# Chapter 15
“It’s cramped.”
Domin looked around Jeongyun’s Guiding room and clicked his tongue softly, muttering. Even though he didn’t want to compare, what Domin was familiar with was Ju Saeon’s Guiding room.
They said that Guiding rooms differed according to rank, but it was more serious than he expected. What could anyone do in such a tiny room?
‘At least it’s clean.’
Domin’s eyes lightly scanned the spotlessly clean and neatly arranged table, where he discovered a list filled with rows of Guiding appointments.
Using telekinesis, Domin gently lifted the list and read the personal information of the people written on it with interest.
It seemed that what they said was true – C-ranked Guides without team assignments were assigned Espers regardless of matching rate. Just counting roughly, there were over 30 names. Could anyone even handle this many in one day?
“Isn’t it tiring to do this every day?”
“What? What do you… Oh!”
Jeongyun, who had just turned to look at Domin, quickly rushed over and grabbed the list floating in the air. Domin frowned at having the list he was reading taken away.
Jeongyun hunched his shoulders and said in a trembling voice:
“It’s personal information, so I can’t show it to you.”
He wasn’t suspecting Domin would maliciously use other Espers’ personal information, but he had to follow the manual. Still, Jeongyun watched Domin’s indifferent face, wondering if he might have been offended.
“Well, if that’s the case.”
Domin shrugged lightly and backed down willingly. He wasn’t particularly curious about it anyway; he was just looking for something to kill time because he was bored.
Jeongyun’s Guiding room, which didn’t even have a sofa, had only two chairs. Domin, contemplating which of the two worn-out chairs would be better, pulled over the one with relatively intact legs and sat down. Jeongyun carefully sat down too, taking the chair that Domin hadn’t chosen.
Seeing Jeongyun sitting stiffly with his body rigid from tension as if he was at a job interview, Domin raised his hand to lightly press his mouth, which was about to burst into laughter. He needed to discuss important matters now and couldn’t make the atmosphere too light.
Suppressing his laughter with a fake cough, Domin changed his expression to a serious one and made eye contact with Jeongyun, who had been nervous the whole time.
“Are you nervous?”
“Yes, no… actually, a little.”
Jeongyun answered honestly. Just sitting face to face with Domin seemed unreal, like a dream, and now he was about to become his dedicated Guide. Who could easily believe in the miracle of something he had wished for so long finally coming true?
While trying to steady his shaking breath with a hand on his chest, someone knocked on the door.
Thinking it might be an Esper whose turn had come after lunch, Jeongyun was about to stand up from his chair when Domin gestured for him to stay seated and flicked his finger toward the door.
The firmly closed door opened smoothly by itself, and Junyoung entered. Junyoung, who was about to go straight to Domin, noticed Jeongyun sitting opposite him and nodded lightly. Jeongyun, who had been awkwardly standing, greeted him while sitting back down.
“I brought the documents.”
Junyoung handed over the papers he had been carrying to Domin.
Receiving the stack of papers, which looked quite substantial even at a glance, Domin didn’t say a word of thanks to Junyoung. Junyoung showed no sign of feeling hurt and simply handed over the documents before opening the door and going outside.
“This is Guide Yeo Jeongyun’s first partner contract, right?”
“Ah, yes.”
“There’s really a lot to prepare, and since Guide Yeo Jeongyun is a beginner who probably doesn’t know anything, I prepared everything.”
“Th-thank you.”
Domin, who had been flipping through the papers one by one, pulled out a few sheets and passed them to Jeongyun. Jeongyun carefully read the document labeled “Dedicated Partner Contract” and checked the official headquarters seal at the end.
Jeongyun touched the empty signature space next to the headquarters seal with his fingertip. The fact that he would become Domin’s dedicated Guide completely just by signing here suddenly made him nervous.
“Why, suddenly don’t want to sign?”
“N-no, that’s not it.”
“That’s good then.”
As soon as Domin finished speaking, a pen flew over and gently landed on Jeongyun’s thigh. Jeongyun picked up the pen with trembling hands.
Since he had already prepared himself mentally before coming, it didn’t take long to decide to sign. Jeongyun took a deep breath and scribbled his signature on the document.
‘It really happened.’
Now he was officially Domin’s dedicated Guide.
Jeongyun, who was barely calming his excited heart, couldn’t take his eyes off the document for a long time even after putting down the pen. It still felt like a dream, and he wanted to pinch his cheek to check, but he held back since Domin was watching.
“Let’s do one more thing.”
Domin, who had approached without Jeongyun noticing, took the signed document and handed over a new one.
Jeongyun calmed his excited heart for a moment and picked up the pen again, but this time, there was no headquarters seal anywhere on the contract.
<Secret Contract>
Party A: Choi Domin, Party B: Yeo Jeongyun
- ‘Party B’ must come running to provide Guiding whenever ‘Party A’ wants.
