Chapter 54

After drying Yu Shiqing’s hair, Jiang Yu threw the towel in his arms and turned to sit down.
Yu Shiqing caught the towel and picked up the hairdryer on the table.
“Returning the favor?”

Jiang Yu doubted his hair drying skills, but before he could say no, the sound of the dryer had already started. The wind began to blow gently at the top of his head.

Seeing Jiang Yu’s expressionless face, Yu Shiqing smiled and said,
“This way it won’t burn.”

Jiang Yu glared at him, but the wet hair in front of his forehead slapped against his eye. He frowned and shut his eyes.

Seeing this, Yu Shiqing raised his free left hand, gathered the wet hair back, and rested his fingers gently on Jiang Yu’s eyebrows. Now, the hot air only blew on the back of Yu Shiqing’s hand, not Jiang Yu’s face.

Jiang Yu’s eyelids moved slightly, his eyelashes trembled briefly, but he soon calmed down. Still, he didn’t open his eyes.

A long silence.

Yu Shiqing finally said,
“All done.”

Jiang Yu immediately pulled up the blanket and lay down. With a quick turn, he faced away from Yu Shiqing.

“Going to sleep.”

Yu Shiqing looked at his back and chuckled.
“Alright.”

The light went out quietly.

The next morning, Yu Shiqing and Jiang Yu woke up one after the other.

Since they had already signed the contracts earlier, the first thing they did after getting up was to lift the towel that had been covering the camera.

Live-streaming reality shows had become the norm. To grab attention, most variety shows claimed to be “real.” That meant showing everything from waking up to removing makeup.

Some naturally good-looking celebrities even used this as a selling point.
Of course, if someone wasn’t confident, there were still ways to avoid the camera during those times.
But clearly, Yu Shiqing and Jiang Yu weren’t part of that group.

As Yu Shiqing lifted the towel, Jiang Yu was just getting out of bed.

Countless viewers were already waiting in the livestream chatroom.
Once the screen lit up, the view count shot up instantly.

“Damn, Yu Shiqing’s close-up face is too handsome. Glad I came early!”

On the screen, both men were still in pajamas.
Yu Shiqing put down the towel and took his clothes into the bathroom.

Jiang Yu turned to the window and pulled open the curtains.
The golden morning sunlight instantly filled the room bright and dazzling.

Outside the window was the sea. Beyond a small patch of mangroves and a golden beach, the shimmering sea water swayed gently in the wind. From this angle, you could vaguely see white waves crashing.

The director switched to Jiang Yu’s point of view.
While the audience was admiring the view, Yu Shiqing had already finished washing up and came out of the bathroom.

Jiang Yu also picked two random pieces of clothing from his suitcase and walked over.

From the room’s all-angle cameras, you could see Jiang Yu say something, and Yu Shiqing responded.

But—

There was no sound.

“Ahhh did these two forget something super important?!”

“Where’s the director?! The guests forgot to turn on their mics remind them!”

“After last night, I can’t help but wonder if they’re saying something secret right now…”

Not long after, Yu Shiqing heard a knock on the door.

“Good morning, seniors! I’m Wu Luo, from next door!”

Yu Shiqing opened the door. Wu Luo greeted him and tugged at his collar.

“The director asked me to remind you both, you forgot to wear your microphones.”

Yu Shiqing understood and smiled.
“Thank you.”

Wu Luo shyly said,
“No need to thank me, senior.”

After he left, Yu Shiqing closed the door.
When he turned around, Jiang Yu was standing right behind him.

Jiang Yu asked casually,
“Who was that?”

“Wu Luo,” Yu Shiqing replied.

“Wu Luo?” Jiang Yu repeated.

“He lives next door,” said Yu Shiqing.

Among the six people they met yesterday, Yu wasn’t familiar with any of them. If Wu Luo hadn’t introduced himself, he wouldn’t have remembered the name.

Jiang Yu stared at him.
“He’s an omega. No wonder you were smiling like that.”

There were only two rooms downstairs. This one had the two alphas—Jiang Yu and Yu Shiqing.
The other room had the remaining eight people, including two omegas.

Yu Shiqing didn’t bother arguing about that.
Instead, he said,
“Put on your microphone.”

Once they solved the sound problem, the two of them went out together.

In the living room, Wei Yuanju and Ji Chen were already there, chatting at the coffee table.

Seeing them come out, Wei Yuanju pointed.
“Look! There are envelopes here with our names on them.”

Yu Shiqing looked over.

Eight envelopes were neatly laid out probably placed there last night.

Ji Chen said,
“Since we’re all separate anyway, let’s open them and take a look?”

Everyone agreed.

Yu Shiqing opened his envelope and pulled out two cards.

The first card said:
“Go to the Forest Park and find the animal caretaker ‘Old Pan.’ He will give you today’s assignment.”

The second card was a small map of a local attraction.

Jiang Yu’s cards were the same as his.

Wei Yuanju and Ji Chen had different work locations.
Soon, the rest of the group arrived, and their cards had similar instructions.

Once everyone was done gathering and checking missions, Su Yayi suggested going out for breakfast together.

They only had 940 yuan left, so everyone expected they’d have to tighten their belts.
But after arriving at the food street shown on the map, they were surprised by how cheap and tasty the food was.

All eight ate their fill for under 100 yuan.

Ji Chen stared at the receipt and slapped his thigh.
“If we knew about this place last night!”

Wei Yuanju used the chance to introduce the area.
As the top host at Huangtian Entertainment, he wasn’t just a guest on this show.
Naturally, he had a bigger role.

From the food street to the next location, the Star Pier and finally to his work site at the beach, he explained everything in detail.
His narration was natural and smooth, clearly based on research the crew gave him beforehand.

