That video uploaded on June 12 claiming it would show a ghost—
The so-called ‘Exorcism Video’.
We all thought it was viral marketing for a horror movie or game, but to this day, there’s still no talk of it being a promotion.
The video link—nonexistent domain. Turns out it was a domain that had genuinely never even existed in the first place.
What’s really terrifying is that no captures, recordings, or audio files from back then remain at all. Whenever you try to play them, you just get an error message.
IP tracking led to the middle of a mountain… reporters from overseas even tried to investigate and failed.
Calling it a hoax doesn’t make sense either, considering people across the entire country experienced hallucination-like symptoms simultaneously.
Honestly, up until the point where the two men were fighting something invisible and began bleeding, everyone was laughing and calm. Some people felt a little nauseous, but it was fine. We all thought it was just viral marketing.
But after that thing—whether it was a ghost, a monster, or a Yokai—appeared… lol… a lot of people watching the livestream either pissed themselves or threw up on the spot. Emergency rooms were chaotic in the middle of the night…
I watch a lot of gore and creature stuff since I like that genre, but it felt completely different from the grotesque creatures you see in gore movies. The moment you saw it, it was just… why is something that doesn’t belong to this world here? That kind of feeling. Extremely uncanny and deeply unpleasant. Objectively speaking, it wasn’t even that grotesque-looking. Yeah.
(From here on, text-trigger warning) If I had to describe its appearance: short legs with no ankles, pale, rod-like arms severed at the wrists. Its face was long and massive, stretching from the ceiling to the floor of the room, with a thick, elongated red tongue drooping down. The tongue seemed longer than its entire body. Where its eyes should’ve been, there were two swollen boils, and in the center of its face sat an oddly small, peach-colored nose shaped like a human’s. Its teeth, aside from their size, also looked disturbingly human, which made it even more unsettling… Later, the creature stared directly into the camera, and we locked eyes—that was truly terrifying…
But if you think about it, it wasn’t actually that grotesque compared to creatures in typical creature features, right? That’s what made it even stranger.
For reference, a haunted house exploration club member recently tracked down the abandoned house used as the background in the video—it’s somewhere in Jeonbuk. The broken lights and bloodstains had been completely cleaned up, and there were no traces of the two men. It’s the same club that celebrity Lee Seokjin talks about.
Anyway, the video remains a mystery to this day… I keep wondering whether it really was viral marketing that got too big to control, or if it was just some attention-seeking lunatic.
But if you asked me to watch it again, I couldn’t.
It felt like seeing something that doesn’t belong in this world, and even now, just thinking about it gives me chills. In my opinion, nothing this year beats that in terms of fear.
This year’s market crash…? That Black Friday incident? Sure, those were scary, but compared to the Exorcism Video, they were nothing… lol… ]
