Although they were moving, Jiang Yu’s house was fully furnished. There were not many things the two needed to take with them. Once they finished packing, the living room filled with boxes most of them left by Jiang Yu previously. When the movers loaded everything onto the truck, Ren Bai parked in front of the building and waved them over.
Just by hearing the community name Yufeng Jingyuan, Ren Bai already knew where to go. This is a top villa compound in the capital. Truly Jiang Yu had money. But Ren Bai didn’t go straight there instead, he detoured to pick up Lin Shuang. He called her on the way and arranged a meeting spot. Soon, he saw Lin Shuang leave her community. She had clearly remembered Yu Shiqing’s request: she only carried a single bag, hadn’t changed clothes, and looked nervously around as she walked. Once Ren Bai appeared, she exhaled and hurried across the street.
Ren Bai stood by the car. He was only Yu Shiqing’s manager no one recognized him, which felt safe. “Auntie,” he greeted Lin Shuang and opened the passenger door. She didn’t turn around. “Thank you,” she said when she sat down.
After Ren Bai got in, she patted her chest: “Luckily it’s a workday. He hasn’t finished work yet or I would have been found out.”
Ren Bai said, “Who says that? You looked completely normal!”
Lin Shuang tucked her long hair behind her ear and asked, “Where are we going now?” She still looked a bit tense, but much more relaxed than before.
Ren Bai looked in the rearview mirror at Yu Shiqing: “To Yufeng Jingyuan?”
Yu Shiqing replied, “First, to the hospital.”
Lin Shuang had decided to divorce. Gao Fan would soon discover she was not at home. It was best to act today before things spiraled. Ren Bai quickly rerouted to the hospital.
Thanks to Jiang Yu’s prior arrangements and with Lin Shuang present, transferring hospitals was very smooth. Yu Shiqing completed the paperwork, and Gao Yuan had already been placed in a new ward. When he turned a hallway corner after saying goodbye to the doctor, he saw Lin Shuang standing against the wall he wasn’t sure how long she had been waiting.
When Yu Shiqing returned, Lin Shuang looked up anxiously: “Shi Qing, would you like to meet your younger sister?”
Since Lin Shuang’s marriage, Yu Shiqing had not been allowed to enter the Gao family home. Gao Yuan was born secretly Gao Fan even forbade Lin Shuang from informing Yu Shiqing. He had never even seen her.
Lin Shuang quietly added, “If you don’t want to see her, that’s okay, too.”
Jiang Yu, who had been by Yu Shiqing’s side, glanced at him. Yu Shiqing said simply: “Let’s go.” And he led the way into the ward, with Lin Shuang close behind.
Inside, Ren Bai was already there, chatting with Gao Yuan. Hearing footsteps, he looked up and stood, revealing Gao Yuan on the bed. She was half‑reclined and also looked toward the door.
Lin Shuang hurried over and introduced, “Yuan Yuan, this is your brother, Yu Shiqing, and his friend, Jiang Yu.”
Yu Shiqing quietly approached the bedside. Gao Yuan looked up and her eyes lit: “Brother!” At nine years old and recovering from a serious illness, she looked fragile but well cared for. Her color was pale from recovery but her dark eyes were bright and lively.
Yu Shiqing sat beside her. She held his finger modestly: “Mama said you paid for my treatment. Thank you, brother.”
Yu Shiqing lowered his gaze and allowed her to hold his finger: “You don’t need to thank me.”
Then she asked: “Will you come see me again? Mama says you’re busy but I want you to come. I don’t cost much can I make you less busy?”
Hearing that, Lin Shuang turned away unseen and wiped tears discreetly. Yu Shiqing’s lips curved into a gentle smile. He stroked her hair softly: “When you’re well, Mama can bring you to live at my house. Would that be okay?”
Gao Yuan’s face brightened: “Really?”
Jiang Yu watched quietly from the side, his eyes on Yu Shiqing’s smiling profile. He knew what Yu had gone through this was the first time in many years Yu was reunited with family.
When Lin Shuang turned to him, she also stepped forward and sincerely said: “Jiang Yu, thank you.”
Jiang Yu shifted his gaze away: “Auntie, no need to be so polite.”
Lin Shuang smiled with hesitation: “I know you and Shi Qing… are very close. I just want to thank you sincerely if not for you, I might never have had the courage to take this step. And I would have felt forever regretful toward Shi Qing.”
Jiang Yu looked at her: “I believe what Yu cares about is not that you owe him, he hates it when you don’t value yourself.”
Lin Shuang froze: “What?”
Yu Shiqing stood and stepped back. Gao Yuan, in her post‑operation stretch, had nodded off. Seeing Yu walk over, Lin Shuang didn’t say more; instead she covered Gao Yuan with a blanket.
Ren Bai waited until she finished, then said: “We can go home now, right?”
