Title: Posting about getting ridiculously fired as a purifier
Author: Anonymous
Content: I was a purifier at a major guild, but got fired right before contract renewal. The contract renewal talks were going positively, but they told me to only work until today. The world is really too harsh. Is this right?
– Wtf what’s the reason they gave?
⌙ Don’t know. I asked too but they said they found better talent or something.
– Huh isn’t that crazy? What grade are you?
⌙ I’m A-grade. For reference, my grade never dropped even once.
– Even as a fellow hunter, this doesn’t make sense. Hang in there.
– Is there talent better than A-grade? Purifiers just need to purify well. Which guild is that?
⌙ Can’t say information that would identify itã… ã… But it’s an incredibly big guild.
– Incredibly? Could it even be Nameless?
A-grade purifier Park Hyeon-jin looked at the Nameless building and let out a deep sigh. He meaningfully wrote “no comment” to the comment asking if it was Nameless, then turned off his phone.
Damn Nameless. Where’s the law that says you can fire someone like this? Of course, it was something that happened frequently to purifiers working on contract basis, but this was a major guild. If you compared it to a company, it would be a large corporation. If you matched well and had good abilities, you could work almost like a regular employee without getting fired. That’s why purifiers desperately tried to join hands with major guilds.
Park Hyeon-jin was the same. Although he couldn’t become a hunter due to lack of ability, he had exceptional talent as a purifier, so he wandered around various medium to large guilds before breaking through insane competition to pass as Nameless’s exclusive purifier a few years ago.
Moreover, since his skills were superior to several other purifiers belonging to Nameless, he mainly worked attached to core teams within Nameless.
But why are they now saying ‘you can no longer be with us’?
From what he heard through rumors, it seemed they found someone more outstanding, but that didn’t make sense to begin with. Nameless rarely went out to scout purifiers directly, unlike hunters. It was natural since capable purifiers would come find them on their own, asking to work together.
“Shit, I’ll be more successful. Just watch, Nameless.”
Of course, one might wonder how he could be more successful than working at the 1st ranked guild, but for now he felt like he needed to say such things to make his current self feel less miserable.
Park Hyeon-jin let out a deep sigh and turned around.
Thud-
At that moment, he failed to see someone coming from ahead and bumped into them.
“Ah, I’m sorry.”
Park Hyeon-jin hurriedly began picking up the items the person he bumped into had dropped.
“No, it’s okay.”
When Hyeon-jin picked up the last fallen card to hand it over, it was a familiar certificate.
<C-grade Purifier Do Ha-seong>
This person is also a purifier. And with C-grade in times like these, life must be tough. Park Hyeon-jin worried about the future of someone he’d never seen before, then realized his own nose was three feet long and became depressed again.
The man who received the certificate back went on his way. Hyeon-jin also had to go now. He needed to go chat with community people to vent and also look for jobs.
But that person is strange. Why is he going toward the Nameless building? Hyeon-jin stopped for a moment to think. Then he soon concluded that the person must have come to the wrong place and leisurely headed home.

[Wow, this building is really cool!]
“We’re not here to play around, so be quiet.”
Ha-seong glared once at the pig stuck to his shoulder. He was already troubled enough to death as it is.
Ha-seong even thought about turning around and running away right now. Why are so many troublesome things happening lately? It would have been better to fight back and forth with speechless monsters inside dungeons like in the old days. He could just beat those guys without thinking, so there was no need for complicated thoughts.
“Excuse me. How may I help you?”
At that moment, a person in a black suit slowly approached from the entrance leading to the stairs. From his attire and attitude, he appeared to be security or a guard.
“Ah, well…”
Ha-seong fell into thought for a moment. How should he explain this appropriately? If he spoke vaguely, they would obviously think Ha-seong was a suspicious person. But he couldn’t speak specifically either.
“I came for an interview.”
After thinking briefly, Ha-seong said the most plausible thing. It wasn’t technically wrong either.
“Ah. Please wait a moment.”
The guard stopped Ha-seong and gestured to a colleague who was with him. It seemed to mean to check once.
“But monsters are not allowed inside.”
The guard seemed to have just noticed the pig on Ha-seong’s shoulder. The pig, suddenly pointed out, hid its body even more in case it might get kicked out.
“This isn’t a monster, it’s just a pig.”
