest role in bringing Hajun and Imun together.
“…You’re a benefactor.” As he extended the album with sincere gratitude, Saha burst into giggles.
“I watch your streams often too, hyung. Actually, I knew about you first, but you only play games with Imun hyung. Play duo with me sometime too!”
“Yes. Of course. Contact me.”
Before they could have a deeper conversation, the staff intervened again. “You promised, hyung!” Saha called out brightly as Hajun moved to the side. He made eye contact with a man who had a somewhat cold aura.
“Hello… Rai-nim.”
“Hello, Gangha-nim.”
How do they all know my name?! He reflexively glanced sideways at Imun for a few seconds, then clutched his thumping chest and straightened his head. Imun was just a few steps away. Suddenly, his hands and feet began to tremble.
“Imun has been really looking forward to meeting you, Gangha-nim.”
“Really?”
He hastily responded and then belatedly focused on Rai. A smile had now appeared on his face, revealing a warmth like that of a friendly neighborhood older brother.
Hajun realized he’d judged him unfairly simply because he was close to Imun. He politely greeted Rai, who silently returned the signed album.
“Thanks for letting me know.”
“Don’t mention it. Since you’ve come all the way to Korea, I hope you enjoy your stay.”
How much did you tell them, Seo Imun! It was astounding that every member seemed to see right through his situation. Any pretense of composure was gone as heat rushed to his head. Gripping the album tightly, he moved one more spot to the side.
“Seo I—!”
When he saw Imun smiling brightly as if he’d been waiting, his anger disappeared and his mind went completely blank. Unable to even finish saying Imun’s name, he bowed his head deeply.
All the effort he’d put into practicing his greeting for days, imagining their meeting right up until the moment before, was now in vain.
I can’t avoid looking at him now that I’m here! The moment he raised his gaze with clenched fists, Imun’s brown eyes locked directly onto his.
This wasn’t through a phone screen. Not through a hard, cold LCD display. Right before him, breathing and alive, was Imun with his most beautiful smile ever.
Kind and sociable Imun. Our well-mannered, good-at-thrusting Imun. Finally meeting his smile in person, Hajun’s heart swelled with emotion.
“Hyung, was it hard waiting?”
“H-hard? What do you mean? You don’t seem to be very photogenic. Seeing you in person… your headband is pretty.”
He abruptly changed the end of his sentence and thrust the album forward as if it were a substitute. Imun’s open laughter suggested he had completely seen through Hajun’s nervousness. “D-don’t laugh!” he snapped, fidgeting with his fingers.
“Hyung, come here.”
“W-what?”
“Come a little closer to me, please.”
Hajun eyed Imun suspiciously as he lowered his voice and beckoned, then reluctantly moved forward. As he tilted his upper body slightly with a puzzled expression, Imun suddenly stood up and whispered into his ear.
“We finally met in person.”
“Aaaah!”
Instinctively, Hajun covered his ears and leaned back. It felt like his rationality had not just left but flown beyond the universe. Imun burst into laughter with his eyes curved into crescents as he picked up the album.
Finishing the signature as quickly as Sura had, Imun called his manager. “Hyung, do you have something like paper?” “Huh? Paper?” Imun stared blankly at the memo pad the manager had torn off and handed to him, then turned as if he had no choice.
“Please sign for me too.”
“W-what?”
“You wrote ‘Gang Hajun’ for the fan before me. I want one too.”
Just as Hajun belatedly understood the meaning of the paper and sighed, Imun placed a pen in his hand. As soon as he wrote his three-character name neatly like before, Imun smiled with satisfaction and took the memo.
“Do you sign a lot usually?”
“Ah, no. The one I gave you is only the second—”
“Hyung, stop shaking your hand.”
Only after Imun’s comment did Hajun realize his hand was still trembling. He hurriedly shook his wrist, but the trembling wouldn’t easily subside.
What’s wrong with me today? He could roughly imagine how ridiculous he looked, stuttering and trembling. His plan to show only his best side seemed completely ruined.
As he closed his eyes in frustration, a warm weight settled on the back of his hand. It was Imun’s palm.
“Feeling a bit calmer now?”
“W-what, what—”
“Even though I’m great—”
“No, not at all. Not at alllll!”
He cut off Imun’s teasing and swatted his hand away. You’re deliberately messing with me! While giving Imun a resentful look as he laughed loudly, a staff member interrupted, “Please move on now!”
“Hyung, I’ll call you when this is over.”
Imun made a phone shape with his hand and waved it. Silently nodding, Hajun carefully descended the stairs one step at a time.
H-holding hands? He could still feel the sensation on the back of his hand. Standing there in a daze, he suddenly turned toward Imun.
Imun was already chatting warmly with a fan. Even from a distance, the affection overflowing from his eyes toward the fan was clearly visible.
He’s such a professional. After gazing steadily at Imun, who never diverted his attention elsewhere, Hajun left the venue without lingering.
As Imun subtly followed Hajun’s rapidly retreating figure with his eyes, Sura gently narrowed his brows, noticing his gaze.
Judging by his expression, Rai seemed to have caught the suspicious signs too. Taking advantage of the break, Sura poked Rai’s side with a pen.
“Hyung, did you see that?”
“Yeah. He really did hold his hand, right?”
“Yeah. He even whispered in his ear.”
“There’s something… peculiar about their vibe.”
“Right…? It’s not just me, right? There’s a strange scent in the air.”
“What scent? From me?” Saha sniffed his sleeve as he spoke to Sura and Rai sitting on either side of him. Sura gave a withering look at Saha, who was as clueless as ever, before turning to smile brightly at the approaching fan.