It was late, they had not eaten dinner, but hospital security was tight and with the nurse present, traveling later wouldn’t rouse suspicion. Lin Shuang was persuaded to go back.
They finally drove to Yufeng Jingyuan. The four shared dinner downstairs before heading up. As they exited the elevator, the property staff had already delivered two sets of furniture and boxes to the entrance.
It was late and Yu had tomorrow’s commitments. Ren Bai didn’t stay long; he told Yu to rest early and headed home. Lin Shuang, knowing how busy they were, helped unpack without being asked Yu Shiqing didn’t stop her.
She opened the first box and asked: “Shi Qing, is this your shirt?”
Yu Shiqing said: “It’s Jiang Yu’s.”
Lin Shuang nodded. She unpacked the second box: “These?”
Yu said: “Also Jiang Yu’s.” Again, she nodded.
Box number three: “Also his?” “Yes,” came the reply.
At that moment Jiang Yu, who couldn’t hold back, came over and looked through the boxes. He pulled out a dress shirt and handed it to Yu Shiqing: “You’ve never worn this?”
Yu Shiqing held Jiang Yu’s wrist gently and stepped back to realize: “I have.”
Jiang Yu gently smiled: “Then it’s yours too.”
Yu Shiqing said quietly: “Okay. It’s mine.”
He placed the shirt back. Yu then asked: “Which room do I sleep in tonight?”
Lin Shuang asked: “You’re not staying together?”
Jiang Yu faltered; Yu Shiqing assumed she meant they lacked rooms. He answered: “Right.”
Lin Shuang considered and said: “Makes sense.” She thought same-sex alphas might fight if they shared but why did they have such closeness between them? She sighed: “Forget it. It’s your decision.”
Before Yu could speak, Jiang Yu pulled Yu Shiqing’s wrist: “Your room is this way.” Caught off guard, Yu was pulled two steps along.
They passed the master bedroom: “You stay here.” Jiang Yu opened the door.
The apartment was six rooms, three living spaces. Both master and guest bedrooms had walk-in closets and study rooms. The space was ample with good lighting. A glass door linked balconies between two rooms, with chairs set outside. Yu Shiqing followed behind Jiang Yu, exited through the balcony, and their mother was assigned a different room. Together they packed the clothes into the wardrobe, then separated to shower and sleep.

Over the next two days, after attending events, Yu Shiqing and Ren Bai went to the company where they met with a lawyer recommended by Luo Shaoyuan. They discussed general legal direction. But Yu had to start filming “Say Go‑Go’s Travel” episode 2 tomorrow, so he left legal matters to Ren Bai while he filmed.
With Luo Shaoyuan they sent the lawyer off. Yu thanked him and left with Ren Bai. Luo waved and headed upstairs, meeting a junior artist on the way.
The junior teased: “Luo ge, was that Yu Shiqing just now? I thought I heard you mention a divorce case did Yu get married? No way?”
Luo scowled: “What nonsense you’re talking!”
Junior stuttered: “Then why is there a divorce suit?”
“That’s his family,” Luo corrected. “And just you knowing is enough, okay?”
The junior nodded, laughed off, and left. Luo frowned, walked to the elevator, paused as the artist turned and dialed someone.

The next day. Before boarding a flight.
Ren Bai handed Yu Shiqing his small carry‑on: “Really don’t want me to come with you?”
Yu said: “No.”
Gao Fan had learned about the hospital transfer and was searching for them. Ren staying with Lin Shuang helped reassure her. Ren sighed: “Wish Jiang Yu were here with you at least you’d have company.”
Since arriving at Yufeng Jingyuan, Jiang Yu had been busier than Yu two days with no word. They departed from different cities for the shoot.
“I even miss Jiang Yu and Meng Chen,” Ren admitted. “Don’t you feel the same?”
Just then Yu’s phone rang. The caller ID read “Jiang Yu.” Ren froze. Maybe Yu would never feel that discomfort again.
Yu nodded to Ren and answered, walking toward the entrance.
“I just finished the magazine shoot. Have you boarded?”
Jiang Yu’s voice came softly, faintly unsteady. Yu said: “Not yet.”
Jiang Yu asked: “What time will you arrive?”
Yu glanced at his watch: “About 4:30.”
Jiang Yu’s tone dropped: “I’ll be there at 5.”
Yu answered: “That’s fine, 5 is not late.”
“Late—” Jiang Yu gripped his words but swallowed, then said: “We haven’t seen each other in two days… you…”
“Yes?” Yu prompted.
Then Jiang Yu shifted topic: “You don’t have anything to say to me?”
Yu answered: “I do.”
Jiang Yu tightened his grip on the phone: “What is it?”
Yu hesitated, then said: “I’m boarding now.”
Brief silence followed. Yu added: “See you at 5.”
Jiang Yu’s voice was flat. Then he hung up.