But when they reached the sightseeing tower, the sea amusement park, and finally the distant Forest Park, he got off and didn’t have a chance to speak more.

The sightseeing shuttle they boarded at the food plaza reached the tower.
After Ji Chen got off, only Yu Shiqing, Jiang Yu, and Su Yayi were left.

Yu Shiqing and Jiang Yu sat side by side, while Su Yayi sat across from them.

As the shuttle emptied, Su Yayi started getting nervous in front of her idol.
She found a topic to talk about:

“I watched Doomsday Rescue a few days ago. It was really good!”

Yu Shiqing smiled.
“I’m glad you liked it.”

“I’m planning to watch it again with my friends after the trip.”

The two chatted on camera.

Behind the monitors, the director had a thought.

The show had started airing.
As expected, with Jiang Yu’s steady presence, the viewership steadily rose.
Across the internet, Jiang Yu was the most talked-about person.

At the same time, with Doomsday Rescue becoming a hit, Yu Shiqing’s popularity was also rising.

But aside from that, the director wondered if he could create a new buzz.

Like the traditional strategy CP (couple pairing).

Su Yayi was a fan of Yu Shiqing what a naturally usable storyline.

It was just a pity.
Jiang Yu had been too considerate and ruined the chance for Yu and Su Yayi to spend time alone.

Worse, Jiang Yu even helped share Su Yayi’s workload a perfect moment for gossip, but Jiang Yu had zero tolerance for rumors.
The director didn’t dare touch that red line.

As the director thought, Su Yayi got off the shuttle.

The three said goodbye, and the vehicle moved on.
Soon, it arrived at Yu Shiqing and Jiang Yu’s work location: Forest Park.

Even before getting off, Yu Shiqing smelled the fresh air of nature.
It was refreshing and clear.

As they walked in, they saw that the park was surrounded by water.
The entrance had an arched bridge.
The sun had already risen above the treetops, casting golden-red rays through the forest.

The deeper they went, the more beautiful it became like a masterpiece carved by nature.

The Impromptu Travel Show had 12 episodes.
Each episode was filmed in a scenic location.

But due to restrictions, they couldn’t shoot in well-known spots.
So they chose newly developed or less popular ones.
This helped promote the area, and the local government supported it, installing cameras around the forest in advance.

Two cameramen followed Yu Shiqing and Jiang Yu to film them.

Led by staff, they arrived at their work area and met the man mentioned in the card, Old Pan.

Old Pan looked around forty. Just one look and you could tell he was honest and kind.

He first took them on a tour of the animal area, introducing everything.
Then they returned to the workroom to change into uniforms.
Finally, they entered a room where he introduced a coworker and assigned their task: preparing food for the baby animals.

The coworker was about the same age as Old Pan. She didn’t give her full name, just said,
“Call me Sister Li.”

On camera, Sister Li looked shy.
But when she started explaining her work, she became much more relaxed.

“Every morning, we first feed the babies with milk,” she said. “You two arrived late today, so you’ll skip that. Help us prepare the snacks for before lunch.”

Yu Shiqing glanced at the kitchen equipment, then looked at Jiang Yu.
Just as he was about to speak, Jiang Yu grabbed his wrist.

“You’re helping too. Don’t try to slack off.”

“I’m just worried about wasting ingredients,” Yu said.

Jiang Yu ignored him and pulled him over to the counter to help Sister Li.

“These fruits and vegetables are from the forest totally organic,” Sister Li said while chopping. “Even we can eat them.”

After showing them how to make the snacks, she got a phone call, said a few quick words, and left the room.

Jiang Yu watched carefully, then tried making one himself.
His movements were smooth and skillful.
The result looked almost like Sister Li’s.

He took the snack from the mold, held it in his hand, and showed it to Yu Shiqing.

“How does it look?”

Yu smiled.
“Looks tasty.”

Jiang Yu said,
“Want a bite?”

Yu glanced at him and nodded toward his hands.
“I’m washing fruit. My hands are wet.”

“I’ll feed you.” Jiang Yu casually broke the snack in half and held it to Yu’s lips.

Watching him eat, he asked,
“How is it?”

Yu replied,
“Tastes good.”

Jiang Yu smiled and ate the other half. Then he continued making more.

Yu finished washing the fruit, peeled a grape, and fed it to Jiang Yu.

Jiang Yu swallowed the sweet and slightly sour fruit.
He looked up and raised an eyebrow.

“Returning the favor?”

Yu Shiqing smiled.
“Is it sweet?”

Jiang Yu lowered his head.
“Didn’t taste it.”

Yu said,
“Want another?”

Jiang Yu replied,
“Up to you.”

Viewers in the livestream watched their back-and-forth one feeding the other and were completely speechless.
Only their hands on the keyboard typed furiously:

“AHHHHHH what are these two even doing?!!”

It spread online that the washed-up film emperor, Yu Shiqing, was seen entering and leaving the same hotel as the popular idol Jiang Yu. The media, eager for gossip, rushed to get an interview. As usual, Yu Shiqing refused: “Don’t disturb me while filming.” Jiang Yu, known for being strong-willed, said, “You guys should know your limits when making things up. How could two Alphas have a scandal?” Even the fans came out to clarify professionally: “They’re filming together. Please don’t misunderstand!” That night. Inside the hotel. For some reason, Yu Shiqing pinned the wrong Jiang Yu against the door and bit his gland. With a strange Alpha’s pheromones invading his body, Jiang Yu felt both pain and pleasure. His face turned dark with anger. “Hey, bastard, you bit the wrong person!” Yu Shiqing looked up and, oh— it really was the wrong person. So he simply apologized: “Sorry. Let’s pretend tonight never happened.” Jiang Yu: “…” Scumbag! If I don’t turn this around, I’ve lost!
