Earth Hero’s Retirement Project 73

Tackle From Behind! (9)

Cha Eui-sung had fairly low expectations of Moon Tae-young as a romantic partner. He was the kind of person who fit easily into a relationship, but sometimes he came off like a monk.

At moments when he should be diving in, he’d suddenly turn into some wise sage and start fussing over things. Or he’d dryly shut down a harmless joke.

Every time that punk of a kid acted like he’d lived through it all, it was half amusing and half frustrating—When the hell are we going to actually try anything? he’d think with a sigh.

But then, out of nowhere, this same guy tilted his chin and told him to come over in the middle of the damn night.

“It’s too late, you know. You’ve got work tomorrow.”

“Since when did you ever care about that kind of thing?”

“Mm… fair enough, you got me there.”

Cha Eui-sung lit up at the unexpected invitation. The flicker of excitement brought color back to his face. When Moon Tae-young’s hand slipped down past his elbow, he instinctively reached out and cupped the back of his hand. Surprised, Eui-sung glanced at him, but followed without resistance as he was gently led through the front gate.

“Did you eat dinner?”

It was nearly 11 PM—not exactly the best time for that question. Normally, Eui-sung would’ve poked fun at him for it, but this time, he just shook his head without a word of protest.

The whole situation felt surreal. He had just been here the day before, yet it felt like he’d been banished and only now allowed back after several days.

Like a habit, he took his usual seat and wrapped a blanket around himself. The soft scent of fabric softener clung to it, fluffy and warm.

Before long, a pleasant aroma began to fill the apartment as something bubbled gently on the stove.

Tomato?

Was it stew? Or maybe he was making a sauce? He spaced out, watching Moon Tae-young’s back, and then the man suddenly turned around, as if sensing his stare.

“…Are you feeling a bit off?”

What a random question. Cha Eui-sung glanced at his own drooping shoulders and gave a shrug.

Hard to say. He was just tired, not in pain or anything. Being an S-rank was great. If this had happened before he Reawakened, he probably would’ve been half-dead by now.

“I’m fine. Honestly, I’m not even hungry.”

Moon Tae-young turned off the gas stove and strode over, lowering himself to touch Eui-sung’s forehead.

His hand felt oddly lukewarm against Eui-sung’s skin.

“…You’ve got a fever.”

“Huh? Me?”

“Yeah. You.”

That was strange. He didn’t feel sick. Could it have been those messages in the empty lot? Maybe he really shouldn’t have looked at them.

That stingy bastard of a System had even pulled up a prompt to ask if he was okay, acting all concerned.

“Do you want to lie down for a bit?”

“Nah, it’s just…”

He was about to insist he was fine but stopped himself. If he looked sick, then maybe he wouldn’t get kicked out in the middle of the night.

He removed the hand from his forehead and fiddled with it absentmindedly. When he looked up at Moon Tae-young, there was a faint trace of concern in his eyes.

Eui-sung gently pulled that warm hand toward him and buried his face in it. Just the fact that Moon Tae-young didn’t jerk his arm away was enough to silence the gnawing dread that had been tormenting him all day.

He smelled like soap. Had he come back from a dungeon? What did he do in there that made him scrub his hands like this, every time? Or was it all just Eui-sung’s imagination?

He inhaled slowly, letting the thoughts drift, when Moon Tae-young cupped his cheeks and stroked them gently. The frown lines between his brows softened under the soothing pressure of his fingers.

When Eui-sung lifted the corners of his mouth into a faint smile, Moon Tae-young sat across from him and touched his face again. Eui-sung let out a low, contented sigh and leaned into his arms.

He might be the Hero of all people, but something about touching Moon Tae-young always calmed him. Especially now—worn out and finally at ease—he didn’t have it in him to fight the feeling.

The fact that Moon Tae-young wasn’t avoiding him but instead reaching out without hesitation… it felt like undeniable proof that nothing had changed between them.

Eui-sung scooted closer and wrapped his arms tightly around that broad chest. A strange, overflowing warmth swelled in his heart.

At this rate, even if the Savior Gauge didn’t rise, he felt like he could do anything with him. Using the Demon King bastard like this felt kind of nice. It helped him sleep, too.

Is this why people carve out time in their busy lives just to be with someone?

He sneaked a glance upward and saw that face, glasses and all, was slightly stiff. Fortunately, it didn’t seem like rejection—more like he was tense from holding back.

“Urgh.”

“Haha…”

When Cha Eui-sung bit down on his collarbone, Moon Tae-young flinched, startled. As Eui-sung licked the spot and kissed it, the man’s half-lidded eyes began to cloud with desire.

It was like watching his reason slip away in real-time. Those dark eyes stared straight ahead, completely entranced.

As he waited, grinning expectantly, sure enough—Moon Tae-young tilted Cha Eui-sung’s chin up with the same hand that had been playing with his hair and began to kiss every part of his face.

Each time that ticklish breath grazed his skin, Eui-sung’s eyebrows twitched as he inhaled slowly.

Damn. This felt good. Even the arrogant way his hand cradled his jaw had Eui-sung’s heart pounding.

