The Male Lead Has Set His Sights on Me 100

When Zhou Yanxing returned to his office, the lounge door was still closed.

It had been quite a while. Why wasn’t it over yet? Had the injury turned out to be worse than expected?

His heart sank. He knocked on the door.

He’d already prepared what he would say to comfort Chi Zhan.

No matter if you’re healthy or disabled, rich or poor, alive or dead… you’ll always be my secretary.

Cen Chi opened the door.

“What is it?”

The massage wasn’t finished yet. Zhou Yanxing caught a whiff of medicinal oil wafting from the room.

“How is he?”

“Fortunately, it’s nothing serious. But if it happens again, I can’t make any promises.”

“There won’t be a next time,” Zhou Yanxing replied, eyes dark with thought. “Have you ever heard of something called ‘One-Spray-Heals-All’?”

“What’s that?” Cen Chi clearly hadn’t. “What does it do?”

“I’m not entirely sure, but it’s extremely effective for treating external injuries. One second, someone’s lying on the floor badly hurt. The next, they’re perfectly fine. Seems like some kind of miracle cure.”

A flicker of surprise crossed Cen Chi’s eyes.

“Just one second?”

“Maybe two. I’d just picked up the bottle—and then it vanished into thin air.”

He gathered everyone into his office.

“Did any of you see that ‘One-Spray-Heals-All’ stuff earlier? The one that makes wounds disappear instantly?”

“What’s that?”

“Never seen it.”

“I didn’t see anything, President Zhou. I swear.”

Cen Chi looked at Zhou Yanxing.

“I understand how much you care about Secretary Chi’s condition, but are you sure you weren’t dreaming? Daydreaming is a medical condition too, you know. If you’d like, I can schedule an evaluation.”

“……”

The lounge door was ajar.

Chi Zhan had heard everything. And now… he, too, was silent.

If his guess was right, that spray must’ve been a player item—something that absolutely wasn’t supposed to be seen by anyone inside the game world.

One second later—

Zhou Yanxing asked again, “You really didn’t see anything?”

“President Zhou, what did you say just now? I suddenly can’t remember.”

“What didn’t we see?”

“…???”

Their memories had been wiped again.

The system had auto-cleared the bug. And that’s when Chi Zhan realized something deeply wrong: If everyone else had their memories wiped—why hadn’t Zhou Yanxing’s?

Cen Chi said calmly, “There’s no such miraculous medicine in the world. If there were, what would doctors be for? You’re clearly overthinking this.” He patted Zhou Yanxing on the shoulder. “If this keeps up, you might want to consider visiting a psych ward.”

“…………”

Now truly exasperated, Zhou Yanxing wanted to drag those players out for a confrontation—only to remember they’d just been sentenced to the in-game prison.

No visitations allowed during their sentence.

No one to back him up.

He stepped back into the room—and immediately spotted Chi Zhan.

“You heard all of that, didn’t you? That thing just now…”

“What thing?” Chi Zhan replied innocently. “President Zhou, what are you talking about?”

Watching Zhou Yanxing visibly question his life choices, Chi Zhan nearly burst from holding back laughter. Deep down, he was thinking only four words:

Finally, it’s your turn.

“…Forget it. We’ll deal with this later.” Zhou Yanxing changed the subject. “Is it still not done? What now?”

“Massage. Are you not leaving?”

“I’m staying to observe,” Zhou Yanxing said, dragging over a chair and sitting down, eyes fixed on the two of them. “Doctor Cen’s rates are outrageous. Maybe if I study the technique, I can learn it myself—save on future medical bills.”

“You must have a lot of free time, President Zhou,” Cen Chi said dryly. “Do you plan to handle massages personally now too?”

“Can’t I care about my employees’ well-being?” Zhou Yanxing shot back. “Besides, your technique seems pretty basic. Anyone could do it. Don’t tell me it’s some ancient family secret, passed down to daughters only?”

Cen Chi didn’t take the bait. He smiled faintly.