- ‘Party B’ cannot limit the intensity of Guiding.
- ‘Party B’ cannot contact ‘Party A’ personally.
- ‘Party B’ must refrain as much as possible from providing Guiding to Espers other than ‘Party A’.
- ‘Party B’ cannot interfere with ‘Party A’s private life.
- The contents of this secret contract are strictly prohibited from being disclosed.
- ‘Party B’ has no right of refusal regarding all of these terms.
- If violated, the imprint will be immediately removed, and ‘Party B’ must compensate for all damages that ‘Party A’ has to bear tenfold.
Party A: Choi Domin (seal)
Party B: Yeo Jeongyun (seal)
“It’s not an official contract, just things we need to keep to maintain a smooth partnership.”
Seeing Jeongyun’s expression becoming serious, Domin added. Hearing that it wasn’t an official contract, Jeongyun hesitated with the pen in his hand.
Seeing this, Domin pointed to the contract with a nod of his chin and said:
“What are you doing? Sign quickly.”
“But, this is…”
Jeongyun couldn’t continue his words and tightened his grip on the contract. Seeing the paper getting crumpled messily, Domin reached out and patted Jeongyun’s arm.
“Why, don’t want to sign?”
Domin asked with a bright smile. Jeongyun almost lost himself in that smile that clouded his reason, but quickly came back to his senses.
Wondering if he could speak honestly, Jeongyun looked at Domin’s smiling face and finally opened his reluctant lips.
“Under no circumstances can a Guide give the Guiding decision rights to an Esper…”
“That’s for normal situations, but we’re a bit different.”
Domin shrugged lightly and began unbuttoning his shirt one by one.
Surprised, Jeongyun tried to lower his head, but Domin quickly removed his shirt and tapped the deeply engraved imprint on his left chest with his index finger.
“I’m a victim of one-way imprinting, right?”
At the words “victim of one-way imprinting,” the blood drained from Jeongyun’s face, which had been bright red as if about to burst. Domin had thought about scaring him a bit more, but there was no need. Jeongyun’s wavering eyes were already fixed on the imprint, unable to look away.
Domin deliberately approached Jeongyun closely and grabbed the hands neatly placed on his knees. Jeongyun, startled, tried to shake off Domin’s hand, but he couldn’t overcome Domin’s strength as he gripped his wrist more firmly.
Jeongyun’s hand touched the imprint on Domin’s left chest. Along with the thumping heartbeat, he could feel deeply connected to Domin through that spot.
“After making me into an idiot who can’t live without you, you can’t even do this much?”
“I, I…”
“You know, I can’t live without you now.”
Jeongyun’s heart wavered at Domin’s gently smiling eyes.
Under no circumstances should the Guiding decision rights be given to an Esper. That was the manual set by headquarters and the safety line that maintained the balance of the relationship.
The answer was already decided, but once again his lips wouldn’t obey. They remained tightly closed, not uttering the words of refusal.Â
Jeongyun chewed and rechewed the words of refusal that circled only in his mouth as he removed his hand from the imprint.
“Didn’t you say you became a Guide because of me?”
“…Yes.”
“Would a C-ranked Guide like you ever get another chance to guide me if not for this opportunity? It’s a good chance. If you become my Guide, it means I’ll only receive Guiding from you.”
“But…”
“I need you, Guide Yeo Jeongyun.”
Jeongyun’s eyes showed great turmoil at Domin’s sweet whisper. Domin, who had knelt down on one knee, placed his hand on Jeongyun’s neatly arranged legs.
The large hand rubbed his knee and then stroked up his thigh. Jeongyun flinched instinctively. Just from the touch of a hand, his body was heating up.
“Now, you’ll sign, right?”
Domin placed the pen in Jeongyun’s hand and put the crumpled “Secret Contract” on his thigh. Lowering his head to avoid Domin’s gaze urging him to sign quickly, Jeongyun looked at the messily crumpled “Secret Contract.”
‘I need you, Guide Yeo Jeongyun.’
Domin’s voice saying he needed him kept circling in his head.
Jeongyun collected himself and ended his deliberation. He needed to think rationally, but he kept feeling greedy. The desire not to miss this opportunity finally cut through his ongoing deliberation like a knife.
“I’ll sign.”
Jeongyun finally brought the pen tip to the signature line.
Domin held his breath and watched as the sharp pen tip touched the paper. Although the signature turned out comically shaky because of his trembling hand, it was still recognizable.
Domin, who had been waiting for Jeongyun to finish signing, quickly took the “Secret Contract” with his telekinesis as soon as the wavering pen tip moved away from the paper.
When Jeongyun raised his lowered head, Domin, who had been happily looking at the secret contract, said with a bright smile:
“I’m counting on you, Guide Yeo Jeongyun.”
