Chapter 5. Rapids
* * *
In the early dawn when Doun had tossed and turned before falling sound asleep, there was a gaze quietly watching Doun, whose sleeping habits were as well-behaved as his personality.
‘Fuck. Our hyung even sleeps like a baby. He’s twenty-six years old, so why does he sleep making such soft breathing sounds?’
It was Samin, blinded by love. The excitement of entering Doun’s house for the first time hadn’t even faded, yet he was lying in the same bed as Doun, who had been caught up in his scheme.
Light seeping through the half-open curtains cast shadows over Doun’s face. It was a sight that highlighted his distinct features even more.
Long extended eyelashes, white cheeks, a straight nose bridge, and lips that looked moist.
‘Fucking arousing. Really…’
How should he describe this feeling of admiring the person he liked and admired right in front of him? It was truly overwhelming but unbelievable. Even though he was watching him sleep right before his eyes, he wanted to touch and confirm it directly, but was afraid to carelessly touch him lest he wake up.
When Samin had told Doun in the park that he ‘wanted to date,’ he had been sincere. He wanted to know more about the man called Lee Doun, genuinely wanted to cherish him, and furthermore, wanted to be loved by him.
Though he had been called crazy and flatly rejected for blurting it out after knowing each other for only a few days.
‘Ah. This won’t do.’
As blood increasingly rushed to his lower half, his desire to touch Doun only grew. Samin frowned and stealthily slipped out of bed. His movements were truly devoted, even holding his breath in case Doun might wake up from the rustling sound of the blanket.
The place he quietly arrived at, even lifting his heels, was the bathroom attached to the bedroom. Locking the door and standing in the shower booth, Samin looked down at his tight pants.
Due to the volume of his fully erect cock, it wasn’t even easy to pull them down. After pulling down even his underwear, he lightly touched the tip of his large cock that had sprung out with his thumb.
Just from looking at Doun’s face, his glans had swollen hard with precum leaking out. This wasn’t even a beast in heat. If he hadn’t escaped to the bathroom, he might have come while fantasizing about Doun’s face on the bed.
“Ha…”
Samin lightly grasped the thick shaft with prominent veins. Then when the scene of Doun crying tears in the park suddenly came to mind, his lower body reacted intensely.
‘Crazy… Fuck, why am I having such fantasies? Is it normal to get aroused by seeing someone you like crying? Shouldn’t I get tested for psychopathy…’
Though he felt self-loathing, he urgently needed to deal with his painfully erect cock first. Imagining Doun’s face crying sadly, he eventually reached fantasies of Doun panting beneath him. The effect was certain, and semen pouring from the tip of his twitching glans was instantaneous.
“Phew…”
Samin’s eyes lacked focus as he blankly stared at the opaque viscous fluid dripping onto the tiles. Usually pleasure was accompanied by slight self-loathing when climaxing, but today was filled only with pleasure.
‘What is this? Is it because hyung is sleeping beyond the door?’
Even after releasing once, blood rushed again to his cock that was still considerably sized.
‘Ah, am I going crazy?’
Instead of spending time jerking off here, he should be admiring Doun’s sleeping face, but contrary to what his head thought, his body was steadily erecting his lower half, driving him mad.
Samin frowned and forcibly straightened his clothes. After washing his hands and lying back on the bed, he leisurely admired Doun’s collapsed form.
‘I thought he’d have severe insomnia because of depression. Our hyung sleeps better than I thought.’
It would be nice if he could watch Doun sleeping like this every day from beside him. Would that day ever come?
Samin felt a bit anxious. It was when he swallowed saliva and brought his face closer to attempt even a stolen kiss. His oblivious lower half sent signals again.
‘Ah. I’m going to go crazy.’
Samin ultimately had to leave the bed again and lock himself in the bathroom.
* * *
The medication Lee Doun had been taking for a long time was divided into morning and evening pills. Especially the evening medication contained sleeping pills. Without that medication, Doun would often fail to fall asleep for long periods and spend nights with his eyes wide open.
But yesterday was different. Thanks to Samin’s kind comfort, he seemed to have fallen asleep while settling his surging emotions, and when he opened his eyes, it was morning.
‘I slept better than expected…’
Quietly escaping from the bed where Samin was still sleeping, Doun looked down at the medicine packet. Even though the evening medication he should have taken yesterday remained intact, his body felt refreshed from the long-awaited good sleep.
