Chapter 19
[General] Sinu: ?
[General] SaltySalt: Sinu hyung, you look good in this lighting
[General] Goyounghee: ? Your face is so washed out that we can’t even see it though;
[General] SaltySalt: Exactly ㅋㅅㅋ
Singsing’s headlights flashed annoyingly.
[General] Sinu: ㅋㅋ? What are you doing, Capitalism-nim
[General] Capitalism: If you have any good info, let me know in advance ㅋㅋ
[General] Capitalism: Let’s share the wealth, what’s with the Ashen Palace?
[General] SaltySalt: ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋah
[General] Shotgun: Username doesn’t match personality at all ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
[General] Capitalism: And why did you buy so many fishing nets? Is there something with the nets too?
The guild members burst into laughter again at Capitalism’s audacious demands for information. Shin Wooseok was now just bewildered.
[General] Sinu: ㅋㅋ Have all of you gone c1razy
[General] Sinu: Why are you doing pointless things I never asked for
He was already ignoring the flood of whispers asking why he had uploaded the Ashen Palace guide as soon as he logged in. There had been so many such people for days that it was too bothersome to block them all individually, and now this…
[General] Capitalism: ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
[General] Capitalism: You have such a brilliant track record
[General] Goyounghee: That’s true ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
[General] Shotgun: For real ㅋㅋ
[General] Capitalism: Anyway, I’ll take it that there’s nothing this time ㅃㅃ
Even after Capitalism left at the speed of light, the guild members were busy discussing Sinu’s “brilliant track record.”
[General] Parody: Honestly, if I were you, I’d waste time doing random stuff too ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
[General] BoatToBottle: The last “Big Picture” incident was really huge after all…
The “Big Picture incident” that the Grace guild members were referring to was when Sinu’s party achieved the First Clear of a new dungeon that SOG had ambitiously introduced as a surprise update in winter three years ago.
[General] Shotgun: The bridge buildup back then was seriously insane for real ㅋㅋㅋ
It all started when they were running the existing dungeon called “Bridge of Agony.”
“Bridge of Agony,” also known as “Agony Bridge,” was one of the top-tier dungeons at the time and was considered extremely brutal among users. This was because the management team never fixed the chronic errors that had appeared since the dungeon update.
It was so bad that the dungeon was called one where life and death were determined by luck, even for skilled players. No matter how many times they submitted inquiries to fix the errors, all they received were automated responses. At the time, Sinu, who regularly ran the dungeon, submitted inquiries every day and received the same answers every day until he realized:
These bastards won’t listen if I ask nicely.
Enraged, Sinu mobilized his guild members repeatedly and produced 10 “Bridge of Agony” dungeon clear videos over about 10 weeks. He prominently edited each video to highlight how various errors appeared at unpredictable timings and posted them on MiTube.
The edited video was titled “<Story of Errors> Bridge of Errors Clear Video (10 Sessions).”
The meticulously produced videos spread across various communities, and scenes of guild members suddenly dying due to ridiculous errors were turned into GIFs by someone and spread as memes.
Thus, Sinu’s videos achieved the remarkable feat of giving the SOG management team the disgraceful nickname <SogOo> and gifting users with a notice titled <Announcement Regarding the Error Fixes for the ‘Bridge of Agony’ Dungeon>.
Moreover, that video is still legendary to this day and proudly ranks in the TOP3 most viewed on Sinu’s MiTube channel.
But if all the errors had been fixed that way, the nickname <SogOo> wouldn’t have remained until now. The management team fixed the chronic errors but presented new ones as gifts, and users were up in arms again.
However, Sinu, who had been angry enough to create and spread videos, was somehow quiet. Everyone thought he would fire another shotgun blast and bring down the hammer on the management team again, but it didn’t happen.
Everyone just thought so… until Sinu released a video clearing the newly updated dungeon that winter by exploiting the errors he had learned from “Bridge of Agony” and the unique errors of his own class.
At the time, there was a rumor that the management team was deliberately not fixing the errors to delay the clearing of the new dungeon, but when Sinu cleared it by blatantly exploiting those very errors, chaos ensued.
“The error-ridden trash game got completely owned by Sinu, huh? Lol ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ”
“The man who even leads errors”
“Must have cleared it with gritted teeth ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ”
“Recycling the Agony Bridge errors was really a masterful move; a calculated move to give Grace the FC;”
“Errors only make Sinu stronger”
“Even the errors are stacked ㅅㅂㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Using Dark Shadow and Blood Shadow where HP doesn’t charge immediately but comes in a rush later during the Sentence pattern ㅋㅋㅋㅋ”
“Blood Shadow… to think the day would come when this skill, which everyone abandoned as absolute garbage, would shine like this. The errors have become magnificent”
“Did he overcome the random potion-not-working error during Sentence with Blood Shadow?”