How many times do I have to explain this? At this rate, he thought he should name that guy ‘Just Pig’ and put a name tag around its neck.
“Ah, but still…”
If they still say no, I’ll just abandon it and go. Ha-seong felt like abandoning it anyway. Just as the pig was pitifully squealing beside him, perhaps sensing his intention…
“Are you Do Ha-seong-ssi?”
From far away, a fairly large man slowly came down the stairs and approached Ha-seong. When that man approached, the guards who were trying to separate the pig from Ha-seong stepped back.
“Yes.”
“I heard from the Guild Leader and came to escort you. Let’s go together.”
If this was going to happen anyway, they should have sent someone quickly. We almost had a pointless argument over one pig. Ha-seong slowly walked following behind the man.
“I’m Han Shin-woo. I work as the Guild Leader’s personal secretary.”
“Yes, yes.”
Ha-seong roughly nodded while following Han Shin-woo into the elevator. It wasn’t particularly interesting information.
“The Guild Leader told me Do Ha-seong-ssi would be coming today, so I should go meet you, but I got a bit late because of work.”
“Ah, it’s fine.”
Despite his face not looking like it, this personal secretary seemed to be quite a chatterbox.
“By the way, that pig you’re carrying on your shoulder…”
Ah, do I have to explain again? Ha-seong was getting sick of explaining about the pig. If situations like this kept repeating, he thought he shouldn’t bring it along anymore.
Actually, today too he tried to leave it at home to watch the house, but it said it didn’t want to be alone because it was bored and stuck to him with tremendous strength, refusing to let go, so he had no choice but to keep it on his shoulder. Why is that pig so strong for a pig?
“Ah, this is…”
“It’s really cute.”
“Yes. Cute… what?”
Ha-seong looked up at Han Shin-woo in surprise at the unexpected words. He was looking at the pig intently and making a shy smile that really didn’t suit his face.
“May I touch it?”
At Ha-seong’s tentative words, Han Shin-woo’s face brightened much more.
“May I really?”
“Yes. It would be even better if you took it with you.”
While the elevator went up to the top floor, Han Shin-woo petted the pig’s head with a very happy face. The saying that you shouldn’t judge people by their appearance alone is indeed correct. Since things turned out this way, it seemed good to build some friendship with Han Shin-woo. He might be able to give away that sticky pig if he found the right opportunity.
The elevator that had been going up for a while stopped and Ha-seong and Shin-woo got off. The pig was now in Shin-woo’s hands, and he was constantly petting the pig as if looking at a cute puppy.
“I wondered why you were so late.”
When a familiar voice was heard from ahead, Shin-woo, who had been making a happy expression, gasped in surprise and froze just like that.
“Were you having fun on the way?”
“N-no, Guild Leader.”
Han Shin-woo smiled awkwardly and returned the pig to Ha-seong. Do-hyeok, who had come out in front of the door, slowly walked toward Ha-seong. Then he alternately looked at the pig he was holding and him.
“You even brought a pet.”
“How is this a pet?”
Do-hyeok still looked at the pig with unreadable eyes, then turned his gaze to Han Shin-woo who had stiffened.
“You take care of this pet for a while.”
“What? Yes!”
While saying that, Do-hyeok stared intently at Ha-seong. As if commanding him to hand over the pig to him.
“Here.”
“Ah, yes. Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of it.”
Though he spoke solemnly as if he would faithfully carry out his assigned mission, Ha-seong clearly saw Shin-woo’s lips curling up. He seemed to be happy thinking about satisfying his personal desires when left alone. Why does it seem like there are no normal people in Nameless?
“No. Well, you don’t really need to… take good care of it.”
“Please go in first.”
Do-hyeok pointed to the Guild Leader’s office with his hand. Ha-seong entered the Guild Leader’s office without saying much.
He thought the Guild Leader’s office would have lots of things and be flashy, but it was simpler than expected. Only the items absolutely necessary for work filled the space. Is this guy less materialistic than I thought? Usually, the higher one’s position gets, the higher their nose gets too, but Cha Do-hyeok didn’t seem to be that type.
“You can sit anywhere over there.”
While he was looking around inside, Do-hyeok, who had entered at some point, pointed to the table with his chin. When Ha-seong hesitated briefly then pulled out a chair to sit, Do-hyeok immediately sat across from him.
“So, have you thought about my proposal?”