‘You must not arbitrarily stop medication just because your condition improves a little one day, or conversely increase the dosage because it worsened.’
He momentarily remembered the doctor’s words about not suddenly stopping medication, but soon erased it from his mind. Since he hadn’t deliberately skipped it, one day should be fine.
Doun entered the bathroom with lighter steps than usual. He didn’t want to show his guest at home a messy appearance while living. His reflection in the mirror he quietly looked into was disheveled.
Hair sticking out in all directions, pale complexion, and still only one bright blue pupil.
The blue pupil showed no signs of returning at all. No one knew when it would return to its original eye color. Neither the doctor nor Lee Doun himself.
‘Let me wash up first.’
When he met the water stream to calm his complicated head, his breathing became easier.
When Doun came out of the bathroom after showering, Samin was sitting on the bed with disheveled hair.
‘He makes such a face too…’
Samin, just awakened from sleep, exuded a cool impression that seemed impossible to even approach in a lifetime. Perhaps because he usually sent texts filled with cute emoticons and smiled whenever their eyes met, his expressionless face, which was almost like seeing him for the first time, felt unfamiliar.
“Oh… Hyung, did you sleep well last night?”
Perhaps sensing movement, a naturally bright smile appeared over his previously expressionless face. His voice, as if just awakened from sleep, was much lower and less cheerful than usual, but his expression was the Kyung Samin that Doun knew well.
“Yeah.”
Doun nodded and dried his hair with a towel. It had been a very long time since he thought he could sleep soundly even without medication. His daily life of always depending on medication had been beautifully shattered.
“Hey. But those clothes look really small on you…”
Doun muttered with a slightly embarrassed face. Samin sitting on his bed was quite a sight to behold. He had forgotten while being distracted by his insistence on sleeping in the same bed, but seeing him again after dawn was a scene that evoked considerable pity from the homeowner’s perspective.
“That’s right. I really thought I was going to die from suffocating while sleeping last night. Because the clothes were small.”
Samin answered with a grin, then pulled the hem of his clothes down as if something was so amusing.
“Ugh. The clothes are too lewd. Look at this. They keep riding up like this trying to show off someone else’s abs on their own, you know?”
When Samin released the hem he was holding, his firm abs were fully revealed. He wasn’t someone who wouldn’t know that would obviously happen with small clothes, so it was clearly visible he was deliberately being shameless.
The problem was that Doun no longer found Samin, who was spouting nonsense from morning, entirely disagreeable. It was partly due to becoming accustomed from hearing it often, but the comfort Samin had offered last night was decisive.
Samin’s comfort, which was somewhat out of place but filled with absurd kindness, was what Doun, who had spent countless nights wide awake, had desperately wished for. Doun wasn’t petty enough to look at someone who had said such things with unpleasant eyes.
“If you’re done sleeping, wash up and come out. I’ll order breakfast. Let’s eat together.”
“Are you buying it for me, hyung?”
“Should I ask you to buy it instead?”
“Awesome! I eat anything well, so please order the same thing hyung wants to eat. Hyung, can I use this bathroom?”
“…Yeah. There are new toothbrushes in the left drawer.”
“Yes! I’ll wash up and come out quickly!”
Samin roughly arranged his hair sticking out in all directions with his large hand, then looked down at Doun quietly. Thinking he wanted him to move aside, he slightly stepped away, but the gaze still followed.
What now from morning? Doun looked up at Samin with a suspicious expression.
“What?”
“Just looking because you’re pretty.”
Along with an embarrassing answer from morning, Samin leisurely disappeared into the bathroom Doun had just come out of. A hollow laugh escaped at his natural back view, as if it were his own bedroom.
“Really funny guy…”
His face felt hot for no reason at the direct way of speaking he couldn’t get used to. Doun, left alone grumbling in the bedroom, only picked up his charging phone much later.
To take morning medication, he absolutely had to eat. He no longer wanted to live a life of just forcing medication into an empty stomach, and with a guest present, he couldn’t let him skip breakfast.
Choosing a reasonably edible menu, he considerately ordered two bulgogi lunch box sets for Samin, who couldn’t eat spicy food. Then he sat on the living room sofa and looked around the house. Perhaps because he had only brought in necessary appliances and minimal furniture, it looked empty.