“Medical procedures aren’t something amateurs should dabble in. Press the wrong spot, and the consequences can be severe. Also,” he added meaningfully, “you seem to care an awful lot about just one employee, President Zhou. Aren’t the others employees too? Are you going to give them massages as well?”

“Since you care so much, how about you check on the rest of the team while you’re here? I’ll pay for it.”

Chi Zhan, who had stayed silent until now, suddenly remembered something.

“Could you take a look at Chu Xingxiao too? He’s got a cold. Seemed pretty bad this morning—kept coughing.”

“Chu Xingxiao?” Cen Chi repeated the unfamiliar name. “And he is…?”

“That idol who lives next door to you,” Zhou Yanxing replied, clearly not thrilled. “If I’m not mistaken, he’s the one who drove you home last night?”

“…A neighbor, huh,” Cen Chi murmured, thoughtfully.

While the two of them bickered, Chi Zhan suddenly remembered the poor little dog downstairs, who’d been looking pretty miserable earlier. Hopefully he was doing okay.

Unfortunately, that one comment redirected all their fire right back at him.

“I mean, yes, but—”

Shouldn’t the focus be on going downstairs to check on a sick employee? Was that offer just empty words?

Zhou Yanxing, whose entire jealousy radar had been fixed on Cen Chi up to now, suddenly sensed something was off.

Yes, Cen Chi was a love rival—but who said there could only be one? The other one might’ve been sneaking around under his nose this whole time.

A neighbor. Sick, and on Chi Zhan’s mind. Also… a popular idol lately.

Zhou Yanxing couldn’t recall what he looked like, but he was probably decent-looking.

“How do you know he’s sick?”

Chi Zhan, conditioned by years of workplace instinct, replied without thinking.

“I noticed when we were having breakfast together—”

The Male Lead Has Set His Sights on Me

Status: Completed Author: Native Language: Chinese
Chi Zhan is a dutiful secretary NPC in a romance simulation game. Every day, he performs his tasks with robotic precision—scheduling meetings, serving coffee, and acting as a helpful side character while players flirt with his aloof CEO boss. Once the day’s events wrap up, he’s free to laze around like a salted fish. But one day, the system suddenly flags him down: there’s a critical bug in the game. There are four romanceable male leads in this world:
  • The cold and domineering CEO,
  • The gentle and refined doctor,
  • The rebellious and charming bad boy,
  • The emotionally detached e-sports god.
Coincidentally, Chi Zhan happens to be entangled with all four. The system's diagnosis? Their affection for Chi Zhan has exceeded the "friends-only" threshold. The fastest way to fix the bug? Make Chi Zhan a married man. Chi Zhan, calm and professional, raised an eyebrow. “Wait. Are you sure there’s no mistake in the readings?” The system was adamant. “No mistake. Just do it!” As a responsible NPC, Chi Zhan had no choice but to start subtly hinting at a fictional relationship. To the doctor: “My boyfriend’s been competing recently. He’s about to win the championship.” To the bad boy: “My partner works at the hospital too. Want to meet him sometime?” To the e-sports god: “Yeah, you’re impressive—but my hubby just started his own company.” To the CEO: “I prefer younger guys. The one living with me is just right.” Chi Zhan assumed this would be enough to make them back off. He couldn’t have been more wrong. They. All. Snapped. The doctor removed his gold-rimmed glasses, voice gentle but threatening: “Say it again—who do you love?” The bad boy shoved Chi Zhan onto the bed, eyes wild: “Gege, don’t regret this.” The e-sports god smiled, lips brushing his ear in a lover’s whisper: “Your… hubby?” The CEO cornered him against the wall, lifting his chin: “Secretary Chi, break up with him.” Chi Zhan panicked. Worse yet, to keep his lies straight, he had to invent four separate boyfriends. What he didn’t expect… was that these romance targets—who once disdained the idea of fighting over someone—would all go completely unhinged. So… is it too late to admit he’s single?