And the moment their lips touched, Eui-sung moved his tongue the way he’d been taught, sweeping across the slick interior of Tae-young’s mouth. His limp body strained upward as he climbed onto his lap, almost begging.

Large hands wrapped around his back, slipping beneath his clothes like praise.

“Hoo…”

He’d learned through countless kisses that Moon Tae-young had a bit of a twisted streak. The more Eui-sung panted and struggled, the more visibly excited Tae-young became.

It made sense if you thought of him as the Demon King, but compared to his usual indifferent demeanor, it was still unexpected. Once he crossed a line, his eyes would glaze over and he’d just keep going.

“You sure you’re okay?”

At least he still had the decency to ask.

Cha Eui-sung let out a quiet laugh and took off Tae-young’s glasses.

“I swear, you’re the only person on earth who treats me like I’m made of glass.”

He tossed the bug-eyed glasses aside, revealing a face that was surprisingly well-proportioned beneath the sharp bridge of his nose.

The faintly reflected original form of that face struck a fire deep in his gut.

Well-shaped, straight brows. Big, long eyes. That elegant gaze…

It was hard to study any one feature of his face unless you were really paying attention.

But when he narrowed his eyes again, that once-ordinary face looked anything but.

Those red lips curled into an overly seductive smile, making his head swim.

The veins rising over his smooth forehead—was it really possible for something so subtle to look this obscene?

Cha Eui-sung pressed his hot body against him and kissed him over and over. Each time he pushed against that firm chest, he couldn’t help but let out a breathy laugh.

Ever since unlocking his new skill, his senses had become razor-sharp. He could now feel every little contour, like excavating a fossil with his bare hands.

“Haa…”

When he pressed down on his thigh, Moon Tae-young exhaled a low moan.

Eui-sung reached down with one hand and brushed over his growing hardness, slowly stroking it through his pants.

Even through the training shorts, the bulge was already massive. As he teased the shape with his fingertips, a slick tongue forced its way into his mouth, sweeping and tangling in a heated mess.

“Huh… mmn…”

Come to think of it, this was like exposing the Demon King’s weak spot and gripping it tight.

And yet, there wasn’t even a hint of resistance or wariness from him.

He had no idea. All he knew was that he liked what was happening.

That alone gave Cha Eui-sung a powerful thrill.

“Honestly, haa… I was too embarrassed to say it.”

He barely managed to speak, but Tae-young couldn’t wait—he immediately leaned in to bite his neck.

Eui-sung didn’t stop him. He just shuddered, draped over him, eyes half-lidded.

“But I… hoo… I don’t really know what I’m doing after this. I tried to study a bit, but…”

When he pressed firmly against the tip, still separated by fabric, Moon Tae-young’s jaw clenched. He let out a stifled groan, then licked and bit at Eui-sung’s pale neck.

He bit just hard enough to avoid breaking the skin, then rubbed his lips over the sensitive area as it twitched—sending an eerie jolt down Eui-sung’s spine.

Only after satisfying himself for a long moment did he finally draw in a breath full of skin’s scent and speak again.

“…Won’t today be too much?”

His voice sounded more strained than Eui-sung’s.

When Eui-sung frowned, Moon Tae-young cradled the back of his head and pulled him forward until their foreheads met.

Even though his body was clearly aroused, the heat radiating from him wasn’t intense—it felt lukewarm.

Every blink brought a pulse of heat to Eui-sung’s eyes.

And only when he saw awareness gradually return to Tae-young’s gaze did he realize—this warmth surging through him wasn’t just a light fever.

This damn body again.

Seriously, it always picked the worst moments to malfunction. There wasn’t a single thing wrong with him—nothing hurt at all.

He wanted to grab Tae-young and shake him, shout that he was fine—perfectly fucking fine.

But judging from the mood, it wasn’t like he’d believe it anyway.

Besides, he’d kind of built this image of himself lately, trying to lower those boundaries—and to top it off, he’d actually been sick not long ago, so his credibility was shot.

Come to think of it, was that the Outer God’s doing too?

That bastard—its talent for getting in the way was goddamn flawless.

Frustrated, he squeezed his hand around Tae-young’s shaft. Tae-young let out a faint moan.

When he tried to gently move Eui-sung’s hand away like he was soothing a sulky child, Eui-sung smacked his hand with a loud slap, and Tae-young backed off without protest.

That just threw him into turmoil again. He’d clearly steeled himself—and now he was wavering all over again.

Cha Eui-sung didn’t miss the chance. He pressed down on the head of his erection with his thumb.

A low, throaty groan escaped, like someone scratching at their throat.

And just like that, Tae-young was kissing him again.

He kissed him for a long time, biting and sucking at his lips, then narrowed his eyes and warned him softly—

“Then tonight, just stay still.”

The whisper sent every hair on Eui-sung’s body standing on end.

He nodded, and Tae-young slowly reached for his belt buckle.

Click. Ziiip—

Just hearing the sound of the zipper coming down was enough to make Eui-sung, already half-hard, swell up instantly.