‘I never thought about it before, but now I’m bothered…’
With just one guest in the house, he only worried whether it might look lacking in various small aspects. Doun sat silently for a long time, then pointlessly touched the sofa table where nothing was placed. There was no dust, but it looked strangely shabby with nothing on it.
‘Should I decorate it with something? No. He’s not coming to my house every day, so there’s no need… Still, maybe he’ll come occasionally…?’
While Doun agonized, leaving handprints on the transparent glass surface, Samin, who had entered the bathroom, locked the door and sighed.
‘Wow. Fuck. Even though I jerked off three times yesterday, I’m hard again from morning.’
Last night when he couldn’t easily fall asleep. Until Doun fell sound asleep, Samin had to desperately pretend to sleep and comfort himself several times in the bathroom.
Actually, he had planned to take advantage of the touching atmosphere when Doun expressed gratitude to him and at least beg for a kiss. However, one self-deprecating remark from Doun kept bothering him, preventing him from acting.
‘A guy who’s eaten up all his age looking pathetic begging and being pushed around by others.’
He was certain that the ‘others’ Doun mentioned included not only the Chronos Guild members who deserved to be ground up and drunk, but also Kyung Samin himself. After all, the person who had quit being a hunter and disappeared returning was, when examined, possibly a choice made because he was pushed by himself. Kyung Samin thought while carelessly taking off his clothes.
‘With that soft personality, if I push him crazy-like to date me, he’d probably reluctantly accept, but I don’t want that.’
He wanted Lee Doun to come to him entirely of his own will. His plan was to offer only subtle persuasion asking him to consider it since there was someone who liked him, rather than demanding to date by force.
Even that persuasion might feel like coercion to Lee Doun, but it couldn’t be helped. This was Kyung Samin’s Maginot Line.
‘Phew… Is it because hyung came in right after washing up? It’s really…’
Samin glanced down at his lower half and turned on the shower. The pants he was wearing were too tight, making the outline too explicit. He couldn’t show such a sight from morning, so he had no choice but to resolve it himself before going out.
Samin, taking the pouring water stream directly on his bare body, exhaled deeply.
‘I want to kiss Lee Doun… Kiss, and other things too…’
But if he couldn’t overcome desire and acted first during this ambiguous relationship, the worst result would be waiting for him. It wasn’t for nothing that modifiers like persistence freak or effort freak were attached to Samin’s nickname Slope.
Persistently challenging, waiting, and enduring were his specialties.
‘I can wait.’
He was a man who could wait indefinitely for Lee Doun’s choice. Preferably, it would be better if Lee Doun’s choice was positive. Thinking so, Samin lightly rested his forehead against the bathroom tile. It seemed it would take some time to resolve the heat in his lower body.
* * *
When Doun was sprawled on the sofa, tired of rubbing the table, he felt another presence in the living room. He quickly raised his head. Samin, who had even finished showering and looked much fluffier than usual, was walking out to the living room.
“What did you order for breakfast?”
“Bulgogi lunch box.”
“Oh. Sounds delicious. Are you eating the same thing as me, hyung?”
“Yeah. I ordered two of the same. It’ll be here soon. If you’re done washing, sit here.”
When Doun patted the seat next to him with his hand, Samin flinched like someone struck by lightning.
“You want me to sit there?”
“Yeah. You came here saying you had something serious to talk about. Don’t you remember?”
“…Now, now is a bit difficult.”
“Why?”
“…I suddenly want to look around hyung’s house first.”
The reason that followed a beat late felt like a lame excuse. Just as Doun was about to raise an eyebrow and interrogate him, the front door bell rang with perfect timing. The food he had ordered seemed to have arrived.
“I’ll go receive it.”
“…Yeah.”
Doun quietly watched Samin heading to the front door as if escaping, then recalled his outfit.
Still revealing his stomach completely with a t-shirt that looked like it would burst if touched and cotton pants that came to his calves… And something large asserting its presence around the right thigh area.
‘Hmm. I guess it’s because it’s morning.’
Doun, who had inadvertently witnessed the physiological phenomenon that made men troubled every morning, scratched around his left eye out of habit and shook his head.
‘Let’s pretend I didn’t see this kind of thing.’
Doun gave a small cough and crossed his arms, then smiled faintly. A corner of his heart felt proud, as if he had become a considerate older brother.
