“It’s all lies, isn’t it?”
Mitchell didn’t respond to Inbeom Yoon’s ear-piercing question. Instead, he looked down at Yoon’s rude feet entering the living room without taking off his shoes. There was clearly a sign that Geon-woo had neatly written in the entryway, yet he brought those dirty shoes into the house.
Seeing this unpleasant sight, Mitchell just wanted to kick him out immediately, regardless of any conversation.
He should have prevented him from entering the house in the first place.
Mitchell stood in front of Yoon near the front door, blocking him from further dirtying the living room. Forcibly swallowing his irritation, he glared at Yoon. Regretting that he had told him to come to the house when Yoon suddenly asked to meet, Mitchell opened his mouth.
“What are you saying is a lie?”
“Everything you said!”
Mitchell recalled what he had said to Yoon:
“The important thing is, that sponsor is very greedy. For example…”
“For example?”
“He’s after not just Geon-woo, but his older brother too. Geon-woo doesn’t know this. If he found out, wouldn’t he break up with that fancy sponsor, money or not?”
It was ridiculous that he was now trying to confirm that stupid lie. He was quite late in reacting to the nonsense Mitchell had casually thrown out.
Anyway, Mitchell was in the process of getting what he wanted while letting Yoon run wild elsewhere.
The sponsor story was like a food decoration. It doesn’t affect the taste if it’s not there, but it’s a nice visual addition when included.
One way or another, it was clear that Mitchell had been playing with Yoon.
“What did I say… That Jeff Wood is the sponsor for Geon-woo and Junman, and that Geon-woo and Jeff are tied by money?”
“Yes, that! It’s all lies, isn’t it?”
A storm was raging in Yoon’s eyes. He tried to appear calm, but it wasn’t working.
Mitchell felt both contempt and satisfaction for Yoon, who had only now realized it was a lie. It was a story that would be fine if he fell for it, and fine if he didn’t. Seeing Yoon struggling after believing it so readily, Mitchell felt his accumulated anger dissipating slightly.
“Not a sponsor? Didn’t even buy him a meal? Hmm, that’s a bit serious.”
Mitchell watched Yoon’s face turning red as he made a playful joke. He couldn’t help but laugh at the color of Yoon’s face, which clearly showed he felt duped.
“You, you bastard!”
As Yoon, unable to contain his anger, shouted, spit flew everywhere. Mitchell leaned back and stared at the furious Yoon with a disgusted expression.

Mitchell looked amused at Yoon’s outburst.
“The truth. That you’re spreading rumors about Junman hyung and Geon-woo having a sponsor. That you’re treating them like trash by mentioning a non-existent sponsor for both of them.”
Seeing Mitchell unmoved, Yoon strained his voice. But Mitchell didn’t care.
“What do you think Geon-woo will say when he hears that?”
“……”
Yoon was momentarily at a loss for words. He wanted to shout angrily, but he couldn’t answer this particular question. It was obvious how Geon-woo would react.
“Even you think Geon-woo won’t have much of a reaction, right? Geon-woo isn’t someone who would reject me over a few jokes. Because he’s Geon-woo. Even if I beat and stomped you to near death, Geon-woo probably wouldn’t care, right?”
Geon-woo had accepted even the trash-like Bae Junman. It wouldn’t be any different if Mitchell was a similar person. Yoon could easily guess that no matter what Mitchell did, Geon-woo’s feelings wouldn’t change.
Nevertheless, Yoon had more cards to play. First of all, Mitchell and he had different social standings. Considering how many eyes were watching Mitchell, there were countless things to blackmail him with.
“…I’ll expose your relationship with Geon-woo to everyone.”
“Our relationship?”
“Geon-woo likes you. I’ll tell everyone that you’re living with a man who likes you! I’ll make your noble image crash as the price for running your mouth…”
“Geon-woo doesn’t like me.”
Mitchell’s voice, which had been light-hearted until now, sank for the first time. Mitchell stared at Yoon with an expressionless face and continued.
“He’s just obsessed. Can’t someone who claims to know Geon-woo well distinguish even that?”
“……”
“Am I wrong?”
Yoon couldn’t deny it. Geon-woo obsesses over his obsessions. It’s an unchanging truth regardless of who the object is. They both knew that emotions weren’t necessarily needed behind that.
“…Anyway, whether I post it online or make it into an article, I’ll spread your story everywhere. I don’t know what weakness Geon-woo has on you, but won’t people see you both as insane? If this goes well, you might be treated as a mental patient like Geon-woo. The great Mitchell Cronenwirth! You, the oh-so-great one!”
Yoon shouted until the veins in his neck stood out. It was because of Mitchell’s sudden chilling atmosphere. For some unknown reason, not wanting to lose to him, Yoon acted out and caused a commotion.
He also guessed that Mitchell and Geon-woo’s relationship wasn’t smooth. Geon-woo’s mental world is crazy. To match him, one would have to be similar to Geon-woo, but who could be? Yoon didn’t immediately understand what Mitchell meant. As he was about to demand what nonsense Mitchell was talking about while glaring at him, Mitchell continued.
“You’re the one who did that to Geon-woo in Korea.”
Yoon unconsciously swallowed dry saliva. His hands lost strength and his legs even wobbled.
He had personally handled everything that happened in Korea. Although it cost quite a bit of money, he thought he had thoroughly finished it without leaving any traces.
But now, hearing this from Mitchell’s mouth, not even from Geon-woo himself, it felt like his soul was leaving his body. His pounding heart shrank as if drained of moisture.