“Wow, that’s right. When Sentence deals damage proportional to max HP, it overlaps with the Blood Shadow error where max HP is halved ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ This guy is c1razy”
“But for real, only Sinu could do this ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ You’d immediately die if even one hit grazes you after using Blood Shadow… He’s got some serious nerves”
Afterward, the management team hurriedly released an announcement.
It was a pathetic notice stating that the boss’s special pattern temporarily sealing potion use was not an error but intentional design, but they would modify this design to slightly lower the dungeon’s difficulty in response to user feedback.
Additionally, at the end of the notice, there was content about fixing the “Bridge of Agony” errors as well.
The fact that another notice titled <‘Dark Shadow’ Class – ‘Blood Shadow’ Skill Error Fix> (read as nerf) was posted right after was another source of amusement.
[General] SaltySalt: Back then, there was a huge increase in public parties wanting to practice for the new dungeon before they fixed the Agony Bridge errors ㅇㅅㅇ
[General] Goyounghee: The increase in Ashen Palace public parties now is exactly the same ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
[General] Sinu: Back then, those management bastards were riling me up with their bullshit
[General] Sinu: That’s why I did it
[General] Goyounghee: ? Aren’t they still bullshitting?
[General] Sinu: ㅋㅋ That’s true, but at least these days they pretend to listen
[General] BoatToBottle: ㄷㄷ Seems like your personality got reformed in the military
This was how every conversation went. Shin Wooseok gave up responding any further. Why bother explaining with his own fingers when they would hear whatever they wanted to hear no matter what he said? Since he was planning to cut down on cursing anyway, it was better to refrain from speaking.
[General] SaltySalt: But for real, there’s nothing like that this time ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
None of the guild members believed SaltySalt’s words. Shin Wooseok, who had no will to explain, prepared to leave the Central City regardless.
[General] Youngglory: That’s right^^
[General] SaltySalt: Whoa, when did you get here?
[General] Youngglory: Just now^^
[General] Goyounghee: Agreeing without even knowing what we’re talking about ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
[General] Youngglory: I can tell exactly what’s going on. Aren’t you talking about Ashen Palace?
[General] Parody: ㄷㄷ Guild Master seems to have some supernatural powers;;
[General] Youngglory: Girmu-nim was practicing hard in the early morning^^
[General] Sinu: ?
[General] Sinu: In the early morning?
[General] Youngglory: Yes, he’s been staying up late these days?
This was news to Shin Wooseok. He thought Girmu seemed busy going here and there in the evenings, but was he practicing in the early morning?
[General] SaltySalt: Yeah, I saw it too ㅇㅅㅇ His location was Ashen Palace
SaltySalt too? Shin Wooseok was a bit surprised but quickly returned to his expressionless face. But when did these people add him as a friend?
‘Seriously…’
Shin Wooseok’s gaze turned to the VoiceCode screen with Girmu, who was still not responding. Read and ignored. It should be considered nothing important, but why did it bother him?
[General] Sinu: Okay for now
But right now, there were more pressing matters to attend to. As Sinu checked the invisible cloak in his inventory one more time and was about to leave the Central City, SaltySalt followed behind him.
[General] Sinu: ?
[General] SaltySalt: ㅇㅅㅇ?
[General] Sinu: ㅋㅋ What are you doing?
[General] SaltySalt: Stalking Sinu hyung who’s trying to stalk Girmu-nim?
SaltySalt, who boldly declared their intention to stalk, seemed to need a few more days on the wanted list. Just as Shin Wooseok was about to request that Youngglory put out a bounty, he paused at SaltySalt’s next words.
[General] SaltySalt: You haven’t been hanging out with Girmu-nim much lately ㅇㅅㅇ?
[General] SaltySalt: In my opinion, Girmu-nim probably figured out you uploaded the Ashen Palace video and is avoiding you because he feels burdened! ㅋㅅㅋ
Shin Wooseok was dumbfounded. Before, SaltySalt had mistakenly thought Girmu was one-sidedly following Sinu around, but now it seemed to be the opposite.
[General] Goyounghee: What? Was what SaltySalt said true?
[Guild] France: Sinu-nim, for real??? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
At that moment, the guild members who had been chattering amongst themselves about whether there was really something in Ashen Palace began flooding the chat. Not only that, but the World Megaphone also became noisy almost simultaneously.
[World] 【Terrorist】ekfal: Hey guys, the truth about Ashen Palace is out ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Go to the free board
[World] 【Desert Rainbow】Gochujang: ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I’ve been grinding Ashen Palace for days ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ This is ridiculous
Sensing something ominous, Shin Wooseok switched windows at a speed faster than light to check the free board on the SOG homepage. The problematic post was ranked #1 in “Hottest Posts Right Now,” and after checking it, Shin Wooseok—
[General] Sinu: What the f1uck is this now
He fired off profanities, making his earlier resolution to cut down on cursing seem laughable.
